BUY THE BOOK
That is how you do it! YES! Fanfuckintastic book and if I could give this more than 5 stars I would. I'd give it infinity stars, a smack on the ass and a high-fiving vagina (I don't know... I'm just typing). Smooth writing style, great story that keeps you glued to the pages, excellent characterization, belly butterflies sex, funny and witty comments, makes you tear up in some spots and smack your mama in another. Absolute perfection and I cant wait to read more from this author. My only complaint is I wish this had a better cover to accurately express the awesomeness within the pages. I'll write more of a review later.

I really, REALLY enjoyed Taming Kat. I absolutely adored Kat. She’s mouthy, sassy, and independent almost to a fault – she is the classic hot-tempered redhead without being clichéd. At the same time, her inexperience with the opposite sex magnifies her insecurities, especially when faced with an attractive man outside of work and it’s even worse when she is faced with Caleb. Once Caleb enters the scene, it becomes abundantly clear why Kat’s insecurities rear their ugly head – the man is a seriously sexy alpha male whose voice alone can make her shiver.
Kat Martin moved to Texas to get away from her judgmental mother and sister in hopes that she could find out who she wanted to be. While she’s not happy waitressing at the local bar, she has to in order to make ends meet so that she can afford to work at the Circle F ranch – a job she enjoys because she gets to work outside, but not what she sees herself doing for the long haul. Despite having finally lost her v-card at twenty-five, her love life is still nonexistent and the only man she responds to is the one man she has no intention of being intimate with again – Caleb McCrae. But Caleb and fate have different plans for Kat and after being attacked when leaving work one evening, Caleb comes to her aid and she soon finds that the man she’s been avoiding is now the center of her life. I have to say that Ms. Cara did something in this book that I do typically do not like, but she somehow managed to make it work in Kat and Caleb’s case. Within 24 hours of Kat’s attack, she and Caleb have sex. I usually find such a sequence of events unbelievable because the trauma from the assault would preclude sex both mentally and physically. And yet, I did not have that reaction this time. I don’t know how the author did it, but it actually felt right for them in my opinion. The interactions between Kat and Caleb are intense – the woman can argue most anything and has no problem standing up for herself. At the same time, she is sexually submissive in Caleb’s presence and this adds to the intimacy of their relationship. I was glad that Kat’s attacker was caught and couldn’t blame her one bit for the threats she made that evening, nor could I blame Caleb for laughing at her because the situation was hilarious. I really enjoyed Taming Kat and was excited when I learned that Ms. Cara has written two other books set in the same town about some of the characters I encountered in this book. I cannot wait to read them because I really liked her style of writing.

How captivating I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It zapped me, pulled me in and kept running with me. Ms. Cara has some moments of aw... And some holy..wth moments.
I’ve never read anything by Ms Cara before but glad that I had this chance and will be interested in reading more from her in the future.
Kat is a character easy to identify with and her personality if its not like yours, then its someone you know. Kat is all curves and sass, smart and all that..though she may not think she is. Most of us are our own worst enemy.
Caleb well what’s not to adore about the sexy man that should claim panty wetter as his nickname. He is ex military with some nightmares still hanging around, but it doesn’t define who he is. He is putting the finishing touches on his dream house, and all he needs to complete that is to tame his kitten.
With so many cookie cutter stories.. Its nice to see the girl playing hard to get, she will attempt to throw all kinds of obstacles in the way of her own happiness. Caleb is of mind not to let the spirited sexy kitten derail him.
I loved the characters apart as well as I did together. Then scenes were believable and something that could be in the realm of our possibilities. Just the right length.. Not a one seat sit down and read but just enough of everything to have a nice balance. D/s isnt or shouldn’t be molded but lived upon individuality and both the kitten showing her sub tendencies may not be what a Dom wants or Caleb pushing his Dom instincts to the front, may not be every subs dream Dom. But Caleb and Kat fit each other and with the word play the teasing, even the arguing. You can see how the connect and whether the little kitten knows it or not they belong together. Enjoy.

I have read a few of Aubreys books now, and i must say right of the back that this one had me right from the begining, I loved every reading every page of this book, and i really have to say that i loved both characters . Kat is a strong personally within herself, but has low self confidence in herself, and was a virgin right up to that one night when she gave herself to Calab McCrae. She left him beore they had a chance to talk.
Kat has two jobs, one a the Ranch mucking in with the men, and the other bartender for the Rusty Spur. However this particular night after work and getting rid of some rowdy she walks out to her car and is assaulted by one of the men, getting away she rushes to her car. There Calab finds her on the ground, so he takes her home and looks after her for the night.
Calab really likes Kat and after seeing her beat up decides its time to step up. He cant stop thinking about the lovely women, he realises that she has a low esteem, and with his type of dominance that Kat absolutely loves he is sure he can win her heart.
But kat is stubborn, these two are clearly meant for each other, can they both admit to loving each other.

Kat is one of those feisty heroines that you can't help but love.
She sticks up for herself, fights off guys when she is ticked off, snarls at her lover ( even when he is pulling off his belt, LOL), and just makes you root for girl power and hot sex.
But she also has a submissive side, brought out by the sexy, Caleb.
I loved the relationship and story between these two. It was hilarious, and sexy, but also meaningful at times, and real. I like real.
This really tickled me in all the right places.

Oh I hate it when I leave reviews too long and read too many other books in between.
I know that I enjoyed reading this one. I know that I didn't want to put it down and read it all in one sitting. That is always a good sign.
I also really vaguely recall thinking that there was something that I didn't LOVE about it. It may have been the Mills and Boon cover (tsk tsk).
Overall, a terrific read with some spanky good sex scenes.

Taming the spitfire
I loved the kink and sex in this book. So good! Caleb is a super sexy cowboy, former military, with a delicious dominant streak. And the woman he's compelled toward - Kat - is a neurotic artist who's trying to find herself.
Kat's a little much to put up with, but lucky for her a sexy Caleb both enjoys her fire and wants to tame it.

This was my Saturday morning 'chocolate cake' and BOY it was GOOD!
I LOVED this story from start to finish. It was hot, sweet and spicy all at once and I take my hat off to Aubrey Cara. The story features Caleb, a returned ex-special forces operative with PTSD, he's a pushy, protective, alpha male, he knows exactly what he wants and that is Kat purring in his bed. And KAT, a sassy, feisty 'drifter' from the city. Kat is 'real, she is snippy, has the insecurities that plague us all and Caleb is the typical school boy who likes to pull her metaphorical pigtails and drives her insane.
The stand out aspect of this particular book was the dynamic between the characters in a contemporary setting and it works so well for them. It is a mixture of DD and DS, with the complete understanding that if Kat safewords at any point they will stop and talk. This allows Caleb to be is alpha male self particularly in the bedroom but without the feeling, he is steamrolling over Kat. They tease, they snipe, they fight and love. And his Kitty Kat usually has to do pretty bad to move from funishment to real punishment.
My one little thing, I feel Caleb's PTSD might have been explored a little more in the sense we are aware he doesn't like loud noises and that he has sought help for them but I don't know maybe Kat could have witnessed an episode or something? But that is just me.
Everything is set for a romance hot enough to scorch the sheets!

No plot spoilers
No real potential triggers although there are a couple of violent assaults.
There are quite a few grammatical and editorial errors that almost killed the book. Irritating ones such as missing words etc.
The plotline is engaging enough and the characterisation is okay, but the real let down for me was the use of spanking, gags, butt plugs and restraints as a plot device. To move straight into using a belt on her in only their third encounter with kinky sex turned my stomach a bit, however, the author calling the vagina a honey pot was the point I wanted to call it a day with the book.
I don't think I will be purchasing more by this author.

I received this book as an arc and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The Monroe stories are my favorite hands down. I own every single one so switching genres might account for part of the reason why I wasn’t so impressed when I previously read Candi’s Debt. However, I must say that Aubrey Cara redeemed herself with this series about Kat and Caleb’s story. What do you get when a red headed yankee with a brassy attitude and independent personality sparks fly with a wounded hero flexing in his cowboy boots in the decadent Texas heat? The best kind of story where the characters either leaped out of pages or pulled me into their world. I laughed so hard at times that I snorted. I’ll never be able to think of a lucky leprechaun again without giggling. While Kat and Caleb heated up the pages, Gigi, Caleb’s mom, tries to steal the show. That hot tamale toon cheetah-printed leggings and stilettos to a whole new level.
Aubrey Cara deserves two thumbs up for this story. Kat walks the fine line of being an independent woman who is searching for herself and is self-conscious of her true beauty. Caleb’s yearning to prove himself while dealing with the scars from his past adds the perfect amount of depth to the story. “Caleb McCrae was sin walking on well-sculpted legs.” With a body that was made to be ridden by a sassy lady, Caleb’s eagerness to help others and do the right thing along with his delicious wickedness simply made my kindle sizzle. It was exciting reading how this cowboy roped in his red hair “she-devil.” Caleb lee how to reel Kat in while delivering a sensitive hand to his woman when she is in need. Recommended for anyone looking for a great read to heat up their kindles.

The Untaming of Kat by Aubrey Cara was a fun little read, showcasing bits of a rugged ex-military/cowboy who chases after a feisty leprechaun.
3 months prior, Caleb & Kat had a hot, sizzling erotic night and to the present day, both can't stop thinking about the rendezvous, but Kat has many emotions/thoughts on romance, life and the alpha hotness that Caleb exudes that she can't help but wonder what he sees in her. Can she overcome her insecurities for once and enjoy what she has in front of her, cave into her desires and be loved by a strong, passionate, dominating man?
Aubrey definitely knows how to entertain her audience with the different elements of spankings, possessive nature in her hero and the romantic gestures that create the HEA for her characters. I really enjoyed Caleb's demeanor. He is the epitome of what all good gentlemen should strive for in this day. The secondary characters played a nice role as well, especially for Kat and her 'come to judgement/decision' moment.
My only compliant, reason for a 4 out of 5 Stars, is the amount of detail in some areas. There was just too much and a little over redundant. Overall, the commentary flowed well, the erotic scenes were intense and hot! Caleb has one dirty mouth on him!!

The Untaming of Kat is a contemporary romance between a free spirit and a cowboy. Kat and Caleb had a one night stand months ago, but fate brought them together again. I have only ever read Ms. Cara’s sci-fi romances, but wow, this book was fabulous and I loved reading it! I loved the contemporary vibe and dang, there’s just something special about cowboys. Caleb was so alpha, so dominant, but also really caring and understanding, and I loved that some of his scars brought his closer to Kat. Kat was spunky and sassy, but had a really vulnerable side, too. I thought it was great that this was both of their first official relationship, so there are a lot of bumps and curves, but that’s nothing that a firm hand couldn’t eventually help! The ending was really sweet and I loved some of the side characters and can’t wait to read more!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page of this excellent, amazing book and I was really upset when I finished reading it, so I promptly read it again. This book covers: a rather feisty young woman (Kat) who happens to have a commitment phobia; she comes into daily contact with a domineering man (Caleb) with whom she had a one night stand with some time ago. Caleb is determined to show Kat the errors of her ways and to claim her for his own. What you will find in this wonderful book is: drama, intrigue, twists & turns, humor, memories, misunderstandings, fantasies, verbal banter, mild BDSM, conflict, lust, love, passion and steamy erotic scenes. The characters are well-developed and entwine well with each other with regards to the situation they find themselves in and react with fears, doubts, needs and desires. The story-line and plot is well thought out & written and keeps the reader’s attention. I would recommend this book.

I loved the story of strong, independent Kat, who is dealing with indecision and low self esteem. Caleb, who had one night with Kat many months ago, wants her in spite of Kat slipping away without a goodbye after their night together. The interactions between Kat and Caleb are sexy and hot at times, funny and kinky at others. I enjoy a story where humor is added here and there to enrich the relationship as it developes. I also loved Gigi, she's a pip, what a great character. Caleb was a patient and understanding lover while Kat was still struggling with what she wants to do with her life and future. Caleb is my new book boyfriend, I would love a man that gives a strong but gentle support yet doesn't allow Kat to talk herself down. In the end, this book was a page turner to be enjoyed from start to finish, with a great HEA and supportive characters.

This book is between 3 and 4 stars for me, but nearer to 3. I enjoyed the story which felt like it was loosely based on The Taming of the Shrew, but it was easy to put down as my emotions were never fully engaged.
Another case of a strong heroine who too often comes off as bratty and at times TSTL. It must be a very hard balance to get in a story, and I'm sure it varies from reader to reader. So an enjoyable, if not riveting, story good when you're in the mood when light reading involving a contemporary romance with a dash of BDSM.

I loved this story. Kat is just so independent and strong willed. She is bound and determined to stand on her own feet. Caleb is a very alpha kind of guy, and he wants to have Kat for his very own. The problem is, he has to convince her of that. She doubts herself and thinks that he's way out of her league, so she's fine with sharing her body with him, but not her heart. She just had to convince her heart of that.
I love all the people who just assume she knows what it means that he let her drive his truck. It's not something that everyone would think of. And Gigi? She's an absolute riot.

April 20, 2018I really enjoyed reading this book! It was a quick, hot, steamy read! Caleb and Kat heated up a room....so HOT! I loved the fact that kat described as chubby and insecure about herself, made it so much better how Caleb didn't see her that way at all. I totally recommend this to anyone!
