Blood Moon Pack Alliance #4

Should Have Put a Leash on It

Rate this book
Micah can be an ass, he admits it. But most of the time when he says something stupid it's a backfired attempt at teasing. Micah never pictured himself settling down, there were too many men and women out there to keep him busy hoping from one bed to another. There's only been one man who got under his skin. His brother's best friend. However, a series of misunderstandings and arguments and years of resentment aren’t easy to overcome.

Rylan's mother dumped him on the pack's doorstep when he was a pup after finding out her husband wasn't quite human. It left Rylan with a chip on his shoulder and a need to prove himself. Micah can't help but bite back when Rylan pokes at him, but always assumed that most of the animosity between them was relatively harmless and shrugged it off as just not getting along.

Since being cornered by his little brother and warned to play nice, Micah decides that maybe the past is better left where it is. Only before he can come to terms with his own mistakes and apologize, Rylan is kidnapped and no one knows where to look.

Micah searches until he is ready to collapse from exhaustion. He even challenges his alpha. The pack and coven desperately search for Rylan but when they finally find Rylan after six weeks, it may be too late to save him. Trevor's devious mind and scheming nature isn’t going to be easily outwitted.

There really is nothing better than a good book and a big mug of tea on a rainy day, which is often needed when considering the wet weather in Wales. She is rarely found without a book of some description on her person and a notebook, she can always be seen scribbling and doodling while lost in thought about sometimes random nonsense or day dreaming about alternate worlds of fiction. Real life may not be much fun but the imagination allows infinite possibilities to be explored and lots of naughty fun too if you're up to the challenge. So in the words of a crazy scientist - I reject your reality and submit one of my own. Happy reading.

Pretty good. definitely a 3.5 star book. I didn't really care for the number of characters and the lack of distinction or explication. With that many characters constantly being in almost every scene little hints as to who is who would have been helpful. Also, no more characters with names that begin with R. That just adds to the confusion!
Poor Rylan and Micah tho. .. They have spent their whole lives at eachother throats. But i find it odd and slightly difficult to believe that Micah didn't realize his feelings for Rylan when he spent his whole life protecting him. I do get the waiting for Rylan to mature thing but how could Micah not realize they were mates?
During the book Micah reveals that he really struggles with his reading ability and that he is hyper sensitive to being called stupid or someone implying he was unintelligent. Part of his animosity towards Rylan was based on him feeling that Rylan thought he was stupid. But they NEVER even discuss it. It was something that really bothered Micah but they never brought it up and resolved it.
Overall, I thought there was kind of alot going on and the scenes were too packed with ppl causing confusion at times. But it was a good mating story.

Micah and Rylan’s story is my favorite of this series so far. There’s history between the two wolf shifters, and this story gives us a friends-to-more and paranormal shifter story in the setting of a larger series all in one.

Micah may not always think ahead before saying or doing something that he might-and probably will-regret, but he’s still a great character, if a bit clueless when it comes to Rylan. As a matter of fact, there’s times when it seems like Rylan acts more mature even though he is the younger one. The two together are a perfect match, even when snapping off insults, barbs and general snarkiness. Micah just doesn’t quite realize it.

I enjoyed watching Micah’s journey to figuring out that yes, Rylan really is his mate, and once he gets there it’s quite satisfying seeing how possessive and protective he becomes. My heart went out to Rylan for what he had to endure-not once but twice-and he shows his pure loyalty throughout it all.

4 stars for Should Have Put A Leash on It, recommended for M/M paranormal fans 18+ for adult language and M/M sexual content. Micah and Rylan are pretty damn hot together too ;-)

Ok

There is something about this series I really like.
This is the first book in this series that we see a pairing of wolfs and I was looking forward to it. I spent a fair part of the book confused as to why Micah couldn't sense that Rylan was his mate, especially considering that he had not been subjected to the smoke that was affecting the other wolves. I actually thought it was just me and that I was missing something, but thankfully Micah had the same concerns. This was cleared up nicely. I liked them together, their bickering was cute.
I also like the overlapping storyline of Trevor and this book seemed darker than the others. I still am confused as to why the council (there must be some that aren't Trevor's allies) and the other packs haven't helped out, and gotten involved, at least in trying to stop Trevor. It seems a werewolf problem with Trevor wanting to rule them all, not just a problem for Remy's pack.
Looking forward to the next book in this series

3.5*

this one is angrier than the rest of the series.
Rylan is taken from the pack and. is missing for over a month. The anguish this causes in Micah and Alpha Remy is sad. When he is found, it's sort of a relief, except it also isn't. Everyone feels guilty.

They also find out that Rylan has been tampered with by this suspicious poison Trevor has concocted. They decide to let it play out to see what happens. Things aren't so pretty when the switch is flipped. Following Rylan while Trevor is in control leads them to one of Trevor's hideouts. Unfortunately, he gets away again, but they're. step closer to finding out a counter serum and the mystery of who's backing Trevor in all this.

I like how the mating didn't hit Micah, that he didn't feel the pull like the others, because as Skylar points out, he's always loved Rylan. It's a very sweet notion, and different from the other pairings.

This book was pretty good. Rylan and Micah have been at each others throats for a long time. It didn't surprise me to find out they were destined. Kinda of figured that out earlier. This wasn't my favorite, but I did enjoy it. Looking forward to the next book.

Lots of action. I still really wish these were better edited.

At least two instances of a wrong/misspelled character name. Missing words. Extra words.

Series: Blood Moon Pack Alliance
Author: S.A. Welsh
Overall Rating: 4 Stars

I haven’t ever read an S.A. Welsh book so this series was a new one for me all around. Shifters and vampires and true mates all in one story? Yes please! The overarching storyline is about Remy finding himself in charge of his pack after fighting his Alpha and finding out he’s been an Alpha all along but his mother hid the fact from him to protect him. With good cause since his Alpha was not a good guy. Each book is about Remy trying to solve the poison that has been given to the vampires from an unknown source and the poison given to the wolves of his pack from the previous Alpha. It’s also about him coming into his own as an Alpha with the help of his family and inner circle around to help. There’s good guys, bad guys, and love.

Remy is a wolf shifter who likes and has made a living out of fixing up cars, a very good living. He suddenly finds himself in the middle of a huge change for himself and the pack he has always lived in, the pack he suddenly is the Alpha of. Then finding out that the wounded vampire his old Alpha wanted him to kill is his mate...Remy life has turned upside down! With each book we get to see another mated pair find each other plus watch as they each wade through the dangers the previous pack Alpha Trevor is creating. As the books go one the danger gets worse because they find that those they thought would have their back in fact do not. Remy needs to work fast to put his inner circle of betas, enforcers, and seconds i place as soon as he can because danger is coming and they need to be prepared.

All the characters are pretty well fleshed out and their true mate stories are on the side of sweet and sultry. One for the plus column is that the characters don’t just fall immediately for their true mate every time. They each have passed hurts that make it hard to trust, or or don’t trust anyone but their own species, or past resentments coming up to bite them on the butt. Whatever the issue they have to work through it while fighting an outside source trying to kill not just their Alpha but them as well. The books are on the shorter side each taking about 3 hours to read but although you wish they were longer it's not because the authors doesn’t give you a solid story.

I did have some issues with some of the smexy times and the use of “vampire speed”. It was overused in all the mating with vampires and is truly one thing I find hard to visual as sexy. And for my own personal preference as much as I LOVE sex in a book there were times throughout the series I felt it was too much a focus especially in the fifth book of the series “What’s Your Poison?” when they finally do figure the poison out. I would’ve liked to get to see more about Jake even though it was awesome to see the mates get to fully mate. And I suspect that there will be a future book for him that I will definitely be reading!!

Summary:

Micah and Rylan have known each other ever since Rylan came to their pack as a young child. Micah was attracted to him form the beginning, but he knew how creepy that would be so he made a point to stay away from Rylan. U fortunately, that behavior became a habit and when Rylan was old enough to make his interest known Micah treated him like he always had. Many people get stuck continuing past behaviors like Micah and Rylan did hurting each other. It was fascinating experiencing Micah's awakening as he began to understand what he had been hiding form himself all his life. Rylan's disappearance brought the pack together even more as they struggled to find him before it was too late. Trevor was the perfect evil character, but they have yet to uncover who is plotting against them before they strike again. This fast paced story was filled with amazing characters who work together for the protection of the pack and their allies.

Book four is all about Rylan and Micah. You actually hear more about Rylan's history in one go in the synopsis than in the rest of the book, as it is told as snippets and flashbacks. If you have read the previous books, you already know that Rylan and Micah are at each others' throats most of the time, and that it is probably due to unresolved sexual tension. Things seem to be set between them though - that is, until Rylan get kidnapped by Trevor.

This book is a bit darker than the rest, with torture, post-traumatic stress, and brain-washing just some of the subjects covered. It also edges slightly towards Sci-Fi with talk of brain chips and retina cameras. Still, the story is intriguing, full of anguish and horror.

I really enjoyed this book and the turn that it has taken, however, it came in as a 4-star for me. Something was missing, and I'm not sure what. If I figure it out, I'll let you know. Still a damn fine book though, and definitely recommended.

Well, there was definitely NO "girl" in this relationship! *snort* LOL!!! I'm just kidding! *grin*

This story involves two wolves that are pretty much equal in all things except actual rank in the pack. Micah is slower on the uptake about the whole "mating" thing than Rylan was... but this was eventually explained... sorta'!

Other than the fact that this installment seemed to have more typos, missing words and mixed up names than the three books preceding it... this was my second favorite of the series! :D

There was a lot of action and more than enough torture if you want MY opinion! BTW: If someone doesn't hand Trevor his ass on a platter soon, I am going to have a hissy fit... just sayin'!

I am seeing the storylines starting to flow better with each book of the series and frankly, there were only a few places that were a bit choppy or read a bit awkwardly in this story... like this sentence just did! ;p

Looking forward to moving on to the next story!

Side note: Loving the cover! ;D

Live. Love. Laugh.

DEATH TO TREVOR!
I love Dylan and to hear how he was tortured and used burned me.
And while Micah was a big idiot he still came to his senses. T.G
But to find that the pack was intimately betrayed is a seed unforgiving.
Hope the pisser and Trevor die in a fiery display befitting demons and black hearts.

Hope to read about Jake, Sage or Dimitri.

3.5 out of 5

Rylan was one of my favorite characters on this series and I was expecting a different story for him. This book was a compilation of up/downs for him. At least, he got his HEA with a really nice epilogue.

The book is more angst than romance, but still worked good with the previous stories. It was nice to see all the previous couples and the possibilities for future books in the series.

This was 6 books in this series which features all m/m or m/m/m love journeys of paranormal vampires and wolves. There is a lot of sexy scenes involving blood exchange, biting, body transformations and of course love. The books are explicit. The writing had a good flow to it. They was definitely cross over of characters in each book. The books can be read as stand alones but it is better to read the books in order of series.

Micah may be a little slow on the uptake, but he is one dedicated wolf. He and Rylan have their own special way of interacting that works for them, and probably only them, but it does work eventually. This book had some very interesting plot turns that kept the story moving for me. Glad there are more to come.

Awesome

I loved it! Such a great addition to the series. I loved how Micah and Rylan's relationship evolved, the snarky and snappy dialogue between them. Watching Micah realize he loved his mate was well worth the ride! Well done! I can't wait for the next story!
