Sometimes it sucks being the sister of a rock star. I don’t envy his fame, but I could do without the attention of his stalker.
I want my life back. My privacy. My freedom.
Instead, my father hires three bodyguards who suffocate me at every turn. They’re always watching, hovering, invading my space.
When I discover Wild Steps, it feels like the perfect escape. Masked men who don’t know my identity—who can give me exactly what I need without the complications.
The three masked men sent to me are everything I crave.
They chase me through abandoned buildings and parks. Pin me down and claim me. And for the first time since my stalker outed me to the world, I feel free.
But when the masks come off, I discover that the three men I trusted to protect me have been my masked strangers all along.
They lied to me. Deceived me. They orchestrated everything.
It makes me feel naïve and stupid for not realizing who they were.
But even after I tear verbal shreds off my bodyguards for their betrayal, then demand distance and join my brother on tour without them, I can’t bring myself to want them gone.
ALL THE BOOKS IN THE MASKED MEN SERIES ARE STANDALONES.
♥ “Come out, come out, wherever you are. We’re not going to bite.” 📷
📷 “Speak for yourself.” ♥
Like most of the novellas in this series, this one was a super quick, very spicy read that I flew through in no time. At this point, the series has become completely addictive for me. It doesn’t really matter that each installment follows a similar formula with different characters and slightly tweaked tropes; I’ll keep picking them up and devouring every single one. They’re the perfect palate cleansers when I’m not in the mood for something heavy and just want a fun, engaging read.
♥ “I don’t know whether we’re making the right choice. Actually, I’m pretty sure we’re making a terrible one. Yet the thought of watching someone else touch her, chase her, fuck her is not an option I can live with.” 📷
The standout of this book for me was definitely the group of MMCs. I really enjoyed all three, but Vander had me hooked from the very beginning. There’s just something about the big, broody, silent type that always works, and once his backstory started to unfold, especially the reason behind his silence, it completely melted my heart. That’s not to say Rhodes and Ace didn’t bring anything to the table. Rhodes was easily lovable with his goofy personality and openness when it came to showing affection. Ace, on the other hand, leaned more into the dominant, protective role, which I usually love, but he didn’t stand out quite as much here. I found myself wishing we had gotten a bit more depth from him to really round out his character.
📷 “He touched you. Without permission. That’s enough.” ♥
One thing that briefly threw me off was the dynamic between the three men when they were first introduced. For a moment, I wasn’t sure if the story was going to include an MM relationship. It was clear early on that Vander wasn’t involved in that way, but it took a little longer to fully understand the connection between the other two based on their initial interactions.
“Protecting her is easy. Figuring out how to keep her heart from hating me - now that will be a whole lot harder."
Thankyou Jaye Pratt for the copy of the ARC, it was such a wonderful surprise when I stumbled upon it in my emails! 🫶🏻
The storyline was incredibly addictive! 😍 I loved the bodyguard angle and how they did everything in their power to protect the girl was unwavering. 🥵 It created such a thrilling mix of drama, with all the twists of feeling deceived and betrayed but ultimately not being able to resist the pull towards euphoria. ❤️🔥
📷 Maddie is a strong-willed, defiant, untamed wildheart! I loved her, from the moment she stuck her finger up to the man with the dimples (UGH THOSE DIMPLES😩) I knew this was going to be fun! 🤭 I also loved that she’s a photographer, capturing moments and live bands, was something that instantly drew me to her, because in a past life (my 20s), that was me.
💀 The boys, UGH! Love them, OBSESSED! Every energy was there: the alpha, the playful, the reserved, all coming together to create the perfect match for our girl. ❤️🔥 Rhodes, without question, stole my heart, I would be an absolute sucker for that man!🧎🏻♀️
Jaye has done it again with another hot and steamy masked man novella! The writing draws you in from the first word and gives you the ride of your life till the end! 🙌🏻
Having someone (or three someones) shadow your every move day in and day out can be wearing. Maddie is...not thrilled being babysat, but her brother is famous and she has a stalker, so it's a necessary precaution. That said, she doesn't make it easy for her guys. She hits up clubs with her bestie (Riley!) and sneaks out to abandoned buildings to take pictures. But her guys are used to the things she does, so they're pretty good at keeping up with her.
Then she signs up for Wild Steps and sets herself up to be chased by masked men. Ace, Vander, and Rhodes are SUPER not thrilled by the security aspect plus they all sort of have a thing for the lady they're assigned to protect. So they arrange things so they're her masked men. Which negates the security issue, but sets up some serious broken trust issues down the road. Because Maddie wanted the anonymity and having three men she has a bit of a thing for know her deepest fantasies messes with her head.
Because, YEAH, she finds out they're the ones chasing her. She has to decide if she can forgive them and how far she's willing to take this thing between them once she does. Broken trust doesn't mend overnight (or over two weeks), but these three know how to give her what she needs and she likes them on several levels.
I'm still enjoying these masked men and the ladies they fall for. *thumbs up*
thank you Jaye for allowing me to be on your permanent arc team! I genuinely enjoy these books, they're super short and easy to read. I love the characters in each book, and how we see characters from previous books. these are the perfect palate cleansers for those who love a why choose with a badass fmc and unforgettable mmcs. I think Vander will always have a special place in my heart for the way he opened up to Maddie about why he doesn't talk much 🥹🥹🥹 gah, the man that you are Vander. obviously I loved Rhodes and Ace too, but come on, Vander?! easy choice.
3 hot masked Bodyguards? Yes please! I love that each MMC has different core personalities traits that played off each other and provided different interactions with the FMC. The spicy scenes were hot and the tricks used to hide the masked men's identities was very clever.
Maddie (FMC) gains herself a stalker as a by-product of her brothers success. All of which brought 3 hot bodyguards - Rhodes, Ace & Vander. Only for their mutual attraction between all of them, their need to protect Maddie and her signing up Wild Steps (a place to explore Masked men fantasies) that all come together. Giving them all exactly what they wanted with steamy results. Ones that I loved. Another cracking novella to add to the other books in the Masked Men Series.
This book grabbed me by the throat in chapter one and never loosened its grip. Maddie being the sister of a rock star already had enough chaos in her life, but the stalker element? The loss of privacy? The suffocating spotlight? I felt that in my bones. Her desperation for freedom was so real it practically hummed off the page.
And then enter Ace, Vander, and Rhodes.
The way these three men hovered, controlled, protected, and absolutely consumed the space around her? Ferocious. Overbearing. Completely intoxicating. I loved the tension between safety and suffocation. The push and pull. Maddie wanting to scream at them one minute and melt into them the next.
Wild Steps though??? That concept??? Masked men. No identities. Just raw pursuit and freedom in the dark. The abandoned buildings, the chase, the claiming. It felt dangerous and liberating all at once. Maddie finally getting to feel in control of her own desire after having her life ripped apart was EVERYTHING.
And when the masks came off???
I gasped. I stared at the wall. I questioned my life choices. Because the betrayal hit HARD. The fact that her own bodyguards orchestrated it all. The men sworn to protect her were the same ones hunting her in the dark. That reveal was ruthless in the best way. I loved how furious she was. She didn’t just fold. She shredded them with her words. She left. She made them feel it.
But the emotional undercurrent underneath the betrayal? The longing? The way none of them could actually let go? Delicious angst. Absolute feast.
Ace, Vander, and Rhodes are each distinct and layered. Not copy paste alpha clones. They have their own energy, their own intensity, their own way of loving Maddie. And together? They are overwhelming in the best possible way. Protective but unhinged. Devoted but flawed. Exactly what this story needed.
Jaye Pratt has this way of writing obsession and devotion that feels sharp and addictive. I inhale each book she writes. No crumbs left. Just vibes, tension, and men who would burn the world down without blinking.
If you love: • Reverse harem • Masked men • Bodyguard romance • Betrayal and grovel • Protective, possessive heroes • High emotion and higher tension
Run. Do not walk.
Maddie and her men live rent free in my head now and I am not evicting them anytime soon. 🖤
if you are into :- 🖤Reverse Harem ❤️Addictive and steamy stories. 🧡Tough MMCs - Spicy Masked Men 🖤Drama and hurt ❤️Deceit and betrayal 🧡Hardcore and rebellious FMC - with a desperate need for privacy and freedom. 🖤Spicy scenes ❤️Sizzling bodyguard romance 🧡 Alpha males 🖤Amazing masked men novellas with ferocious, loving and overbearing men.
Then this the book for you.
Maddie is the daughter of a famous star and craves the privacy and freedom. However, she is tied to 3 masked bodyguards as she has a stalker. She is not happy and finds it to be stifling and makes their jobs interesting with the antics that she tries to pull. She is stubborn, strong and defiant even with a stalker on her tail. She even flips the bird just to try and get reactions. Riley her best is a bad influence on her and helps Riley with her antics. They definitely make the guards work for their wage. The guards come together with a formidable stubbornness and a fierce protection of Maddie.
Ace wormed his way into my heart. There was just something about him that attracted me to him from the beginning. Each have their unique personalities which is nice to have them all as carbon copies.
Much to the guards dismay, Maddie signs up for Wild Steps. This is a show that entails Maddie being chased by masked men. Maddie wants the thrill but also the anonymity and the privacy of no one knowing who she is. The guards were less than happy when they find out especially as they all hold a torch for maddie and do not want another man anywhere near her, stalker, show or a random guy. With Ace, Vander and Rhodes being her protection and having feelings for her decide to arrange with wild steps that THEY become the masked men without Maddie knowing. Queue the hurt, broken trust, anger and upset from Maddie due to their actions. She has to decide if the trust can be mended or is that it despite her feelings for each of them.
Jayes writing style is right up my street and read it in a day. Would have been shorter but IRL got in the way. It is action packed, addictive, thrilling and emotive. The spicy scenes are hot and steamy just the way i love it. What he wrote about the masked men hiding their identities and the concept of Wild Steps was genius and very thrilling.
Story 4.5 Spice 4.5
Thank you for allowing to read the ARC - i thoroughly enjoyed myself.
MUM ME says: Your bodyguards lied to you. That’s not sexy; that’s manipulative. Masked strangers following you into abandoned buildings—what if it turns into an actual kidnapping? By letting masked strangers get that close to you, you’ll end up with trust issues, bruises, and probably another round of therapy. You convinced yourself that danger is romantic because it wears a glow mask, but it’s a slippery slope. And for god’s sake, if you hear a voice in the dark saying run, maybe run the other way. You could end up dead instead of just traumatized. AUTHOR ME says: Let your bodyguards lie to you if it ends with them confessing, apologizing, and then fucking you like a rag doll. If they want to follow you into abandoned buildings where they’ll catch you, pin you down, and make you forget your own name, who are you to stop them? And if they ruin you for anyone else, that’s not trauma—it’s character development. Besides, working on yourself is the best kind of therapy. Also, danger is romantic when it comes with a possessive growl and hands that know exactly where to hold you. And if a voice in the dark tells you to run, smile. You know they’ll catch you, and you want to be caught. That’s why you’re here.
Once again I am back with a Jaye Pratt masked men novella and honestly I love these damn books. They are such quick reads and have all the spice and snarky fmc that you could want add in some mm scenes and we are ready to go.
Maddie is the sister of Kade a rockstar but unfortunately she has found herself with a stalker who has mistaken her for her brother's girlfriend so now she has two full time body guards but her father feels they are not enough so she now has a new one.
When her best friend Riley suggests her going to wild secrets website so she can get her fantasy without anyone knowing her or her knowing them her body guards decide to take it upon themselves to be the ones to fulfil her fantasy's. What follows is lots of fun but things can't stay secret forever and will Maddie still want the boys once she knows the truth.
Just finished Brutal Bodyguards by Jaye Pratt and this one was such a fun, quick read. I absolutely flew through it.
Let’s start with the men because they definitely carried a lot of the story for me.
Vander was easily my favorite. There is just something about the quiet, protective type that gets me every time. He had this calm, steady presence that made him feel safe while still being incredibly intense when it came to protecting Maddie. The loving protector vibe from him was everything and honestly… hot.
Rhodes was another one I really enjoyed. I loved the playfulness in his personality. He brought a lighter energy to the group that balanced out the darker, more intense moments really well. Every time he showed up on page I knew the dynamic was about to get more interesting.
Ace was the one I struggled with a little. I didn’t dislike him and I did enjoy the dominant side of his personality, but compared to the others he just felt a little meh to me. At times it almost felt like if his character wasn’t there, the story still would have worked just fine.
Maddie was exactly what I expected her to be and I loved her for it. She fit the story and the dynamic between the bodyguards really well and never felt out of place in the chaos around her.
The only thing that held this book back slightly for me was the plot. It felt like there was something missing but I can’t quite figure out what that something was. The story was entertaining and kept me reading, but it didn’t always feel fully fleshed out.
That being said, I still absolutely ate this book up. It was fast paced, fun, and perfect when you’re in the mood for something quick and addictive.
And the spice?Fucking hot. 1000/10.
Overall this was a really enjoyable read and I had a great time with it.
This was such a fun, quick read and I absolutely flew through it.
Brutal Bodyguards follows Maddie and her three bodyguards, and honestly… the men really carried this story for me.
Vander was easily my favourite. There’s just something about the quiet, protective type that gets me every single time. He had this calm, steady presence that made him feel safe, but when it came to Maddie?? The intensity. The protectiveness. The way he showed up for her??? Yeah… I ate that up.
Rhodes was another standout for me. He brought such a fun, playful energy to the group and balanced out the darker, more intense vibes really well. Every time he was on page, the dynamic just felt more interesting and a little lighter, which I loved.
Ace… I didn’t dislike him, but he was definitely the one I connected with the least. I liked his dominant side, but compared to the others he just felt a little underdeveloped and a bit forgettable at times.
Maddie fit the dynamic really well. She held her own in the chaos of these men and never felt out of place, which I always appreciate in a why choose situation.
The only thing that held this back from being a higher rating for me was the plot. It wasn’t bad, it just felt like something was missing. The story was entertaining and kept me hooked, but it didn’t always feel fully fleshed out, especially compared to how strong the character dynamics were.
That being said… I still absolutely ate this up. It’s fast-paced, addictive, and perfect when you’re in the mood for something easy to binge.
Brutal Bodyguards by Jaye Pratt is a filthy, fast-paced, and addictively intense why choose novella that blends danger, obsession, and raw passion into one perfect masked fantasy.
Maddie, the sister of a rock star, just wants freedom after a stalker ruins her privacy. Her father’s solution? Three bodyguards — Ace, Rhodes, and Vander — who shadow her every move. They’re supposed to protect her, not consume her… but these men have a secret. The masked strangers who’ve been chasing, teasing, and claiming her in her hidden escapades? It’s been them all along.
From the moment Rhodes growls “Running just makes it better for us,” you know this story isn’t playing soft. Each man brings something different — Ace’s dominance, Rhodes’s humor, Vander’s broody silence — and together they’re her undoing. Between the glowing masks, the hand-on-throat moments, and lines like “Good girls get exactly what they asked for,” this novella hits every dark, delicious fantasy.
When Maddie discovers their deception, she’s furious — and heartbroken. But no matter how hard she tries to pull away, the chemistry is undeniable. They’re obsessed, possessive, and utterly hers. The tension crackles, the emotion surprises, and by the time the masks come off for good, you’re begging for more.
Steamy, dirty, and wildly addictive, Brutal Bodyguards proves that sometimes danger feels like home — especially when it wears a mask.
I’ve read every book in this series, and this was my first time as an ARC reader. I was not disappointed; each book gets better as the series unfolds. The FMC, Maddie, has three sexy bodyguards because she’s being stalked by someone who mistook her rockstar brother for her boyfriend. Tired of losing her privacy, she’s convinced by a friend to set up a fantasy encounter through the Wild Steps website, where she wants to be chased by three anonymous masked men. Ace, Van, and Rhodes, her bodyguards, are determined to protect her at all costs, so they take on the roles of the masked men themselves. One night, things go wrong, the masks come off, and Maddie is left confused and upset. Is she too angry to forgive them? You’ll have to read this book to find out but trust me—you won’t be disappointed. This is a spicy, delicious, why choose MMFM romance with forced proximity and primal play. “Brutal Bodyguards” releases March 1, 2026, and is available for pre-order now.
This book grabbed me by the collar and refused to let go. Fast, intense, and dangerously bingeable, Brutal Bodyguards delivers tension on every page with a protection trope that feels fierce rather than fluffy. Loyalty, secrets, and emotional landmines kept me flipping pages way past bedtime. 🔥
Maddie is exactly the kind of heroine I root for. Fearless, stubborn, and entirely unapologetic. She doesn’t shrink to fit anyone’s expectations, and watching her stand her ground was wildly satisfying. Bonus points for her photographer life. There is something beautiful about a character who sees the world through a lens while chaos unfolds around her.
Now let’s talk about the bodyguards. This lineup is lethal in the best way. Different personalities, shared intensity, and a collective “touch her and regret it” vibe that had me hooked instantly. And Rhodes? Elite tier book boyfriend material. Calm power is simply unfair.
Jaye has a talent for creating stories that feel cinematic while still packing an emotional punch. If you love high-stakes romance with protective energy and characters that practically vibrate off the page, move this one to the top of your TBR immediately.
Thank you Jaye Pratt for the free copy, I have chosen to leave an honest review.
Protection detail, masked men, and a whole lot of spice — Brutal Bodyguards delivers all of this and more.
Maddie wants nothing more than a normal life, one where she isn’t being watched 24/7. But having a rock‑star brother keeps her firmly in the spotlight, and her bodyguards are meant to keep her safe at all times. Maddie, however, has other plans.
One impulsive choice — three masked strangers and a moment of freedom — is where everything begins to unravel.
Ace, Vander, and Rhodes will do anything to protect her, even when it means crossing lines they shouldn’t.
The boundaries blur quickly, feelings surface, and long‑buried truths start to rise.
This story moves fast — a chase of pleasure, danger, and temptation that never slows down. It’s bold, chaotic, and unapologetically spicy, with that addictive “just one more chapter” energy.
Trigger Warnings (General guidance — check the author for the full list) • Violence • Threats / kidnapping themes • Stalking • Sexual content • Power imbalance dynamics
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ High — explicit, frequent, and very much the focus.
Maddie is the sister of a famous musician and has a possessive crazed stalker (not even the type we like in these books) as a precaution her dad hires multiple bodyguards for her and while they are nice to look at she feels so trapped and like all her freedom has been taken away. In a bid to fight back and have some fun she follows her best friends advice and signs up to Wild Steps the online kink/masked men website, some fun with men who she doesn't have to get complicated with and who are contracted to bring the spice then go away, perfect. Her bodyguards Ace, Vander and Rhodes find out about her signing up though and decide that it's not a risk they are willing to let her take, to remove the risk they put themselves in the masks and hope for the best.
I'm biased at this point about these books but I honestly do love them, they are smut heavy (damn good smut too), the characters are complex and different enough to make each book entirely its own and the underlying story of this just like the others is great too. It's got suspense, action, lust, romance, spice and humor too.
Now please excuse me while I go and find myself a Vander because my god that man alone makes the book worth an instant reread 🥵
“I’m 23 Ace I don’t throw tantrums I make a traumatic exit”
Another exciting addition to her masked men series, “Brutal Bodyguards,” by Jaye Pratt, offers romance enthusiasts a passionate blend of Forced Proximity, Why Choose, Masked Men, and plenty of spice, skillfully combining suspense and emotion to create a captivating read.
The story follows Maddie, the sister of a rockstar, who finds herself surrounded by three bodyguards after facing unwanted attention from a stalker. The interactions between Maddie and her three protectors—Ace, the disciplined leader; Vander, the quiet and brooding one; and Rhodes, the charming and witty personality—bring depth and entertainment to the narrative, highlighting their contrasting personalities and motivations.
The level of depth and emotion that Pratt manages to accomplish within both the narrative and the characters in such a constricted length of writing I do find quite impressive, as it just goes to show that a story doesn’t necessarily need to be hundreds of pages long for it to be entertaining. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend reading it; it’s an engaging novella that I found very enjoyable.
Brutal Bodyguards by Jaye Pratt is a bold, spicy, and tension-filled romance written in first person from Maddie’s perspective.
Maddie is the sister of a popstar who’s being stalked, which means her overprotective father and brother insist on assigning three bodyguards to stay by her side at all times. The problem? They’re not just intimidating and protective, they’re distractingly sexy. And they absolutely ruin her attempts at having any normal fun.
Looking for control in a life where she has none, Maddie makes a risky decision: she joins an exclusive, anonymous elite club where masked strangers chase, catch, and claim you. No names. No attachments. Total anonymity. Exactly the escape she thinks she needs.
But when her bodyguards decide that her “safety” requires them to get involved, undercover, of course, the stakes rise fast. The tension, secrecy, and power dynamics make this story addictive and unpredictable.
This book is full of heat, suspense, and protective alpha energy, balanced with Maddie’s determination to live life on her own terms. If you love reverse harem vibes, bodyguard romance, high tension, and a little danger mixed with spice, this one will absolutely keep you turning the pages.
The book follows Maddie, the sister of a famous rock star, who’s stuck with three overprotective bodyguards, after a stalker threatens her safety. Frustrated by their constant surveillance, Maddie signs up for Wild Steps, a fantasy fulfillment service where masked strangers chase and claim her in the dark. But when the masks come off, she discovers her bodyguards have been playing her all along. Betrayal, anger, and a whole lot of steamy tension as Maddie navigates her complicated feelings for the men sworn to protect her, even if they lied to get close to her. The book is packed with heat, possessive energy and mixed feelings. The spice in the book is steamy and the chase scenes, power dynamics and group dynamics are intense. Loved that two guys where also “boyfriends”. Look, I get why the bodyguards lied (safety, control, etc.), but the lack of communication got old fast. Maddie’s anger is totally valid, and the way the guys justified their actions without fully addressing the breach of trust left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted more groveling, more emotional resolution. A quick, dirty read when you’re in the mood for bodyguard romance, chase scenes, and possessive energy. Just don’t expect deep emotional payoff, this one’s all about the heat and the drama.
Another great Masked Men read from Jaye. As always this book is fast paced, deliciously spicy and has the perfect amount of tension. This time we are dealing with Maddie and her 3 body guards; Ace (the sensible one), Vander (the silent broody one) and Rhodes (the funny cheeky one). When Maddie decides she needs some freedom after being lumped with ANOTHER bodyguard due to her brother’s fame (and a crazy stalker) she decides to enlist Wild Steps to help. But little does she know that the 3 men who want to keep her safe, also want her to themselves. And so they step in, wearing the masks, doing the chasing and providing multiple… Os 💥 What ensues is unbelievably hot but of course also devastating when Maddie finds out who the men are and the secret they’ve been keeping from her. Despite this, there is a beautiful and sexy HEA ❤️ I really enjoyed the different settings of each chase and as always the dynamic between the men was awesome. It’s always more fun when two of the FMCs boyfriends are also boyfriends together :p Overall I throughly enjoyed this and looked forward to the next book in the series!
This novella is short, to the point, and spicy. It is a why choose with bodyguards, masked men, a stalker, primal play, mm, and a happy ending.
Maddie has a stalker because someone mistook her for her rock star brother's girlfriend. Her dad has hired bodyguards to protect her, even though she doesn't want to be babysat. Her friend convinces her to sign up for Wild Steps, a website that caters to your fantasies with anonymous people. Her bodyguards take it into their own hands to keep her safe.
This masked men book seemed rushed and shorter than the other books in the series. It does follow the cookie-cutter style these books have: three guys, two of them together, masked and chasing, surprise find out, etc. This one was pretty straight to the point and didn't have a whole lot of story. I do wish these books would mix it up a little. Have two guys or four guys, more mm or no mm, I don't know. Just something different so it doesn't feel like I'm reading the same book over and over just with the jobs and names changed. If you're looking for a short and spicy read, then you'll enjoy this.
I'm completely addicted to this Why Choose series.
Reading these books feels like diving into my subconscious and bringing all those sweet yet spicy dreams to the surface. I absolutely love it.
Since they’re novels, they’re not very long, but they give us just enough to truly get to know the characters—what led them to this point and how and why their paths cross. The moments between them are incredibly sensual. All the books share one thing in common: they are super spicy, and the element of the unknown makes everything even more exhilarating.
Each book can be read as a standalone, although characters from other books can make appearances—which I think is great.
This novel focuses on how the bodyguards (MMCs), who are hired to protect our FMC, go above and beyond to ensure her safety. Our bratty FMC doesn’t make things easy for them, but they don’t let the challenges stop them. Her attitude keeps them constantly on their toes.
Another thing I have to highlight is the original and wonderful way the author provides content warnings. It’s always a pleasure to read her notes.
Our girl is just trying to live her quiet little life, but no.... being the sister of a rock star apparently comes with bonus chaos, including a stalker who needs a hobby immediately. And to “fix” things, her dad hires three bodyguards who hover like overcaffeinated drones. Helpful? Maybe. Annoying? Absolutely!?!?!
Naturally, she finds Wild Steps.... the one place where she can breathe without someone monitoring her like a flight risk. The mystery, the anonymity, the thrill of being chased through abandoned malls? Honestly, I was rooting for it. It’s the most fun she’s had since her life got turned upside down.
And THEN, plot twist of the year, the masked men she trusted turn out to be her bodyguards. Yep. The same men who spend their days trailing her like emotionally constipated shadows. The betrayal? Chef’s kiss. Her reaction? Deserved!
Even when she storms off, joins her brother’s tour, and tells them to go contemplate their life choices, the emotional messiness doesn’t magically disappear. Because feelings are annoying like that.
This book serves drama, tension, adrenaline, and just enough chaos to keep you flipping pages like your life depends on it.
Dark, Protective, and Completely Addictive Brutal Bodyguards by Jaye Pratt was everything I want in a dark bodyguard romance and more. From the very beginning, the tension is intense and the danger feels real, which makes the chemistry between the characters even more electric. The bodyguards are ruthless, possessive, and completely unapologetic when it comes to protecting her. I loved the balance between their brutal, no-nonsense exterior and the softer moments that slowly peek through. The forced proximity and constant threat surrounding them keeps the story moving fast, and the emotional stakes hit just as hard as the action. The dynamic between all the characters felt layered and engaging, and the romance had that addictive push-and-pull that makes it impossible to stop reading. It’s steamy, suspenseful, and packed with alpha energy without losing the emotional core of the story. If you’re into dark romance, protective heroes, high tension, and morally gray men who would do anything to keep their girl safe, Brutal Bodyguards is absolutely worth picking up.
If you are a fan of masked men, why choose, and overprotective, obsessed men then Brutal Bodyguards is a must read! Maddie's brother is part of a famous rock band. Maddie is having issues with a stalker. She already has two sexy body guards protecting her. But with the escalation of threats they hire a third for digital security. Maddie is sassy, funny, and wants to have a little bit of fun. Her bestie's fiances run Wild Steps, a service that allows a person's wildest fantasies to be fulfilled by masked strangers. Maddie decides she needs some excitement so she decides to go for it. But her masked men aren't as unconnected to her as she thought.
I loved the relationship Maddie had with each of her men. Ace is definitely the leader and she loves to push his buttons. Rhodes or Dimples is the flirty playful fella. I love the banter between them. Then there is my bae Vander. He is intense, sweet, and I can't get enough of him! Once again, this was another amazing masked men novella by Jaye Pratt. I can't wait to see what comes next!
Brutal Bodyguards by Jaye Pratt is dark, addictive, and packed with tension from the very first page. Maddie is desperate for freedom after being saddled with constant protection due to her famous brother and a dangerous stalker. Her three bodyguards — sensible Ace, broody Vander, and cheeky Rhodes — are meant to keep her safe… but they also want her for themselves. When they step in behind masks to chase her, the chemistry explodes. The dynamic between the men is as hot as it is loyal (and yes, the shared boyfriend energy makes it even better). The chases are thrilling, the secrets are devastating, and the “touch her and you die” possessiveness is off the charts. Angsty, steamy, and wrapped up with a sexy HEA — this one absolutely delivers. If you love: * Dark romance * Protective, morally grey bodyguards * Reverse harem tension * High stakes and higher heat Then Brutal Bodyguards absolutely delivers. Jaye Pratt never holds back — and neither do her brutal boys.
This is the eleventh book in the Masked Men series. There will be a total of 12 books in this series once the last one is released. I have read almost half of the books and need to read the other half. I love this series and was excited to read this newest release. This FMC is such a brat and I love watching her act out. The way she tries to stick it to her “babysitters.” She is sassy and such a risk taker! She really needs a spanking and I know who may be up for the job…The MMCs are protective, smexy and good at their job. And they know she will keep them on their toes. Thank you, Jaye Pratt, for this steamy and spicy story! I loved it! I was up late reading this story because I could not sleep until I finished this book! I’ll be sleepy tomorrow at work but it was so worth it! Once the last book in this series is released, I plan to binge read all 12 books. That’s gonna be a long weekend of reading!!
I can not get enough of these masked men novella's! They are epic in every single way. Who wouldn't want to fulfil their deepest and darkest desires and have some strangers chase you through the woods? Well me, for one!! What a fantasy! And being convinced by her best friend, Riley to sign up to Wild Steps, Maddie prepares for her very own wild ride. The masked men are anonymous and so is she. No names, just some wicked hot fun. In the dark. In the woods!!
"Your fantasy has been approved". Let the games begin!
So as to keep her safe, her three bodyguards, Vander, Rhodes and Ace enrol the help of Archer, one of Riley's fiance', to allow them to be the 3 masked "strangers"
This story is no different to all the others, with dark scenes being played out as Maddie meets her masked strangers and allows them to fulfil her darkest desires. But, what happens when she finds out that her masked strangers are not strangers after all. The lies and deception are too much for Maddie to process, so she takes reprieve with her brother and his band and leave to go on tour with them. Now Vaden, Rhodes and Ace have the challenge of winning their girls forgiveness and heart back where it belongs. With them! A dark romance that ticks all the boxes for me and a very enjoyable ride. A quick easy read that gives Maddie her HEA.
I’m a massive fan of any of Jaye Pratt’s masked men books, & this is no different.
Maddie is the sister of a rock star, followed by three bodyguards after she gains a stalker. But these bodyguards have more than just her protection on their minds, they want to give her pleasure too. So when she signs up for Wild Steps, a website that brings fantasy to reality, her bodyguards step up. You see, she wants to be chased down by three anonymous masked men, but Ace, Vander & Rhodes won’t allow anyone unvetted near her. Good job the owner of the site is one of Maddie’s best friends partners, who can arrange for Ace, Vander & Rhodes to be her masked men. But when the masks come off, can Maddie forgive the guys for lying to her all along? Will they be able to prove themselves to her?
This is a MMFM forced proximity, masked men romance with primal play & who choose & it’s delicious.
