Excellent Kane short. Kane returns to England only to find the local inhabitants plagued by terror from the forest. Finally, the Stave is here. Maybe someone heard my pleas for the Stave!!! It sure comes in use as Kane and a local woodsman battle creatures from frightening bedside legend. Recommend!!

Solomon Kane returns to his home in Devonshire, England and along with a mysterious woodcutter winds up searching for a missing child. Fair folk, cursed woods, and dark nursery rhymes. Fast paced, engaging prose, and an ending that stuck the landing. A fantastic story.

As far as a non Howard story goes this is really good. Fast, fun, exciting, and didn't ruin the character. Hope I see more of this quality and more of this author.
