The Pregnant Amish Daughter: An Amish Christmas Romance of Mercy

Rate this book
*** An Amazon #1 best-selling Amish Romance and Inspirational Romance ***
With a Christmas baby on the way, an unmarried Amish daughter must face her people, her bishop, and the baby’s father. And no one can carry this burden for her.

Rachel Eli returns to Hickory Ridge knowing one look at her growing belly will tell the story she can’t hide.
Quietly moved from her parents’ farmhouse to Widow Greta’s spare room through Advent, she kneads sweet bread for Christmas baskets and helps the schoolchildren practice carols by lantern light, wondering if there will still be a place at her own family’s table when the season ends.

Seeing Aaron Beiler again is the hardest part. The boy who once held her heart now stands stiff and distant while another girl walks beside him. The Ordnung demands he keep away; her heart hasn’t learned how. Maybe the door on them is shut for good…or maybe Gott isn’t finished yet.

As snow deepens and Christmas draws near, whispers grow perhaps the baby should be raised elsewhere, perhaps Rachel should start over far from Hickory Ridge. But with each quiet evening by the stove and every small kick beneath her heart, she must decide whether she still believes what she’s always been taught : that babies are blessings, and that Gott’s mercy can reach even her.

Warm, honest, and full of winter light, The Pregnant Amish Daughter is a clean and wholesome Amish Christmas romance about a fallen daughter, a waiting father, and the fragile hope of a new beginning. For readers who love snow-dusted farms, candlelit services, and second chances wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Step into Hickory Ridge and let Rachel’s story warm your heart this Christmas.

Rather sad. It was an interesting look into walking the Amish belief path.

What I took away from the book was that a choice made in rumspringa changed the lives of Rachel and Aaron. That choice led to Ruth dropping Aaron. Aaron is then told he can court Rachel in the spring. Aaron never seems to want Rachel or feel affection or love for her. IMO, Rachel is not even his second choice, rather what the Bishop is telling him to pursue. And poor Ruth, losing the man who was courting her because of this. I liked Rachel. She was strong. Holding her head up in her community. Refusing to give up her child for adoption. And she will be stuck with a man who loves another.

Really sad.

A peek into the Amish life

A peek into the life of an Amish young lady & man. Story centers more on the young lady but also brought in peeks of the man also. When learning of being pregnant madeleine to live with a sweet but strict Amish lady,Greta, she kindly guides Rachel.Aaron also must abide by rules of the bishops and he has guidance from Samuel. Reminds one of a 12 step protocol but all with the guidance from their believes of God. What will happen to them? The baby boy born Christmas Eve in the school house. Will they get to be a family- can Rachel see her family again?

The pregnant Amish daughter

Wow, this book was really hard to put down. It’s down to earth. It shows that people do make mistakes and there is consequences to those mistakes. But with love and guidance. Forgiveness can come. I highly recommend this book.

Probably one of the best Amish stories I've read. It's about the path to repentance and reacceptance under the Ordnung of Amish Rachel Eli and (separately) the man who got her pregnant. The style is fantastic - absolutely hypnotic. I couldn't quit reading once I started. An amazing novel.

This book was fascinating. It is closer to the way Amish handle discipline in the church than any other I have seen. That makes it a very book.
