Rate this book
Student Paramedic Billy Boyle, is embarking on the front line of the emergency service in True blue-light tales, a humorous and thought provoking story inspired by true events. His mentor and crew-mate, McDamnock TC is a tall well built Scott and a former champion of the highland games, who back in the day participated in the Tossing the caber competitions. Nowadays Mac will stand by his mantelpiece every day before work with a mug of McDamnock special brew tea in hand, admiring his five Tossers trophies and contemplating which manager he’d award a Tossers trophy to. The incidents Billy and Mac attend are a collection of the more ironic 999 calls that have actually occurred, but there is a serious side to this true tale as Billy finds out which leaves him questioning his career choice. The author is a Paramedic, with over thirteen years experience working for the Ambulance service. All characters in this story are fictional and apart from Mac and Billy, all are inspired by real people. The 999 incidents they attend in this tale are based on real 999 calls. "True Blue-Light Tales: Tales of McDamnock TC" is a brilliantly written, humorous, and at times thought-provoking account from the front lines of the emergency services. Billy Boyle’s experiences, paired with his larger-than-life mentor McDamnock TC, keep you entertained with stories of bizarre 999 calls and the surprising twists of life in the paramedic world. The dynamic between Billy and Mac is both heartwarming and hilarious, offering a unique look at the tough, often absurd situations paramedics face. The balance between humor and real-life seriousness makes it an engaging read, with a touch of fnfgo (funny-not-funny-going-on) that really pulls you in. If you enjoy stories that mix comedy with meaningful reflection, this one’s a must-read!

Brilliant

True tales told in real terms. You could actually be there while reading. The first album chapters just say it how it really is.

A good short set of stories, of the hardships of starting as a paramedic.

The ups and the downs, a good quick read. With a senior and a newbie. Could you hack any of it?
