TARIAN IS MY NEW DARK FAE BOYFRIEND!!! I can't say enough about this character. He is sexy to the extreme and he is dark at times and highly dangerous, but only to the right people- the ones who deserve his darkness. But to our FMC Daisy he would burn the world down for her and destroy anyone who touches her. Diamond Dust is the 2nd book in the Shadowbound Fae series and is excellent. It has everything you want in a romantasy type book- action, tournaments, plotting, found family, and of course, spicy spice time. Daisy has the best character development. She starts off in book one riddled with self doubt and views herself sometimes as just a weak human, due to her lack of magic in this world full of it, but by the end of the 2nd book she is confident and strong and is a complete bad ass! I just fell in love with Tarian and Daisy and they will live rent free in my head for a long time to come. K. F. Breene knows how to weave a story that makes you feel totally immersed in that world in which you are reading. I wish I could go back and read them like it was my first time. I don't want to say too much about the happenings within the story as to not give away any spoilers, but trust me when I tell you that you won't be disappointed. Make sure to check your trigger warnings and most of all have fun.
Daisy for the win! She is the one that many forgot, quietly become ruthless with an equally sharp wit! And thank the gods for that! Diamond Dust is the exceptional conclusion to Obsidian filled with love, intrigue, tragedy and triumph with humor and snark sprinkles. While Diamond Dust seems to conclude the duet, with K.F. Breene we can always hope for more!
This was such a fun read. Book two picks up right where book 1 left off. We are given trials, but also a story of found family and the lengths they will go to for each other. The romance is sexy and voyeuristic, and Breene does a fun play on challenging gender roles, with fun banter, a tough FMC And some steamy buildup. Lots of fun, and humor mixed into this suspenseful conclusion.
