Once and Again by Megyn Ward completely stole my heart. From the very first chapter, I was invested in Riggs and Gem’s story. Their history together, the years of unresolved feelings, and the emotional journey they both had to take made this so much more than just a romance.
Riggs was the perfect wounded hero—strong yet vulnerable—and watching him slowly heal while allowing Gem to break through the walls he’d built was incredibly emotional. Gem was patient, caring, and never gave up on the man she’d loved for so long. Their chemistry was undeniable, and every moment they shared felt meaningful.
I also loved the small-town setting and the way the side characters made Barrett Creek feel like home. The emotional depth balanced perfectly with the romance, leaving me smiling one moment and tearing up the next.
If you love brother’s best friend, first love, wounded warrior, forced proximity, and second-chance-at-the-right-time romances, I highly recommend picking this one up. It was heartfelt, emotional, and such a beautiful start to what I know is going to be an amazing series.

This author has become my favorite for her raw and real characters. Gemma really stood out as a strong character in this story, absolutely devoted to her friends and family even as one by one they leave her. And Riggs' character just left me heartbroken as he struggled with his limitations and healing. Such a strong proud man reduced to relying on a woman he left and thought to never see again. The story jumps from past to present as little pieces start to come together and we see what went wrong. This is the first book in a new series with some fascinating side characters I'm looking forward to reading more about.

Before I talk about this book, I want to talk about what it left behind in me.
Once and Again wasn't just a story I read—it was a story I felt. Itreminded me of the kind of person I want to become: someone grounded in her convictions, unwavering in her path, and brave enough to keep moving forward no matter how difficult life becomes.
Through Gemma's story, I was reminded that strength isn't about never breaking down. It's about getting back up, choosing yourself again, and continuing forward with your heart intact. That is exactly what this book gave me, and it's one of the reasons I know it will stay with me long after I turn the final page.
Gemma was everything I wanted in a heroine. Stubborn, loyal, honest, resilient, and fiercely caring. Instead of dwelling on what she couldn't control, she focused on what she could. She chose growth. She chose honesty. She chose the life she wanted rather than the life others expected of her.
And then there's Riggs.
For him, it was always Gemma.
For her, it was always Riggs.
The yearning in this book was incredible. Every conversation, every memory, every moment of heartbreak and hope carried weight. Even when Riggs left to build the life he thought he wanted, even when distance felt like the safest choice, his love for Gemma never stopped feeling real.
What I loved most was that neither of them became trapped in the past. They kept living, growing, and becoming better versions of themselves while never fully letting go of what they meant to each other.
And when the payoff finally comes?

An absolute icon.
I've read books where dogs steal the show, but this was the first time a cat completely won me over. Janet brought humor, comfort, chaos, and personality to every scene she appeared in.
Most importantly, Megan Ward has officially made me fall in love with second-chance romance. Her writing was immersive, emotional, and impossible to put down. She made me care deeply about these characters while making me excited for every future couple in the Barrett series.
Give me Cade and Emily.
Give me Colt's story.
Give me every Barrett book possible.
If Megan Ward writes it, I want to read it.

Once & Again was an emotional second-chance romance filled with years of history, heartbreak, healing, and finding your way back to the person who always felt like home.
From the very beginning, I was invested in Gemma and Riggs. The brother's best friend dynamic, the childhood crush, and the years of unresolved feelings between them created an emotional foundation that kept me turning pages.
Gemma was easily my favorite part of this story.
She was strong, compassionate, selfless, and incredibly easy to root for. While she could have chosen a completely different path in life, she dedicated herself to caring for the people she loved. Even after experiencing heartbreak, she continued showing up for others with grace and strength. I admired her so much throughout this book.
Riggs was a more complicated character for me.
There were moments when my heart absolutely broke for him. His struggles, his regrets, and the emotional weight he carried after his military service were incredibly moving. I understood why he made certain choices, even when I didn't always agree with them. While I enjoyed his journey, I found myself wishing we had seen more growth from him and more effort toward earning a second chance with Gemma.
One thing I really enjoyed was the use of flashbacks. They added so much depth to the story and helped showcase the connection these two shared long before the present-day storyline began. Their history felt authentic, and I found myself rooting for them to finally get things right.
I also appreciated the emotional themes woven throughout the story. This wasn't simply a romance about rekindling old feelings. It was about healing, forgiveness, self-worth, and learning how to move forward after years of carrying pain.
If I could go back, I would probably read The Bad Brother before starting this one. While Once & Again can be read as a standalone, there were several side characters and relationships that felt like I was stepping into an already established world. Having that additional context would have enhanced my reading experience.
Overall, this was an emotional and heartfelt second-chance romance that left me eager to continue with the series.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love Megyn Ward's books and have read every one of them, with several earning multiple rereads. One of the things she does best is create worlds that feel lived in and full of unique characters you want to know. Her dialogue always feels natural, the banter is consistently entertaining, and her descriptions set the scene without slowing the story down.
This book is no exception. Another thing I always appreciate is that the spicy scenes never feel repetitive or formulaic. Each couple has moments that are distinctly theirs, and there's always one scene that stays with you long after you finish the book. I'll just say... I definitely file those away for future reference.

I ended up taking off one star, mostly because I found myself a little frustrated at times. Riggs wasn't quite my type, though I recognize that's probably a personal preference. I'm generally not drawn to very possessive characters, and I struggled with how deeply he hurt Gem. While his unwavering love and protectiveness may balance that out, I personally wanted to see a little more emotional accountability or growth.
I also found myself wanting more of Riggs outside of his relationship with Gem. I would have loved a few more glimpses into his childhood, more interactions with friends or family, or moments that showed who he was beyond being her protector and love interest. I think that would have made me connect with him much more.
Janet the cat was such a fun idea, but for me was a little overused. It wasn't a major issue, but there were a few moments where I found myself skimming, which is something I've honestly never done with one of Megyn's books before.
Now, for more of what I loved: I really enjoyed the cabin setting and Gem's role as her grandfather's caretaker, and her refusal to ask for money from the wealthy family. It really emphasized her values. I also found myself mostly wanting more of Cade and Emily's story. The bad boy/boy-next-door/forbidden romance tropes are absolutely my weakness, so I'm excited to see where that goes.
I also loved Cade and Cole's interactions with Gem in general, and I'm curious about their sister's story. Even Beck, Gem's brother, remains a mystery, and the little breadcrumbs we got definitely left me wanting more.
While this isn't my favorite Megyn Ward novel, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. More than anything, it feels like a pilot episode: a story that introduces a cast of characters and a world I'm genuinely excited to spend more time in. If this book is laying the foundation for what's to come, I have a feeling the rest of the series is going to be just as amazing as her others.

I was honored to receive this book from the author as an ARC reader, I love her other books that I’ve read and couldn’t wait to read this one! Like all of her books it didn’t disappoint!!! The Churu loving cat, Janet, is absolutely hysterical, she made me want to get a cat and I’m normally not a cat person. The fact that she could “talk” through her board had me laughing through the entire book, especially when she would curse while demanding to be fed or called everyone out on being “rude”! From the beginning of the book you fall in love with Gem and Riggs as kids, they are so sweet and you want them to find their happy. After many years, and so many struggles and pain in their individual lives, they find them selves together again when Gem is the only one who can help Riggs in his rehabilitation after getting wounded, his only hope to return to their home town for a surgery that could help him walk again with Gem helping him. As they’re forced together in the same house while he’s in rehabilitation they slowly get past their anger and hurt from the past and find their way back to each other. Throughout the book there are glimpses from what happened when they were kids that forced them apart and caused their friend group to crumble, by the end of the book you REALLY want to know the whole story that caused all the hurt and pain that made some of them leave and never return. This book will make you cry, it will make you laugh and at times even make you want to scream at the main characters even though you fall in love with all of them and want them to find their happy, but most of all it leaves you wanting more! On top of all of that the spice is amazing!!!! 😉 I am so excited to read the next story in this series that will hopefully add some more pieces to the puzzle of what happened when they were all young. If you haven’t read this book you need to put this on the top of your TBR list, followed by the rest of Megyn Ward’s books! I was lucky enough to meet her at an event this past February and learn about her books, I’m honestly kicking myself for not finding her sooner.

Her stories have no fluff—they’re filled with complex characters, sometimes morally gray, often carrying past trauma that has shaped who they are. The way she tells their stories pulls you in and makes you want to know more about their world and who they truly are.
Gemma and Riggs are no exception. Friends since they were young, Gemma has always had feelings for him, while Riggs buried his behind guilt. Years go by, and Gemma feels abandoned by everyone she cared about—including Riggs, who left to serve in the military until he was injured and nearly died. Now he’s back in Barrett Creek and under Gemma’s care while he relearns how to walk again.
Riggs can be frustrating at times, yet you can feel his pain as you read. It makes you wonder why he feels so undeserving. Gemma is equally complex and an incredibly hard worker. She doesn’t give up, and she struggles to ask for—or accept—help. The sexual tension between these two is absolutely delicious, and once they finally act on it… hello, fireworks.

The only saving grace of this book was Gemma. She's strong, brave, compassionate, and incredibly capable. She could have gone to college or lived comfortably off her family's wealth, but instead she chose to care for the people she loved and became a CNA because of it. I genuinely admired her character.
Riggs, on the other hand, left me with very mixed feelings.
The premise had a lot of potential. Riggs never truly wanted to leave Gemma, but he did because he believed he wasn't good enough for her. I also appreciated that he appears to have remained celibate during their years apart—though the book never makes it entirely clear.

The premise had a lot of potential. Riggs never truly wanted to leave Gemma, but he did because he believed he wasn't good enough for her. I also appreciated that he appears to have remained celibate during their years apart—though the book never makes it entirely clear.

What a book. I’m so glad I discovered this author when I first read Revenge Fantasy: I’ve been hooked since.
Whilst this is the start to a new series, the characters are actually introduced in ‘The Bad Brother’ which you don’t necessarily need to read, but it does provide some context.
Riggs and Gemma have known each other since they were little. She was known as tagalong after that’s what’s her brother Beck named her, the annoying little sister who follows him and his friends, but Riggs never minded. As they become teenagers, it’s evident that Riggs and Gem share a mutual attraction, but Riggs was always going to leave Barrett Creek; he had signed himself up for the marines. Years later, Riggs returns to Barrett Creek as an injured soldier, and Gem signs herself to provide his support. However, Gem and Riggs don’t know how to manage their previous history, and the two enter a love/hate relationship.
Firstly, the plot to this book is honestly outstanding. I’ve mentioned there is a crossover from ‘The Bad Brother,’ but I not only fell in love with Riggs and Gem, but the other characters too (Colt, Cade and Emily), especially Janet, the cat 🤣
Riggs is unhinged. Not only is he possessive as heck, he jealous and their history shows that he is willing to do anything to ensure Gem is his. I thought Gem was super strong, resilient and just a brilliant character to fall in love with.
Their chemistry was hot as. The angst and tension was 😮💨

Once and Again had so much emotional depth packed into Riggs and Gem’s second-chance story. Their years of history, heartbreak, and unresolved feelings made it impossible not to become invested. I was so invested that ended up reading the entire book in one day because I needed to see how everything unfolded.
I especially loved how much care was given to Riggs and everything he carried home with him. He was complicated, wounded, and sometimes frustrating, but his struggles never felt treated as a convenient plot device. Gem had her own growth to work through as she learned to stop seeing herself as the little “Tagalong” chasing everyone else and recognize that she deserved to be chosen fully.
The dual timeline was woven in seamlessly and added so much meaning to their present-day interactions. Instead of interrupting the story, the glimpses into their past deepened the tension and showed exactly why their connection, and their heartbreak, ran so deep.
My only real complaint was that the ending felt a little rushed after such a carefully developed emotional journey. I would have loved a little more time to sit with the resolution and see Riggs and Gemma settle into the future they had waited so long to find.
This also felt like a wonderful introduction to Barrett Creek. The hints and breadcrumbs surrounding the other characters already have me curious about several future couples. Emotional, layered, and filled with years of longing, this was a strong start to the series. This was my first Megyn Ward book and I can't wait to start reading more from her!

This was okay for me. The writing itself wasn't bad, but I do not like when a story goes back and forth from the past to the present. It was at least 75% of the way through the book and we were still getting back story. I would much rather just have the past first, and then the present day. It takes me out of the story to have to keep up with different timelines. There was also repeating phrases that got to me after a while. "Flat smile" and "noise in the back of ___ throat". That blank could by her, his, their, whoever. I felt like there should have been some other phrases or words that would have worked there. As for the characters themselves, I loved Gemma. I thought she was a strong person and to still be going after everything she'd been through was amazing. Riggs was okay, and although I could tell his feelings were there, he was crap at showing or admitting to anything. I honestly didn't understand why Gemma kept giving him chances. It was literally the end of the book before you find out that Riggs isn't leaving. There were a lot of secondary characters in this one. I felt like the story was just as much about the whole friend group as it was Gemma and Riggs. Janet was hilarious and made a great addition. The ending was sweet and Gemma and Riggs get their HEA. This was a first for me from this author, and I would be interested in reading Cade and Emily's story. I think it's going to be a good one.

Gemma came across as a very strong female who was loyal to a fault, and stood up for those she cared for, or were seen as weak by others. Even if that put her in the firing line. Literally. But it seems that others did not treat her the same way like her own family members.
Riggs was injured in the line of duty as a marine and had to endure surgery and PT to gain his strength and ability to walk back. Such a strong proud man but found himself reduced to relying on a woman he’d always loved but had ultimately left.
Janet the cat left me a little perplexed throughout the book and seemed an unnecessarily large character in the story.
I am, however, looking forward to Cade’s book.

This book tells the story of Gemma and Riggs. Gemma is 26, living alone in a small town after caring for her grandfather, working three jobs and still facing losing her house. Riggs used to be her brother‘s best friend and Gemma‘s teenage crush. Things ended badly between them and Riggs left town to joyn the marines and never returned. Now he is badly injured, has to learn to walk again and needs a place to stay. Gemma takes him in (to help pay for her debts) and of course old feelings resurface. But both of them are as stubborn as the day is long…
I have to say it took me a long time to get into the story. That is partly because while this book is the first one in a new series it is set in the same fictional town as the book „The Bad Brother“ and that is one I haven‘t read yet. Once and Again is the second book I've read by Megyn Ward, and one thing I really appreciate is that her main characters aren't the typical black-and-white personalities often found in contemporary romance. Both Gemma and Riggs live in the grey, making them feel more layered and interesting.
Gemma is completely believable as the "creeker" who now calls Barrett home, while Riggs—her brother's best friend—has his own complicated reasons for keeping his distance. It took me a few chapters to fully settle into the story, and I think the entire story could have been tightened by a chapter or two.
Both Gemma and Riggs are incredibly stubborn, constantly matching each other in sheer mule-headed determination. Riggs spends far too long trying to honour a promise that, while well-intentioned in principle, becomes frustrating because of the way he chooses to uphold it. Gemma, on the other hand, is fiercely loyal to the people she loves, a wonderful friend, and—yes—just as stubborn.
I also felt the story devoted a lot of time to establishing the side characters and their backstories. While I understand the groundwork being laid for future books, those sections occasionally felt a little drawn out and slowed the pacing.
Overall, this was a solid read. Despite a slower start, I'm invested enough in Barrett and its characters to see where the rest of the series goes.

From the incredibly sweet backstory to the emotional reunion, I was hooked from the very first chapter. Give me a brother’s best friend, a wounded warrior hero, and a stubborn, strong-willed heroine, and I’m completely sold. ❤️
This story kept peeling back new layers with every chapter, making it impossible to put down. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, another piece of the puzzle fell into place. It kept me invested from beginning to end.
And can we talk about Janet? 🐈 That sassy cat completely stole every scene she was in! I laughed out loud more than once because of her antics.

My second Megyn Ward book that I could not put down! I read Gemma and Riggs' story in just over a day. Gemma is a nurse, baker, and waitress trying to make ends meet to save her house. She lives in the house her grandfather owned and is at risk of losing it because of owed back taxes. Riggs was her high school crush and her brother's best friend. He became a Marine and was injured. He's sent back to Clearwater to recover and hopefully walk again.
This second chance story flips back and forth between today and their high school relationship. They live together as Gemma helps Riggs heal. Their angst is intense and their pain is real.

Thank you to Megyn and Grey's for this delightful arc. I had a time reading this book. Not fun but just like ahhhh. I don't know if that makes sense but I just wanted to keep reading to find out what happens. All the side plot was great. I loved getting to know the town and the people and all the lore. I am intrigued and want to read all of their books. I need them now lol (give me emily's now!!). I loved all the characters and funny enough, I was like ooo i need to read Jensen's book after I finish this one and two seconds later I got approved for his book from Grey's too (Hallelujah!).
I loved both Gem and Riggs as individual characters. They were both so stubborn and their growth was wonderful to see. Especially Riggs with his physical growth as well. I loved learning about their past and how they ended up not talking to each other for the past couple of years. I do wish we got to see more conflict resolution. It felt like they didn't really have that conversation of Gem feeling like she isn't worthy of people staying for her. Overall, I really liked the book. I loved the side characters and I cannot wait to continue reading this series.
Thank you to Megyn and Grey's for this delightful arc. I had a time reading this book. Not fun but just like ahhhh. I don't know if that makes sense but I just wanted to keep reading to find out what happens. All the side plot was great. I loved getting to know the town and the people and all the lore. I am intrigued and want to read all of their books. I need them now lol (give me emily's now!!). I loved all the characters and funny enough, I was like ooo i need to read Jensen's book after I finish this one and two seconds later I got approved for his book from Grey's too (Hallelujah!).
I loved both Gem and Riggs as individual characters. They were both so stubborn and their growth was wonderful to see. Especially Riggs with his physical growth as well. I loved learning about their past and how they ended up not talking to each other for the past couple of years. I do wish we got to see more conflict resolution. It felt like they didn't really have that conversation of Gem feeling like she isn't worthy of people staying for her. Like we got bits and pieces but I would have loved for them to truly hash out the past and talk about their fears.
Overall, I really liked the book. I loved the side characters and I cannot wait to continue reading this series.

Oh My Goodness! This book was so emotional and heartwarming and sweet and sassy and funny. Janet, the talking churu loving cat has got to be the best "character" I've read in a while. It was so nice to venture back to Barrett Creek and see some of The Bad Brother cast, while meeting newcomers. The author did a smash up job of creating tension for the next book in the series (another that can be read as a standalone if you choose) . Gemma and Riggs had such an uphill battle. When you fall for your best friends little sister (or your brothers best friend) you've got a mountain to climb. Add in all the feels and resentment and it makes for a wonderful angsty read.
This author did a fantastic job of making you feel the hurt, the resentment and the old love buried beneath the rubble. While "then and now" aren't my usual vibe this one was done really well. There was no wondering if they're in the past or present. The characterization wasn't vastly different between the "then and now". The author did a wonderful job of keeping the characters true to them and their battles. No waffling No wavering. She made you feel like you were inside a real relationship. Her dialogue is top notch. She must love to write it and it shows. I can't recommend her books enough.

They had history from Riggs being the best friend of her brother, the unresolved feelings from when they were younger and the heartbreak from first love. The flashbacks laid the foundation to relationship and now ten years later, Riggs is back in her life after an accident.
Riggs, his journey wasn’t an easy one. He had lost so much and was fighting no his way back. When he left Gemma all those years ago, he believed it was for the best. Not realizing he was leaving his heart with her, the person he absolutely fell in love with. Until he comes back injured and in need of a place to recover.
Gemma, all she had known is the people who love you leave. She has the biggest heart and is always putting others before herself. The “then” chapters filled me with nostalgia and memories of growing up with friends and family, as well as young love.
This first book in the Barrett Creek Series follows Gemma and Riggs. Gemma has inherited her grandfather’s house and his back taxes, and is struggling to make ends meet. Always a problem solver, she is forced to get creative when she loses the job she has had since she was 15.
Riggs was the best friend of Gemma’s brother in high school and the only person she has ever loved. He is forced to come back to town after 20 years to recover from an injury and it just so happens that Gemma’s house has everything Riggs requires.
My favorite character in the book is Janet, the sassy Maine Coon. If I were a cat, I’d be Janet. I am her, she is me.

I am a huge Megyn Ward fan. I absolutely adored a previous series of her and was so eager to read this book. Gem has decided to stay in their small town and is working several jobs trying to take care of her grandfather keep his home because he owed back taxes. Gem is a strong, self reliant caring person who tries to help everyone. Riggs is her brother’s best friend and the love of her life but he left town and was in the military until he became injured. This story uses a dual timeline to explain what happens between Riggs and Gem. I’m generally not a fan of that back and forth but the story did have a natural flow. This is a second chance, small town romance. I enjoyed the characters and the banter between them. Riggs wasn’t my favorite character but I could see how he complimented Gem. I’ve always enjoyed books by this author because I love the whole family support and reliance on one another. This is the first book in the new series Barrett Creek, although this wasn’t my favorite book I have high hopes for the remaining books in this series.

This book completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. The characters felt real, flawed, and incredibly easy to become invested in. Their relationships developed naturally, and I found myself laughing one minute and feeling completely heartbroken the next.
What stood out most was the emotional depth. The author doesn't rely on unnecessary drama—instead, every emotional moment feels earned, making the highs feel exhilarating and the lows genuinely heartbreaking. The pacing kept me turning pages well into the night because I simply had to know what happened next.
The writing is immersive, with vivid descriptions and dialogue that feels authentic. Every scene serves a purpose, building both the characters and the story without feeling rushed or repetitive.
If you enjoy character-driven stories with plenty of emotion, tension, humour, and a romance that truly makes you root for the couple, I can't recommend this book enough. It's one of those stories that stays with you long after you've finished the final page, and I cant wait for the remainder of the series

I enjoyed Riggs & Gem's story. It's such a sweet second chance romance...they had a misunderstanding & had not seen each other in years, but when Riggs needs help after surgery, she has a place & needs the job.
The giant talking "cat" in the book is a little different...not quite sure that I 100% understood that or could wrap my brain around it... 🤷♀️
The book is pretty long...but not in a bad way...just a lot going on. The book is set in current time, but has a lot of flashbacks to when they were growing up. The book is told in a dual 1st person POV.

I really enjoyed Once and Again! This was such a heartfelt small-town romance with one of my favorite tropes, older brother's best friend mixed with a second chance romance that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
What really pulled me into this story was the emotional conflict between Riggs and Gem. Riggs spent years running from his feelings, only to find himself back in town after a life changing injury with no choice but to rely on the one woman he'd been trying to forget. Watching him wrestle with his pride, his fears, and his love for Gem while she cared for him,even knowing he might leave again, made their relationship feel raw, frustrating, and incredibly rewarding. I found myself rooting for them every step of the way.
I'm definitely interested in seeing where the series goes next, especially after meeting Emily and the tension with her and Cade. Their story is going to be fire!

Gemma who was left behind by everyone who is loved. Took care of her grandfather and found herself in debt and may find herself homeless, unless a miracle happens. Works herself to the bone to save the place she loves and calls home. Finds herself taking care of one of the people who left her behind and broke her heart.
Riggs who swore he would never return to Barrett. Finds himself back in Barrett and having Gemma taking care of him after an accident. Briggs who does everything to stay away from Gemma. Finds he can't stay away from her and her sassy cat. Who leaves presents that no one wants in their beds and other places that should not have those presents. Riggs sees that Gemma has always been the one thing that has loved and saved him knows that he won't stay again. Gemma knows this too and tries to stay away from him. But, they can't and they know they shouldn't even with the sassy cat. This is a story worth the read.

This book starts off a new series, with Gem and Riggs serving as the two main characters. Gemma has always been in love with Riggs, but he leaves town and leaves her behind. This is one of those stories that splits between past and present, and I found myself wishing the author had given readers all of the backstory at once. As it was, I felt the present day story didn’t progress enough.
There was a lot of angst in this one, and a lot of internal thoughts that got repeated a lot. And while this is supposed to kick off a new series, the author apparently built this series from another she’d written. That made all the characters a bit difficult to keep track of, and gave me the feeling I should know them better than I did.
Having said all that, the author does have a good writing style and, while this book just didn’t do it for me personally (same with the character of Riggs, to be honest), I’d still give another of her books a try.

I have to admit that reading this book had me reaching for tissues, smiling like a loon or sighing rather loudly. Gemma and Riggs truly are a couple who belong together. Despite the age gap, his friendship with her brother or his fears that he is too broken for her, they finally get the happily ever after they deserve. The yearning and wrestling with their fears, doubts and emotion turmoil endeared this couple to me. Riggs spent far too much time pushing Gemma away or running from her and his feelings for her. So much so, Gemma finds it difficult to believe he will stay when he ultimately decides he won’t run anymore. They both have to learn how to trust their love and each other. Their story has many emotional and vulnerable moments, but there are also funny and entertaining moments too. Janet, the irascible cat who has claimed Riggs as her human slave or property, provides plenty of levity.
This touching and endearing book has my heartfelt recommendation.
