Very solid book I actually really like her books and reading material very practical to the point and sincere.
One concept I took from this book was to be grateful for your debt.
I thought that was an interesting take because when you have debt, there’s always the negative feelings surrounding it and that you have to hurry up and pay it and get it done get it over with.
However, you need to realize that your debt did allow you to do something. Some people take on debt as their only way to go to medical school or some other endeavour
For instance, when I accumulated my debt, it allowed me to purchase my home and was able to still meeting a bit of my lifestyle while it was working on a way to pay it down at the time it made me feel bad every day, but with this perspective being grateful for my debt would could be a game changer
Even though I still have debt now, I thanked it for being present and helping me maintain my lifestyle, but also acknowledge that I will be paying it down soon. So right now we have to coexist temporarily. Seems strange but actually very relieving. They were lots of other great advice, but that one stuck to me on this read.
Your Debt Plan by Rachel Rodgers is a motivating and approachable audiobook that reframes how we think about debt—less shame, more strategy. Rachel’s tone is empowering and confident, making the audiobook feel like a supportive coaching session rather than a financial lecture. I really appreciated how she focuses on mindset just as much as the numbers. The encouragement to stop seeing debt as a personal failure and start viewing it as a solvable system was refreshing and honestly needed. The audiobook format works especially well here—Rachel’s delivery adds warmth and urgency to the message. That said, if you’re already familiar with budgeting or debt payoff strategies, some of the advice may feel a bit repetitive or high-level. I would have loved a few more concrete, step-by-step examples or deeper breakdowns for different financial situations. Overall, Your Debt Plan is a great listen for anyone feeling overwhelmed or discouraged by debt. It’s inspiring, confidence-boosting, and a solid starting point for reclaiming control of your finances—even if it doesn’t dive quite as deep as I hoped.
Very informational and encouraging! Not without a helping of curse words. But a helpful book overall :)
I wish I could find a paper form of the book or some worksheets that go along with what she’s saying so I didn’t just have to transcribe the good parts. Especially with being a book about making life changes, it’d be helpful to have a workbook or something to go with it.
This was a great quick read! The information in this book was amazing, love the tips on the mindset to get out of debt, the tips on how to earn more income. This was motivational and realistic and I am excited for my debt free journey this year.
unfortunately I found this debt "plan" to be harmless but useless to me. here's the plan: step one: think of a great business idea step two: watch the money start rolling in step three: use the money to pay off your debt
