‘Paris Hemsworth’s Road To Wonderland’ is the second novel in a new adult series, which tells the tale of a seventeen-year-old girl's tragedy. A tragedy that steers her down an unlikely path full of twists and turns.
Paris is a naive, feisty fashionista who floats, carefree, through her life in 1990’s Manchester, thanks to her three great loves: her father, her best friend, and her motorbike. Izzy Moffit is a shy, quiet, literature lover who has been surrounded by violence daily, seeking solace in movies and music. The two are an unlikely duo, but since the age of four, they have been inseparable, always promising to be there for each other no matter what.
That is until one day Paris receives heart-shattering news which turns her life upside-down. Suddenly, their friendship is tested in ways it never has before, and just when things are starting to look up for them, adulthood steps in and kicks them both in unimaginable ways. Paris is forced into a life full of fear, guilt and doubt, which sees her evolve from the feisty, fun young girl she once was into something she never thought she’d be. Weak.
Having hit rock bottom, Paris is left with two options: climb the ladder back up or continue to swim in the sea of despair. The first option is easier said than done when you have no hope or faith left, when the loves of your life have all moved on, and you think you’re alone in the world. In the war against addiction, Paris knows it is only a matter of time before something has to give, but she is unable to predict at what cost.
Francesca Marlow discovered her love for writing in 2014 when having some role play fun on Twitter with her best mate. They were inspired to create a fictional world of their own which really helped her to channel every day thoughts and emotions and deal with the daily grind of ‘life’. Never once did she think it would lead to the release of a novel, which she confesses to being one of the proudest moments of her life.
She is a romantic at heart, with a huge passion for health and fitness which lead to her competing in two bodybuilding competitions. Having qualified as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist she also helps with online coaching. In 2015, a new love entered her life which sparked a healthier, happier, but extremely exhausted, Fran. Being a working mum with three beautiful daughters keeps her incredibly busy. When not being a mum, a wife, a coach, a colleague, a housemaid or a taxi, she can be found lifting weights in the gym or just generally in a heap, on her snuggle chair, in front of the TV.
As the Wonderland story continues from Book 1, we move on to a different character and a whole new set of emotions being brought out by Paris Hemsworth. Paris (AKA Goose) is the best friend of Isabella Moffit, and from the first page, Francesca Marlow does an exceptional job of showing that these two aren't just best friends... but more like sisters. In fact, even sisters isn't enough of an explanation as to how their relationship works. They're soul mates, but as with everything that happens when two people love each other so intensely, life and people get in the way.
The journey Paris takes from her teenage years right up to her thirties is completely different to that of Izzy's. New problems arise, new evil and new good. This book is filled with so much heartache and loss, pain and suffering that, as the reader, you feel as though you have to keep reading, just to make sure these two friends survive in one piece... and you want so desperately to be able to save Paris from all the mistakes and mishaps that await her in life.
Filled with new characters that will make you smile into your Kindles, as well as those characters that make you want to jump through the screen and grab them by their balls just so you can give them a rather special kind of Chinese burn, (Yes, D, I'm talking about you *mean face*) I guarantee that you will walk away from this story feeling like you've made a whole load of new friends... as well as few new enemies, too.
Francesca Marlow nails this whole story with her debut novel. I couldn't be more proud and can't wait to see what she tackles next.
I recommend this book to everyone. Paris will forever be lodged in your hearts. She definitely is in mine.
After reading Izzy Moffit's Road to Wonderland, I was left wondering what had happened to Izzy's best friend Paris during the years they had lost contact. I was so excited when I heard that Paris's story was going to be told, and I was not disappointed.
Paris Hemsworth seems to have it all: a wonderful father, a caring mother, and the best friend anyone can ask for. When tragedy strikes her family, however, Paris must figure out how to live her life without the one rock that she had always depended on.
Without spoiling too much, Paris's story is as harrowing as I thought it would be, even more so, really. While Izzy is off in the world, wondering why her best friend doesn't wish to speak to her anymore, Paris is trying to survive day after day with a terribly abusive drug dealer that has taken over her life and claimed it as his own.
Paris's story is told with the bravery I expected of her. Francesca Marlow has done a terrific job at bringing Paris to life and maintaining that feisty spirit that Paris displayed in the first book. It's interesting and really fun to get the other side of the story. I did spend a lot of time going back and forth between this book and the first one, but I think that made it a lot better to understand Paris and Izzy.
I can't gush enough about this series. It's awesome, and I hope that's there more Paris and Izzy in the future.
“That’s how we roll. Always have. She’s the brains and I’m the beauty, or that’s how it seems to be perceived to outsiders, even Moffy, I think.”
“We’re like salt and pepper. Completely opposite, but when mixed together, we are an explosive combination.”
“I move closer towards the paper, cautiously. God knows why; it’s not like he can jump out of the page at me.”
“You killed the fish we had by feeding them burnt pizza.”
My Review:
I am totally digging this shared Wonderland story and timeline by different authors. I adored the first book (Izzy Moffet), and was ever hopeful starting the second, but knew not to hold my breath as reading a series can be a crap shoot and not only was the author unfamiliar to me - but oh my, this must be her first book as it was the only one I saw listed for her in Goodreads. With more than a bit of trepidation, I took a deep breath and dived in. Hmm, in sharp contrast to Izzy, the character of Paris was far more difficult for me to care for. Paris is a complicated diva - selfish, immature, impulsive, irresponsible, lazy, full of self-pity, and lacking in self-control. She had led a charmed life until the age of 16 when her father died, until then, she had been an indulged and doted on princess with a wild streak and a bad temper. Without a rudder, she quickly spiraled into a lifestyle of sensation and addiction – which unfortunately also included a violent man and an ever worsening lifestyle. Izzy to the rescue, I knew she would be, as this book follows the same timeline as book 1. And by the end of the book, I was enjoying the Paris and Izzy duo yet again.
Kudos to Ms. Marlow, first book or not, she did an excellent job of capturing the downward spiral of addiction. It was all there - denial, selfishness, self-rationalization, and the unending cycle of procrastination in taking personal responsibility. As a strong and independent woman who is no fan of angst, Paris’s behavior and thought patterns frustrated me and became somewhat tedious. However, Ms. Marlow’s writing was highly insightful and diamond sharp. She already has strong skills – is well on her way to mad skills - and is going on my list of ones to watch.
As you are probably aware by now, I hate giving away spoilers. I'm not going to do that, but I will give you a little summary without giving too much away.
This is a journey through life from the eyes of a young Paris Hemsworth.
Through her teens and during her young adult life, Paris lived through it all with so much self doubt, never believing she was special and worth anyone's time and effort. What she failed to see was how loyal she was, fiercely independent, trustworthy and beautiful. She only saw the bad in herself, but Izzy, Paris' BFF, was always there to show her just how much she meant to those who loved her. Which was a whole lot.
The friendship they have is like no other. To quote Paris, "She isn't just my friend.. She's the sister I never had"
Paris didn't have an easy life. She suffered loss, betrayal and abuse, but through all this she grew stronger and wiser.
I adored the first book in the Road to Wonderland series, and I adore the second just as much.
I loved the witty banter she shared with her friend. The way she worded the scenes had me laughing a full on belly laugh. When I wasn't laughing, though, I was crying..
Paris suffered so much pain and I could really feel it through Francesca's words. Beautiful, stunning and heartbreaking story, but I loved every second of it.
The only downfall was that it ended. But that's merely because I enjoyed it so effing much and I didn't want it to. I'd love to read more about Paris' journey to Wonderland, especially if it's anything like this one.
I gave Paris Hemsworth's Road to Wonderland, 5 big, shiny stars because it was simply fantastic, and I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a bit of laughter, a whole lot of love and beautiful words.
We meet Paris in 1997 – as a teenager. Sassy, horny and so totally protective of her best friend forever, Izzy Moffit. Straight away, in the prologue you will laugh at their interactions.
“So, you’re our Paris’ dance partner. She’s spoken a lot about you, you know.” Oh my god! I think I’m about to curl up and die. All I can do is grimace through a fake smile.
Paris leads a perfect life really, 2 loving parents, a great school life and best friend, she’s bright – although has other things on her mind than studying. The only blot on her landscape is Izzy’s totally crappy home life. That is until fate steps in and turns Paris’ life upside down.
As likeable as Paris is, she isn’t strong enough to cope with the curveball that is thrown at her at the age of 17 and spirals into a pit of low self worth and the bad decisions that this can often bring. Along the way she loses Izzy as well as herself and this proves to be her downfall. They need each other like sandwiches need crisps!
Francesca Marlow writes Paris perfectly, you can feel her pain, her sorrow and her joys as if they were your own. Paris not a hard read, as far as writing style and ease of reading goes, but it’s a tough read, it’s not all flowers and petals and it hits some dark areas. The thing is you’ll be so engrossed, screaming at Paris in your kindle that you won’t realise until the end what a rollercoaster you’ve just ridden!
There are a lot of flawed characters in Paris’ story, her mum, stepdad, lecturer, Daggs, but who isn’t flawed, no one is flawed more than Paris, but she grows, grows so much and actually when we leave her, we leave a lady who’s motto really should be ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’ and we leave her, of course, with Izzy.
~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~
This is the first book that I have read by Francesca Marlow. I started this book going in blind, I didn’t read the blurb or synopsis, and I normally don’t, this book was a little slow to read. It wasn’t just at the beginning, it was through the whole book. I am giving this book 4 stars. Despite the slowness of the book, it was an interesting story. The subjects in the book are harsh. They are subjects that we normally hear about, but when you are reading about Paris, you start to feel like she is part of your family. So when you are reading, you feel that you need to protect her, and there were times that I was yelling at my Kindle when I felt that she was doing something that she shouldn’t have been.
Francesca knows how to put the emotion into a book. I cried several times in this book. And not just small tears, these were flowing, big crocodile tears. I understood the why, but way she was going about it trying to make her feel better. The one constant that Paris has is Izzy. Her best friend through it all. They are there for each other when they need one another.
The one thing that I was not happy with was the way that Paris’ mom just kind of abandoned her. The mom took a new man friend, and kept telling Paris that she needs to grow up and stop being a spoiled brat. Well, my opinion, is when something tragic happens, and you have been the only child, you are going to be a tad on the spoiled side. The mom though, she was more spoiled.
I want to read what Francesca puts out next. I want to read more of the wonderland that Paris is looking for. I wouldn’t call this a HEA, although I could see where it is one in the end. Read this book. You will enjoy it!!
Paris Hemsworth's Road to Wonderland is a fantastic second book in the Road to Wonderland series, and it was my great honour to be asked to edit for Francesca on her debut.
With a whole new set of difficulties that stand in the way of Paris' happiness, the book has twists and turns that will have readers reaching for tissues and chocolate from the first page to the last.
Paris is a tenacious character who, despite making some mistakes along the way, faces down tragedy, pain and heartache with courage and a determination that I, as a reader, found inspiring.
There are characters who will make you laugh, some who will make you cry, others that will make you want to break things (preferably their faces) and ever-present is Paris' best friend, Izzy Moffit (the protagonist from the first in the series.)
Francesca writes with a wonderful creativity that drags the reader into the world she has created. Her unique style flows beautifully and keeps you turning pages well into the night.
Ultimately, this is a story of love, friendship, loss, hearts breaking and being pieced together again, and triumph over sometimes seemingly unbeatable odds.
I would (and will) recommend this book to anybody. Francesca has blown me away with this, her debut novel, and I cannot wait for more from this incredibly talented author.
**I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review**
I adore these books. This is one of the most well written series I have ever had the privilege to review.
It is emotional, witty, beautifully written and you feel every ounce of pain and suffering that Paris does. Francesca does an outstanding job at pouring Paris's emotions on to the pages and putting the reader in the front seat of the roller coaster.
It's books like this that make you think. They make you delve beneath the surface of someone and even then you have to wonder, how well do you know them? How well do you know your best friend, mother, father? Everyone has a cross to bear, some just hold the weight better than others.
I love that each book is written by a different author. It gives each character a fresh perspective and each book holds true the one before it.
I am so thankful that I came upon this tour and got to read this wonderful book. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Another 5 star book in the RTWSeries.Francesca takes you right along with her on her way to Wonderland.Paris' journey is so beautifully written, you are there with her and feel all her emotions.I cried.I screamed at my kindle and I LOL .The first book that I've ever cried at when I've finished reading and loved it all. Can't wait to read more as they all continue their journey to Wonderland.Cannot recommend these authors or series highly enough.
honestly makes a change to read british humour, story about friendship (with a little romance thrown in) and actual real life issues rather some of the glossy american angst out there at the moment. And there's a twist to the series, although follows the same timeline, each book is from a different characters POV and a different author! Very unique. Loved this book :)
I have just been on a roller coaster journey with Paris and it's one I don't want to get off, so I'm not!! I cried ugly tears, I laughed hard and I gave my kindle a good shouting at, I got totally caught up in all the emotion it's safe to say I can wait for the next instalment the RTW series is definitely a must for your TBR
I absolutely loved this story. Having already met Paris Hemsworth in all of Izzy and Ethan’s books, I knew many things about her due to Paris and Izzy being the best of friends since an early age. A Thrill for Paris allows Paris to tell us in her own words what she was feeling and what she went through in many of the scenes I have had the pleasure of reading. However, there were a few surprises that I certainly didn’t expect along the way.
This is an emotional story. I was in floods of tears only a few chapters in. It is a heartbreakingly beautiful story of loss, loyalty, desolation and yearning. Paris is a complicated character and many a time I wanted to stop her from going down paths that she should never had taken a first step on. This showed us her impulsiveness side and I now have a greater understanding why she did many of the things that she sadly ended up regretting doing.
Paris is someone that I just couldn’t help but love. Yes, she can be selfish and reckless, but she is determined and loyal and has strength and courage. I can assure you that you will feel lots of different emotions as you turn the pages of this book. Paris has this spark and fun side to her that I have enjoyed witnessing again. I would totally recommend for you to read her story and I hope that this isn’t the last we see of her.
I was gifted a copy of the first book in this series and fell in love with Izzy and Paris. Their friendship appeared so out of balance on paper, but for those two young ladies, they were a team, sisters since early childhood.
In the first book, we saw Paris and her parents share their life with Izzy to help her escape the abusive home she was living in. Paris had the picture perfect life; the only cloud to her day was worrying about Izzy. Once they were able to take Izzy into their home all was perfect in Paris’ world. As the first book continued we saw the tides shift and it was clear that Paris was the one who needed to be saved and Izzy was going to have to be the one to create a perfect life to bring Paris to.
Paris Hemsworth’s Road to Wonderland is the story of what really happened to Paris during the dark times that was eluded to in book one. I won’t go into great detail about the events that will bring Paris to her knees, if you have read book one you will already have an idea. What you are about to find out though is the truth behind her shattered heart and soul was much deeper and dramatic than we even imagined. The author has told Paris’ story in a way that will rip your heart out especially if you are like me and cherished the brightness of Paris before the first heart breaking experience happened.
You will see Paris’ light grow dim in this story, continuing till finally Izzy will have to dig through the ashes of what is left to find and rescue her “sister”. I feel the story shows that it isn’t always the bad choices that break a person, it is sometimes the things we have no control over in life that shoves a person off the mountain and gravity and speed of trying to survive and not die is what keeps the downward roll going. Paris was in a place that she had never known existed, the dark tunnels of hell. She didn’t have time or the strength to think through her choices, she grabbed on to whatever was there that promised to numb her feelings and help her live again.
I am not sure how you can read this and not be overcome with emotions and feel the need to dig your way into the story and save her yourself. This is a story of love, friendship, loss and redemption. Paris will survive the hell, but will she recover in the process? Will we ever see the hyper, happy go lucky girl that we fell in love with in the first book? Izzy and Paris both proved that in a true friendship there are no score cards. Where Paris gave all she had to give to save Izzy, the love and devotion was returned when Paris needed to be rescued. She knew Izzy would be there, even when she didn’t feel she was worth the effort.
This is a powerful story, well written and you can tell the author put her heart and soul on the line with this plot. She gave us laughter, heart break, empathy and strength in the story of these two beautiful young ladies. I can hardly wait to see what is coming next in this series.
The Road to Wonderland Series, brings you a series of stories that are intertwined and yet always from a different perspective. Each character has a story to tell, not always pretty but definitely always honest.
Paris’s story begins for us in her teens and takes us through to her thirties, and is set alongside Izzy Moffit’s journey, however the books could be read standalone, but I would recommend you embrace the Wonderland experience and read them in the order of release.
Paris, Goose or Rider – which ever persona she is wearing, her life took a route she did not see coming due to a tragic event that shaped everything that came next.
We can all look back and say we made at least one slightly misjudged decision, but what were the consequences of that fateful decision? For Paris the consequences were a train wreck that could destroy her. She is left spiralling out of control and down towards her very own hell with the potential to take those she loves with her.
My brain keeps mocking me for all the mistakes, yet I can’t seem to stop making them. ~Paris~
Just one wrong turn, is all it took.
At the end of chapter 31 I had to stop, my eyes had blurred and tears threatened as I began to understand the full extent of her predicament and what it could mean both for Paris and for Izzy her only true friend.
We also meet Ethan Walker, whose Wonderland journey is the next in the series, and Max Colton (also known as Mine, so back off ladies).
Interlaced with some really funny moments between the characters, these bring some much needed light relief to Paris’s story.
The book doesn’t end on a cliff hanger but there will be some questions left unanswered, it finishes for now, but it is certainly not the end.
What a journey I feel I have been on. Watching Izzy and Paris bring their books to you makes me very proud.
Ms Marlow’s debut novel is written in such a way that Paris’s emotions flow through the words and out of the pages making me want to reach in and grab her pretty arse and pull her the hell out of there. We needed to have a word about some of these choices she kept making. And I’m pretty sure Izzy would have been right behind me bouncing on her toes saying “let me at her”.
An impressive debut, a must read, a simply not to be missed read.
In the words of Izzy Moffit, ‘Let’s create our very own Wonderland’, and that’s what I intend to do. ~Paris~
Paris is a naive, feisty fashionista who floats, carefree, through her life in 1990’s Manchester, thanks to her three great loves: her father, her best friend, and her motorbike. *This is Francesca’s second novel, and what a fantastic second book it is. I love how much different this book is compared to book 1 in the Road to Wonderland series. I just couldn’t put this book down. I was hooked from the first chapter. I can’t believe how hard I cried while reading this. I didn’t think I would but Paris and her life really got to me. I can’t believe how sucked in I was. I just sat there turning pages and getting even more engrossed in the story then I was the page before. This book was wonderfully written. I felt like I was in Paris' mind seeing things happen as she did and experiencing things when she experienced them. That is my favorite thing about this book. I definitely recommend this book to all.
*** ARC provided on behalf of the author for an honest review ***
We were all introduced to Paris when we read Izzy Moffit’s Road To Wonderland (Road To Wonderland #1)
Paris Hemsworth Road To Wonderland is her story.
Welcome to Paris’s life.
Life is good for Paris. A great family life with her Mum and Dad. An awesome friendship with her best friend Izzy. School’s great. Life couldn’t be better.
Until the shocking loss of the man she absolutely loves and adores. Her Dad.
So begins Paris’s journey. One of grief and sadness. One of loss and hurt. One of pain.
She’s lost herself. She’s lost her spirit. She’s lost her vibrancy, her love for life.
Attending university with her best friend Izzy, everything on the outside looks great. But Paris is slowly dying on the inside.
So Paris begins to make the wrong choices. She turns on her mother. She turns on her best friend. She’s alone.
So with nowhere to turn, no one to turn too she falls into the hands of Daggs. He owns her. She’s his. He breaks her. She needs an out. She needs to find Izzy.
But will she survive? Will Paris ever find herself again? Will she be able to find Izzy before it’s too late?
Paris Hemsworth Road To Wonderland is a story full of emotion. We laughed, we cried. We hurt for Paris and her struggles. We felt her pain through the pages.
A beautiful story we highly recommend everyone to place this on their TBR list. Thank you Francesca Marlow for taking us on this journey. A definite 4 star read.
I was provided with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Road to Wonderland Series to date is a great read. In this second book, the first hand account of two best friends growing into adulthood are chronicled, and in this book, Paris Hemsworth’s life story is told.
Paris Hemsworth grew up in a happy family, with a doting father. When a family tragedy turns her life upside down, it is the friendship of her best friend Izzy Moffit that helps her survive. When that friendship stops being a source of support, and Paris has to live life on her own, she makes decisions that are detrimental, and struggles with their negative results.
Paris Hemsworth’s struggle includes suffering from the disease of addiction. This writer has worked as a substance abuse counselor for the past 15 years. I thought that the portrayal of addiction in this book was extremely realistic, which I cannot always say from other books that I have read. The reader truly has empathy for her struggle because of how authentically the addiction is treated.
I really like the way that these books are composed. In book one, Izzy Moffit’s guide to Wonderland, one girl’s perspective was shared, and in this book, her best friend’s. Their voices are so unique, as are their perspectives on the events of their lives, that each book is unique and it does not feel like you are rehashing the same story. Both books are very well written, and leave you waiting for the next edition in the series. This is a must read for any YA/NA fans.
2.36 am...the time I swiped my thumb across my kindle to reveal the last page.
3.5 hours...the amount of sleep I've had before writing this review.
Bare with me, my brain is a mess. A jumble of emotions. It's a bit of a concern if I'm honest, I'm never stumped for words. I can't even....
This is book 2 in a 5 book series, each book written by a different author. I read this book "out of sequence"...Not that it matters, each book's focus is on a different character within the series and they work perfectly well as stand-alones.
Let's get to the nitty gritty shall we... My heart breaks for Paris Hemsworth. Her life is one massive sh%t storm. 14 years of loss, pain, suffering and heartache. Despair ruling her life in the ever vicious circle of trying to find a way to forget. Being alive, but never actually living. I just couldn't stop myself turning the pages, hoping she was ok, wanting to see her fight like the feisty character we first meet aged 14. Here's where the book geek in me comes out...I feel so privileged to have met Paris Hemsworth. I just can't explain....If you READ you'll know what I mean. There are characters that you take to, characters that you hate, sometimes, characters you couldn't give 2 hoots about but Paris is one of those that you kind of wish was real. Like you could chat with her, wrap her up in hugs. She's just one of those special ones, you know?!
So, now I'm going to read her best friend, Izzy's story and fall in love with her all over again!
Don’t you just love when a book lives up to your expectations? Me too! And this is why you need to read this book!
Paris Hemsworth is the second book in the Road to Wonderland Series and is everything I had hoped it would be and more!! The cool thing about this series is that it tells the same story for each main character’s perspective but does not rehash everything that was done in book one. It is a totally unique look at the story of Paris and Izzy. I do suggest reading Book 1 first.
This book had it all, laughter, heartache, joy, terror, everything. I LOVED reading about what Paris was going through during the time that she was missing from Book 1.
The author did an amazing job conveying the emotions in this book. I felt like I was going through all the same emotions that Paris was going through. I could feel her struggles and desperation but also understood how she ended up going down this path. Reading this brings a new perspective to book one and makes me want to read it again.
When I found out there is a third book in this series I almost jumped out of my skin! I cannot wait to read more of this story from yet another perspective.
I was given an Arc for a honest review.Paris Hemsworth’s Road to Wonderland is the second book in the Wonderland series. This instalment in keeping with the theme was written by the next author. Having a series with a different author is something I had never heard of and thought was a new and innovative ideal. I can say after reading the first book I was anxiously awaiting the second book in the saga of Izzy and Paris. I was not disappointed. The first book was about Izzy, her life, her trials and her friendship with Paris. This book examined Paris’s life during the same time frame. Once again another a well told story that took me on a journey that I had been on before but was shown that journey from a different perspective. I was able to feel what Paris felt and my heart truly went out to her. I can say that this like the last book does not use erotic sex, BDSM or kinky sex but straight story telling which draws you in and lets you experience the life of Paris and Izzy. Kudos to the author of this story and the author who came up with the ideal of multiple authors. I once again look forward to the next instalment in the Wonderland saga.
When I first started the Road to Wonderland series, I immediately fell in love with Paris. Throughout Izzy’s story, I wondered what happened to make a girl who shined so brightly lose her sparkle, to completely combust and collapse into herself, hiding her beauty from the world. Now I know and it’s heartbreaking. Paris’ journey is full of gritty, honest emotional trauma that is stark in its brutal realism. There’s no sugarcoating. As Paris struggles to deal with her grief, she realizes the parts of herself she loved, are broken beyond repair. What makes it so harrowing is that Paris sees herself deteriorating and feels so low that she believes she’s powerless to help herself. Paris must overcome her past to build a happy future and everyday is a fight to remain in control. It’s dark, painful, and at times, Paris’ feelings of isolation and loss are crippling but incredibly real.
The moment I met Paris, I fell in love with her. Francesca Marlow brings Paris to life with her humor, feistiness, loyalty, love for friends and family and heartbreak. I felt as if I were there with Paris going through everything she was. I cried, laughed, begged her not to make decisions I knew were not good. I cheered when things went her way. Francesca made me want to be best friends with Paris. Paris' story was true to life. It had real life experiences that people face every day and can relate to. I can't wait to see what happens with Paris past her thirties. Great job Francesca and I look forward to your next book!
This is my first time reading a book from Francesca and I must say, she knows how nail the emotions! Paris's journey is filled with heartache and pain. Her choices are not always good and she also has to deal with not having her best friend Izzy with her. Those two are like sisters and to see them trying to face life without each other is heartbreaking. The story flows really well and is well written. The characters are written well and you feel what they are going through. You follow Paris' life all the way from teenager well into adulthood and sometimes it makes you wonder will it ever be okay for her? I recommend this one!
Paris Hemsworth's Road to wonderland is a heartbreaking and well written portrayal of the roller coaster we call life.
With a seemingly happy childhood, all of that is thrown into question after one life changing, and devastating twist of fate, setting off a chain of events that will change the girl and shape the woman she becomes.
Set over a decade of her life, we follow Paris down the paths of heartbreak and fear and discover that unconditional love sometimes comes from the family we choose rather than the one we're born into.
Ms. Marlow has captured the grittiness and misplaced trust of life's twists and turns beautifully.
I selfishly read Paris' story because I wanted more of Izzy. I wasn't ready to let Izzy go just yet. I didn't care much of Paris in Izzy's story. I connected with Izzy's strength and loyalty. Paris always seemed off doing her own thing. Boy did I change my mind! Paris pulled me in and made me notice her! My heart broke for her, her loss, and how her world feel apart around her. It's so easy to lose our way in life and Paris' story is just that. The good news is that she finds her way back. She puts on her big girl pants and keeps moving forward. Her story will leave you wanting to call your best friend to tell them you love them.
After reading the first instalment in the Road to Wonderland series I've been waiting impatiently for Paris's story. So on Sunday afternoon I curled up on the sofa to start what I already knew was going to be an amazing book and I was definitely not disappointed. Francesca has somehow managed to make you feel as if your living Paris's life right along side her and you feel ever bump and mountain she's forced to over come with her. I absolutely loved this book and am already waiting for the next instalment in the series. I just hope I'm not waiting too long! A very well deserved 5 stars!!
Paris Hemsworth's Road to Wonderland is the second in the series and once again I was drawn in and I loved it. I smiled, I frowned and I wanted to punch someone at one point but that's what I loved about reading this book. Francesca Marlow knows how to pull different emotions out of you from how well she wrote this book. I love the strong friendship that Paris has with Moffy and it's lovely to see them there for each other even when times are bad. I can't wait to read Ethan's book now and more from the Wonderland Family
After reading Mof's story and falling in love with it, I knew Paris's story would do the same. It didn't disappoint at all. I laughed, I sighed, I cried, I cursed, I laughed again, I cried again, I wanted to throw my kindle across the room and possibly knock Dagg's ass off his high horse. It was a whirlwind of emotions that I wouldn't take back.
Paris is an amazing character who went through hell and back, but she came back better than ever.
Bravo Crushie! I especially enjoyed reading the very last page. Brought tiny tears to my eyes.
