Olivia never meant to kiss a rockstar—especially not one who might break her in all the ways her ex couldn’t.
A week-long writers’ conference was supposed to be Olivia Bennet’s reset button—a chance to restart her life and career on her own terms. After years with an abusive ex who taught her she was “too much,” she’s still learning how to stand in her new life, her new body, and her hard-won freedom without shrinking.
But a panic attack sends her hiding behind a curtain… and straight into Ryder Black, the magnetic frontman of The Valley Between.
Their unexpected kiss cracks something open—something Olivia isn’t sure she’s ready for and Ryder never expected to feel again. He sees her. All of her. And he’s determined to show her she was never too much—her ex was never enough.
The problem? Ryder isn’t the only one falling.
Jake’s charm.
Noah’s quiet intensity.
Sean’s sharp-edged attention.
Each of them pulls Olivia deeper into their orbit, whether she’s ready or not.
After a past poly relationship nearly destroyed their band, they swore they’d never cross that line again. But Olivia is everything they weren’t looking for… and everything they can’t resist.
As feelings deepen and jealousy threatens to tear everything apart, Olivia must decide whether she’s brave enough to want more than one kind of love—and whether this time, choosing herself might finally mean being chosen in return.
Rhythm of Your Heart is a steamy, emotionally rich rockstar why-choose romance about trauma healing, found connection, and heroines who finally learn they were never “too much” after all.
I was quickly pulled into the story and rooting for Liv to get a happy ending. She's a strong character who left an abusive ex and is still working to undo the damage he caused and accept that she deserves better. Liv and Ryder have an instant connection, and when the other guys arrive, she fits with them too. Unfortunately, Ryder's jealousy and lies and a family emergency get in the way of Liv and the band's happily ever after, so I'll have to wait until book 2 to see if Ryder can fix the damage he caused.
This book is written with alternating POVs. I like getting to see each character's perspective and a glimpse into their internal thoughts, but I didn't totally like that the same scene would basically be repeated, just from the other person's point of view. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to book 2 since book 1 doesn't really end on a cliff hanger but definitely leaves the story unresolved.
Oh my gosh, this book made you feel ALL of the feelings and emotions! I did not want it to end and I cannot wait to read the second one! Each POV left you feeling a completely different emotion, every one of them told a different story, showed a different side of themselves and I felt like I was actually in their heads, feeling what they felt! It absolutely left me wanting to keep reading and wanting to know what happened next! It does not end with a cliffhanger but definitely keeps you ready for the next book! I cannot wait to see what’s in store for Olivia, Ryder, Sean, Noah and Jake!
