Hayes Morrison is everything I can't stand. He's the Chicago Reapers' star center—arrogant, cocky, and convinced his talent excuses his attitude.
When I'm hired as the team's first female performance analyst, he makes it clear he doesn't need some "analyst with a laptop" telling him how to play hockey.
Too bad Chicago rent is insane, and his penthouse has a spare room. Living with Hayes is torture. He cooks shirtless. Walks around in towels. Argues with every single one of my professional critiques. And worst of all? He's stupidly, annoyingly, impossibly attractive.
I can handle the tension. The late-night kitchen encounters. The way his eyes darken when he looks at me.
What I can't handle is waking up in his bed after a Halloween party—with absolutely zero memory of how we got there and a pregnancy test that changes everything.
HAYES
Riley Carter walked into my life and turned it upside down. She's brilliant, beautiful, and completely immune to my charm. She analyzes my game with brutal honesty, calls out my mistakes in front of the entire team, and refuses to be impressed by... anything about me. Naturally, I'm obsessed.
Living together was supposed to be temporary. Professional. A convenient arrangement. Then Halloween happened. Then two pink lines. Then suddenly the woman who won't even look at me during team meetings is carrying my baby. Riley thinks her career will be destroyed if anyone finds out.
She's terrified of the judgment, the scrutiny, the whispers that she slept her way into her position. But I don't care what anyone thinks. She's mine. The baby is mine. And I'll burn down anyone who tries to hurt either of them.
I just need to convince Riley that what we have is worth fighting for. Even if it means risking everything.

DNF at 12%. If I hadn't read that disaster of a hockey romance last night, I may have held on a little longer, but two bad books in 2 days is too much. Neither main character has a real personality, the timelines keep jumping and contradicting each other, their behavior and interactions are abnormal, the set up is unrealistic. The h is doing that "faking anger to hide raw animal lust" or some bullshit, the H isn't likeable and seems to be a bit of an asshole man-child and not in a good way. In a "I'm not emotionally mature enough to take professional constructive criticism" way. Nope, I'm not that desperate. Next book
