A biography that could’ve gone much deeper into the life of its legendary subject matter. It turns out to be nothing more than a book providing anecdotal information. The literary agency’s name in an unusually large font taking credit for the below average cover design is an odd thing.
They’ve also been thanked (forcefully it seems) by the author in the preface. What truly blows my mind is the complete lack of references and credit to any sources (freaking unreal). Also, colour pictures of the film posters would’ve been far better than black and white ones.
Madhubala ji taking Kamal Amrohi aside and proposing marriage to him along with a monetary bribe right before he was going to propose to Meena Kumari ji was a particularly juicy nugget of information. The clarity on the Dharmendra sahib - Meena Kumari ji affair was also intriguing.
