Looking for love… Marilyn Jacobs has everything in her life that she wants…except the right man. She wants excitement, she wants passion…she wants the gorgeous man she just met! Making a bold first move seemed like the perfect plan until Loverboy ignored her come-on. Her humiliation is only slightly appeased because she knows she’ll never see him again. What are the odds, right ?
Or not.
Blake Bryant is all about work, and while casual sex with a beautiful woman isn’t something he normally turns down, Marilyn is the ex of his new business partner. Drama and complications are two things Blake avoids more than commitment. No matter how intriguing and tempting Marilyn is. But when both Blake and Marilyn are caught up in a suspicious robbery, they both must decide what’s really important in life and if they’re willing to admit their true feelings…before it’s too late.
Ashley Davenport was born and raised in Colorado, and although she doesn’t always live there, she’ll always be a Coloradoan at heart. Ashley loves collecting vintage PYREX (if you have pink or turquoise call her), exploring the great outdoors, and traveling to every Disney Resort possible. When she’s not writing or on an adventure, she stays busy daydreaming about the hot men she writes about in her novels.
Marilyn Jacobs is the epitome of quirky, she owns a bookstore and doing what she loves to do. When she bumps into the most handsome man she has ever met, she believes there is no way he could ever be interested in her but she couldn't be more wrong.
Blake Bryant owns a brewery in Colorado and when he sees Marilyn he is smitten. He doesn't expect to see her again but when he does he knows he is not going to miss the opportunity to get to know her. The only problem in their path though is someone seems to be wanting to sabotage his business pulling him away from Marilyn. She is checking every box he has for happily ever after can he convince her she is the one for him even with all the problems swirling around?
This was a lot of fun. The chemistry shoots off each page with this fun couple. Had a couple twists and a lot of sizzle. Entertaining read.
I laughed at this one. To have a gorgeous Alpha who is stunned into wordless amazement is just too cute. I liked Blake and Marilyn both. Didn't like Tyler at all. He seemed like a puke in the beginning and he proved me right a few times over. The suspenseful part of this was too obvious to me, but that didn't detract from my enjoyment in watching that part of the story play out. Sizzling little tromp in the bookstore. Watch out for the mailman!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
As the first book from an author, it isn't bad. It is a quick light read. The book could be longer so the mystery was played out a little better and not as rushed. At times the heroine stood around wrìnging her hands instead of acting which was annoying. Also, the author didn't use contractions so the writing was stilted.
What a wonderful adventure with these two characters...Marilyn Jacobs and Blake Bryant...Blake is bound and determined that he is going to keep the relationship casual with Marilyn...A definitely 5 Star from me...Thanks to the Author Ashley Bostock for doing what you do for us readers... :)
This was a fun, quick, easy to read story that I found just a bit quirky. As a non-American, I found all the conversations about guns completely weird, but I going from the title & the blurb I expected some of that. Would definitely read more from this author.
I dont know what has induced me to begin to read this book. Today at morning I finished reading T.M. Frazier book and was totally happy and excited. Here read only 3% of book I'm not excited anymore. I'm little sceptical about writing style, here too much details and you drown in them before there will be some action. Please, pleaseeee there should be excellent plot to make this book good. Then the redaction failed miserably. A lot of sentences have a bunch of similar words, I assume it should have hardened feeling, but it only upsets and also makes sentence inadequate for perception. BUT after maybe 75% it becomes good, not great, but good, easy readable and interesting. About main idea... it's nice, I like it, absolutely predictable and Marylin have quite a character. She is cute, like hamster in the cage but in her 27! she acts like she drooling dumb 16 years teen or shy 40 years old knitting cat lady, not cool. Blake obviously yummy and droolworthy specimen who are 38! as I remember but one minute he is alpha men next he is teen, but he is more adequate than Marilyn that's for sure. All in all, only 3 stars for: actually writing and printing book; good attempt to correct a situation with quality of the text; and nice plot with good highlight of series continuation with book about Amber.
