Rate this book
The brother I shouldn’t want is the one I can’t forget.
Getting dumped at the altar by the younger brother should’ve earned me a punch card for free therapy. Instead, six months later, I run to Hawaii for peace… only to be seated beside my ex’s older brother, Julian. Calm, gorgeous, and absolutely untouchable.
But the island keeps throwing us together, and Julian keeps being impossible to resist.
When he offers me a dangerous little detour—no pressure, no expectations, just two lonely people pretending we’re not breaking rules—
I say yes. Huge mistake.
Because feelings show up anyway.
And so do two pink lines.
Julian flies home. I stay behind.
Now, weeks after he went home and everything in my life changed, he’s back in Hawaii to claim me… and he doesn’t know he left more than memories behind.
And I’m caught between two impossible
Tell him the truth and lose the only man who’s ever made me feel chosen…
Or stay silent, and raise his babies knowing I never gave us a real chance.

Abandonment, jilted, fired… Isla picked herself up, found the one man to love

From a childhood of loss and pain, a wedding that didn’t happen to fate bringing two people together that needed each other to be whole.

Isla had been left in an orphanage as a baby, never knowing her birth parents, growing up in foster care. Put herself through college. Her friend Maya had a similar childhood and they became the support each needed through life. Until Isla met Ethan. Three years together and on the day of their wedding he couldn’t face it or her. He left it to his brother Julian to break the news in front of two hundred guest at the church. Ethan wasn’t coming.

Isla poured her self into her work, she was the best. However, life sometimes takes bad turns, there’s no stopping progress. The company was moving forward without her. She had been replaced by AI, more efficient, less costly. Given six months salary as severance pay she heads to Hawaii to decide how to pick up the pieces of her life and move on.

But fate has other plans for her as she is seated next to Ethan’s brother Julian on the plane ride to the beautiful land. Changing everything. They continued to bump into each other, drawn into a short relationship, they finally sat down to talk, agreeing to a short romp before Julian headed back to Atlanta and she stayed in Hawaii to searched for a job.

It doesn’t end here. Julian realizes leaving Isla in Hawaii was a mistake, in spite of the problems he will face when telling his brother he has feelings for Isla, he is going back to see if Isla is willing to give him a second chance. Isla is conflicted finding she may have not only discovered strong feelings for Julian but she has also discovered she pregnant. Once again she feels left behind.

Emotions run high in this romantic tale. Abandonment, lack of trust, feelings of being unwanted/not good enough, jealousy and betrayal are high on the list. But the love that builds makes it a good read. I enjoyed Julian and Isla’s short trek from past history to present entanglement and onto their HEA. If you want a full blown romance take a look at this one.

Theirs was the love story that shouldn’t have happened. Julian had the terrible task of telling his brother’s bride that his brother was not coming. He ran, leaving the bride, Isla, devastated. Not sure what she did wrong, feeling rejected. Then she was fired from a job she loved. What’s a girl to do? Why, fly to Honolulu, Hawaii of course! Only she didn’t fly alone. Isla was coincidentally seated next to Julian. Then she kept running into him all over Honolulu. They hooked up, Isla stayed in Hawaii, and Julian went back to Atlanta. Julian and Isla were an unlikely pair, and eventually, found their happiness. It was an emotional story on so many levels. It was messy, heart wrenching, healing, and beautiful. This story was an emotional rollercoaster that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you rooting for love to conquer all. Make sure you have tissues nearby.

The book had well-crafted characters, an easy-to-follow plotline, and an interesting locale. I enjoyed the use of Honolulu as the locale. There were some great supporting characters, with my favorites being Maya, Isla’s best friend, and Robert, Julian’s dad. Both were supportive, but also willing to set them straight, if needed. This would be a good book for readers that like powerful, engaging, and entertaining romance stories.

TWIN BABIES FOR MY EX’S BROTHER by Amelia Perry is Julian and Isla’s story. From Atlanta to Hawaii, there are surprises throughout as they figure out if their feelings are real or not.

When Isla’s life spirals out of control on several fronts, she needs to figure things out to get her life back on track. Little did she expect the twists and turns that would occur and how she and Julian would have a real connection. There are multiple storylines, lots of fear, some anger, life plans and goals, friends and family, careers and lots of changes along with the challenges.

There is a good flow to the story along with some steamy moments, romance and love. The unexpected pregnancy has its own issues and a happy resolution. There are memories shared and analyzed. There is closure with the epilogue that takes place four years later that gave a better than expected happily ever after. Love and respect shown through with more caring than I thought there would be.

This was the first book I have read by Amelia Perry, but I will be sure to read more by this author. You can’t help but relate to Isla, the FMC, and the relationship struggles so goes through. Then you meet Julian, the MMC, who is so swoon-worthy. Although the book is a little wordier than it needs to be, the story was entertaining and engaging throughout. It was almost sad when the book ended, as I felt like they had become friends, and I didn’t want to miss any more of their love story. This book was good, and one I would recommend to all who wish for an HEA.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review honestly and voluntarily.

ok

Don’t use the read and listen feature because whoever read the audio part was awful. She made it hard to understand who was talking and offended on tone for the most part. Not to mention how many words were mispronounced. The story in itself was just ok. I found myself skipping through parts. There are too many details about what her emails were and they spent a lot of time of the book part it felt like. I don’t know something about the story just didn’t click with me and I didn’t necessarily love the heroine.

Loved reading the amazing and entertaining story. Isla is trying to get over being left at the altar, losing her job, and on her way for a much needed vacation while looking for another job, and next to her seat on the plane is none other than Julian, the older brother of Ethan, the one who jilted her on her wedding day. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and another must read riveting romance story by the fabulous author, Amelia Perry.

After being let go from her job Isla takes a much-needed vacation and ends up sitting next to the brother of the man who left her at the altar. Julian hasn't stop thinking about that day and now coming face to face with the woman is sparking all kinds of feelings. This story will keep you glued to the pages, and all caught up in their encounter from start to finish.

Hawaiian Destiny

Isla goes to Hawaii to decompress from the changes in her life when she runs into Julian, her ex-fiance's brother. Their interactions were destined and intense. It was a wonderfully written story, especially as everything progressed into a charming story that I could not put down.

AMAZING

One of the best love stories I've read in awhile. It was slow paced but interesting as it went alone. The characters were developed perfectly with a lot of thought and care. Isla and Julian story wasn't rushed. It had the amount of anticipation between. They were meant to be together and become who they were.

I would recommend this book to everyone! I’ll scream it from the rooftops, it is such a great read. Once I started I could not put it down. Isla definitely goes through her ups and downs but she went out of her comfort zone and her life turned out great! Absolutely loved!

Julian and Isla are obviously written in the stars. Just takes them a while to figure that out. I enjoyed the wit and sarcasm, and the emotions of their story.
