Omega Forsaken

Rate this book
They were my pack until they decided I was bad for business.

One “clean break” later, I’m shipped to the Omega Reassignment Center and handed to a pack that shows me exactly how disposable an omega can be.

Two years later, I run… and the alphas who abandoned me are the ones who find me.

Aiden. Finn. Mace. Powerful, possessive, and drowning in regret. They swear they’ll bring me home. They swear they’ll make it right. But my omega remembers the bond and my trauma remembers the truth.

Trigger warnings! There is SA in this book, NOT by the main pack.

This was bad, really really badly written.
Everyone was OTT cruel & mean to the FMC, so bad that it was almost comical.
And the FMC never spoke up, never complained & was very meek & silent.
Zero personality.
The mmcs were big jerk, 1 2nd dude had no personality & 3rd was supposed sweetie but a total wet noodle, he kinda sorta got upset when dumping their Omega off at the center but not enough to tell tge big jerk alpha no. That was how you tell them apart.

They were all bonded with her so how they were able to dump her off at a center tgat was more like a prison (she wasn't allowed to bring any belongings) while still bonded? None of it was explained.

The main mmc Mace was abusive to the FMC. He preferred his women thin so she starved herself. He got pissy when she would go into heats so he put her on suppressants. He was over the top cruel & mean to her to the point t that she got yelled at constantly.

It reads like abuse porn.

It also reads like AI in parts & I'm pretty sure it is AI because this was soooooooo bad.

Loved it!

Hope this isn't a spoiler, but I'm still hatin' on Mace. He's just such an alphahole! Loved Finn and Geo. Lots to get through in this book. And lots more for future installment s in the series!

This is the 3rd book in this series and as much as I love these short little reads, they are sounding pretty repetitive. I felt the issue that was the cause for all the grovelling was really rushed and could have been solved with one conversation rather than a year of torture for the FMC

The grovel was okay, but even so I don't think I could ever forgive the previous treatment and rejection, and good reasons for it were never really given.

I’m gonna need emotional restitution

I said this before, and I will say it again…if an author does not want to commit to a certain length of book to properly hash out all of the wrongs and injustices done against the FMC, in this case from the original pack, then the magnitude or seriousness of the crime needs to be reduced or rewritten to something less awful. If you don’t take the time to let the characters properly atone for their sins, it feels like secondhand emotional abuse reading these stories. All of the other reviewers were totally correct. There was not nearly enough groveling or decent explanation for why they abused her before. because that’s what it was folks the original pack abused her. Maybe not like the second pack abused her, but it was still abuse nonetheless. the author never even made mace acknowledge why he treated her like crap (the irritation and eating constraints) beyond them deciding to give her up because they said they weren’t giving her enough attention. There also was never a decent explanation given for why the FMC didn’t realize they were scent matches and why that faded and why the alphas would have been able to even give their scent match away. They also have a tracker in her arm, but then one of the crappy excuses they give her after admitting they could feel her fear and pain in the bond from time to time is that they didn’t know where she was, but they already said they had a tracker in her and that’s how they could find her when she first ran away, so that doesn’t make any sense at all. You’re telling me these multi billionaires couldn’t have done anything at all to contact her and make sure that she was actually OK when they could still feel her being abused in the bond? Get real. I genuinely believe that if the reader isn’t of a certain strength of mind or character, it could be damaging for them to read a story like this because maybe they think that if you do some token things like buy some expensive stuff and you know say some nice things maybe you can get past something like that, but based on what was written, there should not have been any type of forgiveness in the end or maybe forgive but go back to them?!!!. She should’ve taken Geo and left them. Geo’s character is the only reason why this book didn’t get one star.

So, I specifically read rejected mates/second chance romances for the pathetic men that have to grovel for forgiveness. Omega Forsaken was close to exactly what I wanted except for the fact that the trauma that the FMC went through should have meant that none of those men deserved forgiveness. Honestly, she was assaulted, raped, and brutalized from the moment they "rehomed" her. They didn't deserve an ounce of forgiveness.

What turned it all around for me was Geo. He was the agent that the FMC was assigned after she escaped her second pack. He was sweet and wholesome and I absolutely loved him. Honestly, all of the MMCs except Mace were good. Aiden was fairly bland, like lack of a personality bland. Finn was soft and obsessed with Liora. Mace was garbage. He was the reason for the initial rejection. He was pretty controlling and mean before the rejection (controlling weight and appearance.) He didn't deserve anything from Liora.

I really did enjoy this. I didn't think that the MMCs were awful for the most part. Mace probably could have been ditched and I would have been happier. The pacing was perfect. The romance building was well done. I think there probably should have been more mental health care put into this. Liora was traumatized and it seemed that her trauma was healed with knotting, and that's a weird choice. But it was a good, short read.

The idea is solid, but it needs major tweaks. The characters lack depth, emotional intelligence, and clear motivation.

There’s no believable reason for the rejection beyond the fact that it needs to happen so she can be sent to the other pack to experience trauma. The FMC is weak and timid, then shipped off and abused, and somehow emerges from that with a backbone strong enough to stand up to her original pack when they want her back. The transformation doesn’t feel earned or developed on the page.

Again, the concept itself is strong and could have made for a compelling read, but it ultimately falls flat. The writing isn’t at the level it needs to be to fully execute the story the author seems to be aiming for. This isn’t something simple editing could fix, it comes down to craft. I think if the author stepped back, read well-written books in this genre, and evaluated this book objectively, they would be better able to identify where it needs work.

The bones are intriguing

I think the base storyline is interesting but it needed to be flushed out more. Liora seemingly had no lingering signs of trauma from the abrupt rejection, her time at the facility, or with Pack Parker. She forgave her original pack for throwing her away for what reason? Because they felt bad and regretted it? Because they made a unilateral decision about what they thought was best for her when really it was about their convenience?

Even the nicest woman wouldn't be, "Oh, you thought I'd be given to a nice pack? *sigh* You really were thinking of my well being and thought you were doing the right thing. Hakuna Matata! Let's fall right back into our relationship like you hadn't dropped me off like a pet at a shelter."

Again, the bones of the story are intriguing and if things were flushed out more and went a little deeper, I think the story could be a really good one.

2.5 estrellas.

Good

An interesting story with emotional turmoil, heartbreak, grief, sadness and hopelessness that made me able to connect with her character. The chapters played out in a well structured way leading to a second chance at happiness for them.

Some spelling and grammatical errors that can be fixed with editing. Aside from that, great plot and characters. I think this might be my favorite book in the series.
