She's a human engineer who refuses to back down. He's an alien master builder who hasn't felt anything in a century. Their collaboration could save the settlement—or burn it to the ground.
Zara Chen doesn't do helpless. When her ship crashed on an alien world, she picked herself up and got to work. Now she's the human settlement's lead engineer, and she has plans—big plans—for expanding their mountain refuge. There's just one the arrogant Vothren master builder who dismisses every idea she has.
Korvax hasn't let anyone close in over a hundred years. After losing his mate to illness, he buried himself in his forge and his work, determined never to feel that kind of pain again. The last thing he needs is a stubborn human woman invading his space, challenging his expertise, and awakening something he thought he'd killed long ago.
But when the Vothren's mysterious "resonance" flares between them—an undeniable pull that marks her as his potential mate—Korvax faces an impossible choice. Claim the woman who sets his blood on fire, or protect himself from a loss that might finally destroy him.
As they're forced to work together on a critical project, their explosive arguments give way to something far more understanding. Trust. Desire that threatens to consume them both. And when sabotage puts their entire community at risk, Zara and Korvax must put aside their fears and fight for everything they've built—including each other. Ignite is a steamy sci-fi alien romance featuring a grumpy master builder with a heart of gold, a fierce engineer who won't take no for an answer, found family, bite-mark bonding, and a happily ever after that's worth fighting for. This is Book 2 in the Hearts of Obsidian series and can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Excellent! This continues the story of our humans stranded on an ice cold Alien planet. Eve is the human engineer who clashes with the Alien master builder Korvax. Both are strong willed and pig headed. They fight their attraction with all they are worth. Unlike the last couple from the first book. Eve surprises Korvax with her ferocity as well as her intelligence. They work together like they have been doing so their whole lives on a project for the whole community. It takes sabotage and almost losing each other to finally see that commitment is the best and not the worst that could happen. Kathy
So I liked the premise and the characters in this story but this is so poorly written I wondered if AI wrote it. There were parts that might have been copy pasted because the dialogue and the scenes didn’t make sense with what was previously written. Did no one edit this? Also there were lines that were repeated and they were weird. Like that the kisses were nothing like rushed or some nonsense. anyways I don’t think I will read any more of this series. I thought the world building was cool and some suspense but I can’t handle the writing.
This book, like the first one was a hot mess. I genuinely liked the plot but there are so many continuity errors...like entire scenes rewritten into the same chapter but played out differently the second time. Korvax mentioned two different ways his previous mate died...things like that that don't make any sense.

The concept of the series has so much potential, but good gravy, the errors and editing of this book (and the one before it) is so abysmal. Major plot moments spoiled early on, multiple chapters repeated, and much more. It’s such a bummer!
