Book 1 of a NEW werewolf BBW shifter romance series from debut author Robin Briar Jess is a sexy, curvy witch hiding out in a small town.
When she meets a refined, gorgeous man named Mason, she's shocked that her usual charms don't work on him. He's still attracted to her, but it's intensely physical. Jess has never felt a bond so magnetic as the one growing between her and Mason.
What Jess doesn't know is that Mason is a shifter with an Alpha appetite.
Jess and Mason try to take things slowly, drawing out each other's secrets over time, but powerful forces are at work. It's more than just intense sexual attraction. Something else is happening as their witch and wolf fates converge.
Something dark. Something dangerous.
The full moon is coming, and soon new identities will emerge.
If their new love can withstand the revelation of their secret dual natures, and if they fight hard to stay together, they might not lose everything.
Category: Paranormal erotic romance.
ENTWINED SECRETS is the first book in the SORCERY & SHIFTERS series. The books of this series should be read in order. The next in series is ENTWINED DESTINIES by Robin Briar.
I just can’t even form words about this story, it’s not well done, needs a lot of editing both in the grammatical department and in the story building process.
Disappointed because it had potential but it’s just not worth the headache.
Trope - Older woman younger man Adult content i.e. explicit sex scenes, including a werewolf in full wolf As noted by the author, books #01 to #05 must be read in order
Negatives: does not appear to have been edited i.e. poor spelling, incorrect words, sentences repeated and not a full story i.e. you have to buy all five books to get the full story, which makes it an expensive ebook.
Positives: I binged read all five books in one sitting. The snyopsis caught my attention and I was just in the mood for this type of book i.e. paranormal romance with steamy content.
With the exception of Sylvia, Baldy and Cropped Hair, I liked all the characters including those who are deemed the villiens.
Book one introduces most of the main characters and the story focuses and centres on Jessica, a witch and Mason, a werewolf. You find out about Jess and Mason's background and what drives them to do what they do.
Each book continues from where the last finished and it felt like the end of the book was just an end of a chapter (this is why I think all five books should be combined into one).
I really liked how the characters interacted with each other and learning about their backstory. The explicit sex content was integral to the story, but I found it was tastefully done. I also did not see the ending so that always makes for a good story.
If you can overlook the fact that the book doesn't appear to have been edited, and a bit pricey when you add the cost of all five books together it is an enjoyable read. I enjoyed it and am glad I purchased the five books and read them. It is worth binge reading them to really appreciate the whole story.
A great start to a series about Witches and Werewolf. The story well written strong characters and storyline. About two characters having secrets to who they really are but still open to having a relationship with each other and see if the trust is there as well as the love to open up. Settle in your favorite comfy spot for start of a new series. Enjoy.
Too far in my opinion, twin sister, beastiality. Not for me. No real plot, nothing to hook you in to the story. Won't read any more, and honestly would hesitate to read the author again.
Truly excellent writing. Story development on a superb level. Very very very very very well done. Best shifter romance I have read thus far. Thank you for this.
Jess is a witch hiding out in a small town on her version of a witches sabbatical. When she meets Mason her usual charms don't work on him however a bond begins to grow between them. What Jess doesn't know is that Mason is a shifter. Jess and Mason try to make it work by taking things slowly, drawing out each other's secrets but not everything goes as they plan.
I really didn't like this book. I hate to say it when I know someone has worked hard and took the time to sit down and write it but I have to be honest.
Jess and Mason have chemistry but the writing style is more tell then show and we only learn things throughout the story from what Jess says. Mason only has a few lines here and there and you want to know more but the reader just isn't given enough.
The relationship is mainly in the bedroom anyway which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the bestiality vibe. I'm all for shifter and werewolf erotica but in this story Mason changes into his animal form while they are having sex. I didn't find it sexy or erotic in the slightest and it was just too much for me. It had potential at times and started off ok but I just couldn't get into it after that. The incest vibe towards the end didn't help either.
Don't get me wrong, I love Game of Thrones and understand that when these things are done right it works well within the story. But this was not the case here and it did not work well at all. There will be some out there who I'm sure will like this book but I'm just not one of them.
I rate this: 2 out of 10 Awful, I now hate the bathroom!
There's a saying "Never say Never" and this book proved to me that saying to be true. I never liked this type of werewolf, but after reading this story, I am a huge fan!
Jess is a Witch Maiden whom is on sabbatical from her coven. She loves to paint and is working in a small studio teaching children art. She meets her boss's brother and is smitten, he'll be good for a nice romp, but she has no illusions after all he's not around for long according to his sister Sylvia.
Mason is taken with Jess when he sees her and decides to woo her while in town, which won't be for long. He finds that he really enjoys her company though and sticks around.. Will Jess be able to handle his dark secret though?
Read as Jess discovers what that is and how she handles it. What kind of Bond does Mason share with his sister? This story is very mysterious and full of deep secrets.
The passion in this story is strong, but sensual, I really enjoyed reading it and can't wait to read the next book in this story.
Werewolves, witches, and Secrets...what more can you ask for
This book sucks you in right from the beginning. The transitions from one event to the next are flawless. Only thing I didn't like is that it felt too short. Just when things started to climax, it ends. Otherwise, the story is relatable and raw. The emotions are bared out for everyone to feel right along the characters. You get sucked right in and ride the roller coaster with them. Mason and Jess are great together. I liked how there was no prolonged BS between them when they found each other. Sure it seemed rushed, but this gives more time and attention for the characters to grow and mature as the story moves along. Not sure how much I like the turn of events at the end though. I guess we'll see how it goes on the next book.
I feel like I only give out 1 star review at the moment, and I absolutely hate it. I find it amazing how authors are brave enough to publish their stories, but I HAVE to be honest too.
I didn't like it. Not at all. It was way to much " Tell, not show" .
And calling a mans member a snake? I am so sorry, but I just can't. Cock works just fine.
It might be one of the weirdest werewolf/witch stories I have ever read. And I felt like it lacked so much information.
And the little " incest" comment at the end. No. I just can't. I was not sold.
Will I recommend: No, I will not be reading anymore from this author.
Entwined Secrets is a great start to a fascinating new shifter romance. I like how the author has taken a lot of the things I've come to love in paranormal books and given them a fresh new spin.
The chemistry is sizzling from the start and to say the smut is voracious is putting it mildly. If you're looking for a unique and sexy series this one could be for you. I'm eager to read the next in the series!
Enjoyed the book but...I didn't like the fact that it was okay for Jess to have secrets but not Mason eventhough I understood the reason why. But let me backtrack.
The story line is good. The chemistry between main characters is great. Dragging out the story into three books not so great.
This is the first time I've read Robin Briar and so far I've like what I've read...but it's only the first book.
this was a little too much shifter...when he changes over it is unbelievable ...will see how next book goes...it is mason the wold and jess the witch....sylvia is his twin and jess works for her..seems sylvia knows all about mason and possibly was with him sexually...jess used magic and put a spell over her-self to accomodate mason while he is the werewolf....kept me reading so will continue next story
An Interesting book, but a serial. I really am not a fan of the serial format. There are also some editing issues which kept this book from getting a higher rating as they pulled me from the story. Characters are interesting and I would have liked to have gotten to know them better, but the book was just too short.
This was an enjoyable read. The only thing I found "off" about the book was the shifting during sex. I can see the "animal" coming out in someone but to shift to animal form during sex - just seemed a little off in my opinion. It was still a good read and I will probably buy the next one in the series to see where the story goes.
I'm so happy to have found this book! It's been on my TBR list for quite some time now, and I finally decided to read it after reading several books that just weren't for me. Great story, written and edited well. And a superb ending. I've already bought the next in the series and am on my way to read it now. Thanks Robin for the exciting journey, can't wait to continue!
Started off rocky, then got pretty good. The ending....got a little weird. The wolves seem to be the anthropomorphic version in some places, but leads to be an actual wolf in others. Some other things didn't make much sense, so by the end of the book I am more confused and on the fence about how I feel about it.
First, Robin has a rhythm to her writing that is unique. Her characters and story kept my interest from the start. I truly enjoy the way that she tells the story and am ending this here to go read the next book. Enjoy!
3 1/2 This was a freebie and I bought the next book! I really liked the story. The prologue hooked me but the book didn't lead up to it! I want to know what happens so I'll buy one book at a time to see how long it keeps my interest.
I dunno, I kinda liked it, but something just felt 'off'. Don't get me wrong, the sex was hot, it just feels like I'm missing something. I don't know if I'm sold to read the next one.
