Rate this book
A lonely farmer stumbles through life after the brutal murder of their only child. That is, if you can even call it life. There's nothing left to live for save for a pitiful garden, a small herd of goats, and grainy memories captured on VHS tapes.

But there's something else. A shadowy presence that lurks just out of sight and whispers into the mind of the farmer. It wants something. Something awful. And if the farmer gives in to these demands... Well, nothing good can come of it, no matter how much the grieving parent wants retribution for what happened that fateful night.

Poetic and tragic, this is a story about life, death, and all the suffering in between. "I Spit On Your Grave" meets "The Tracey Fragments" and "Ghost Eaters" in this gruesome, psychedelic, folk horror story by Stephanie Anne.

Hi, my name is Stephanie Anne!

I’m an oddball extraordinaire, and I love all things strange and monstrous. Specializing in disturbing and domestic horror, I enjoy making people uncomfortable.

My stories may not be scary in the “jumpscare” sense, but after reading one of my books you’ll never look at certain every-day things the same way again. If you like unsettling tales of torment and trauma, you're in for a treat.

My writing assistants are Minerva, Finn, Bubs, and Janey. Unfortunately, these free-spirited felines like to sleep on the job. That is, when they aren’t stepping on my keyboard and adding extra words to my books.

Stay Spooky!

Review of advance copy received from Author

I am here once again to leave a review on the only horror books I read: exclusively Stephanie Anne. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of the book. I will try and keep my review spoiler free.

This was also my first time reading a book in second person. Not an entirely foreign concept as I play D&D, but it was an interesting POV for a book.

Its certainly a tricky perspective, but I felt myself almost instantly resonate with the character. You know pretty quickly and immediately the direction the book is taking (in true Stephanie Anne fashion) but what you think you should be grotesqued by suddenly feels right, feels justified, feels euphoric.

Part of the reason this review will be spoiler free is the fact I'm having difficulty putting together words to properly express how this book made me feel. Theres a conflict of emotions and questioning morals that come with reading this book. A sympathetic heart, a matching searing rage, a relatable guideless haze. Everyone's experience with this book will be different, as we are all different and will picture the book in our own perspectives.

I can't recommend this book enough. Definitely pick it up!

And my parting words: Fuck you, James.
