Witch & Wolf

Rate this book
A prickly witch. A golden-retriever werewolf. And a spell that shoves them closer than either expected.

Mellie has spent years hiding in her remote cabin, keeping her magic—and her guilt—far from anyone who could get hurt.

Then Jonas finds her.

Fresh-faced, eager, and unmistakably her fated mate, the young werewolf has been following her scent for weeks. But in her desperation to keep him out, Mellie's magic misfires and binds the two of them together..

Now they can’t get more than an arm’s length apart.

Jonas thinks this is fate. Mellie thinks it’s a disaster waiting to happen. But the closer they’re forced to stay, the harder it becomes to ignore the heat between them.

A steamy fated-mates paranormal short age gap, forced proximity, virgin MMC, emotional healing, and explicit, consensual heat.

Oh..this was so endearing. I might have to read this again, but I'm sad that this wasn't a longer story. I would love to read more about Mellie and Jonas. Jonas definitely was a major golden retriever...he was so adorable. I don't usually like age gap, but this worked for me even though I don't know Mellie's exact age..plus it was a reverse age gap which I don't see often.

There were a lot of good lines that the characters used to describe one another. I smiled a lot. I guess I'm in a very sentimental mood right now. The author made good use of magic. Yes, there are several tropes, but don't all fiction have some kind of trope?

I've only read one other witch and wolf shifter romance, but I really dig this kind of pairing. I want to find more witch and shifter books. This story also reminded me of other novels with a witch FMC who needed healing and needed to forgive herself.

I also want to look into more works by this author. Even though the book was super short, I'll definitely be thinking about this delightful couple for a long time.
