As the trio navigates their unconventional relationship, they pivot from food-truck complications to the high-stakes world of competitive barbecue. Mari's expertise transforms their operation, but choosing this path means defying her controlling father and risking everything she's built with her found family.
Smoke, spice, and sizzling chemistry collide as Ryan learns to manage more than just fire—he's balancing two incredible women, perfecting brisket under pressure, and discovering that the best things in life can't be optimized with spreadsheets. With witty banter, explicit heat, and mouth-watering barbecue in this contemporary harem romance. Watch as a burnt-out billionaire, a free-spirited culinary dropout, and a determined Latina build more than championship barbecue—they're building a family.

Fiery Flirt is the second book of the Chef's Kiss Barbecue series. A slow-burning, slice-of-life, age-gap contemporary romance series that melds Texas barbecue culture, RV/van life coastal adventure, competition barbecue, and digital nomad lifestyle. Sharp humor, witty banter, and nerd culture combine in this harem romance of midlife reinvention.
Mack Landry delivers to full expectations, a masterful extension of interpersonal characters building a tight knit team that goes much deeper than just a business team, their building a family. Amidst the Gulf Coast scenery of Corpus Christi, this is a no frills operation living out of a RV, dealing with old mindsets and forging new bonds. You can almost taste the brisket coming off the screen.

Thanks to Booksprout and the author for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion. The first book in the series set the scene for the 'men's romance' genre and this book continues with lots more information about smoking meat as well as sexy scenes in Ryan's lovelife. I can understand the appeal for men, but I found it interesting too, and I found the detail of creating the business and entering competed absorbing. I admire the way the author covers the issues of consent and agreement, creating an interesting dynamic between the main characters and the sexy scenes are steamy. The ending of the book creates opportunities in more ways than one!
Piper and Ryan both feel the connection with Mari. After setting up some solid plans for the food truck they confront the attraction they have for each other. They have an honest conversation about what everyone expects and wants, to become intimate partners. Their plans for a food truck are put on pause and they switch gears to create their own competition team. Their first competition is in Port Aransas. They notice the Korean fusion truck woman, Hana, competing by herself. When Hana stops by to talk with them they feel the same connection with Hana.

This book picks up with Mari coming over to talk with Piper and Ryan about starting the food truck. They lay down the logistics and agree, but then change their minds after a run in with Mari's father. Now they are going to do competitions. They meet Hana, who is competing solo, at their first competition and invite her to join them on the next one to see if having a four person team is better than three. Ready for the next installment. Things are heating up.

This is book 2 of the series. It's very well written and the grilling and BBQ content seems very well thought out. Ryan has really found his new place in the world. Now with two partners who want to go the same direction as him. I'm loving this series can't wait for more.
