Some describe it as the town at the edge of the world.
When Melody and Michael Devereux come to Collinsport on their honeymoon, they don't know the secrets that are hidden behind closed doors. But those secrets will be unearthed when an innocent is viciously murdered.
Collinsport will be a town divided. One woman's rise to power will lead to further death and destruction. Families will be ripped apart. Blood will be spilt.
And the dark forces that wait in the shadows will wait no more. For in Collinsport, death is never the end...
Friends old and new are coming to Collinsport. But this isn't a time for celebration. A murderer is on the loose and supernatural forces are involved, everyone is a suspect.
EPISODE SEVEN: What an intense episode! A more political episode in the series leads to be one of the most shocking, intense, wonderful and draining episodes in the series so far! This episode truly brought out the best in all the actors and it's absolutely terrific. There was a nice surprise half way through this episode and when I felt hope, it absolutely crushed it straight away and by the end of this episode I just felt so hopeless and drained. But in a brilliant way! 10/10
EPISODE EIGHT: As paranoia continues to grow in Collinsport. The catastrophic mayhem is just beginning. Another fantastic episode with a fearful Quentin and the paranoia of the townsfolk growing. There was one shocking moment in this episode which really made me feel sad for this character. (If you've listened to this episode you'll know what I mean). The series continues to get more intense as we come closer to it's eventual conclusion 9/10
EPISODE NINE: As Collinsport descends into madness. Baranbas Collins is being called to Widow's Hill, where he finds a familiar face. Angelique attempts to see what goes on in the great house of Collinwood, but something blocks her. Something terrible is happening, that nobody has considered and they might just have to pay the price. Another fantastic episode with a fantastic cliffhanger that could change everything. 9/10
EPISODE TEN: Amy, Tommy Cummingham and Quentin Collins investigate the big house on the hill, only to find themselves in more danger. This was was a brilliant episode with twist and turns and an incredible cliffhanger! 10/10
EPISODE ELEVEN: The End draws near. Questions are being answered and soon people will join together to end the chaos. This was a fantastic episode with great performances, shocks and twists. 10/10
EPISODE TWELVE: Maggie Evans has a decision to make, but she needs the help of a witch. A witch who might help her make a terrible decision. But of course the end's justify the means. But she will have to face the consequences of her actions. An immensely powerful episode of a two hander between Kathryn Lee Scott and Lara Parker as Maggie and Angelique. 10/10
EPISODE THIRTEEN: As the end finally draws near, everyone must team together to stop the end of everything, but at a cost. This was an incredible way to end off the series, everything has been revealed, character arc's are concluded and the killer's revealed. The series ends off in a very powerful and emotional way that by the time I had finished listening to it, I felt like crying my eyes out. 10/10
The cast did a fantastic job on this series and Josepth Lidster, Will Howells and Alan Flanagan the writers of this incredible series, have truly produced one of the best audios I have ever experienced from Big Finish! I can't wait to listen to Bloodline to see how the story continues!
Long and a bit convoluted, it wrapped up quickly. While it was easy for me to identify the longtime Dark Shadows stars by their voices, sometimes the newer characters confused me. However, it was an enjoyable listen. They threw everything into the mix here: Vampires, witches, werewolves, and Count Petofi.
