I thought I was moving in with three regular guys.
Connor, Levi, and Micah seemed chill—maybe a little too comfortable with each other, but whatever. I needed the room. I figured the weird energy was just some intense version of bro culture.
Then I walked in on them–hands all over each other, like they didn’t care who saw.
And they didn’t stop. They didn’t even look embarrassed. They just looked at me.
Since then, everything’s changed.
They touch me randomly. Joke about me “coming around.” And the worst part is… I’m not sure they’re wrong.
I told myself I was straight.
But living here is starting to make me question everything—and I’m not sure I want the answers to stop coming.
Am I about to get philosophical about a 69-pages erotica book? 🤨 Look, honestly, this is my mistake. There's literally NO ONE ELSE to blame.
🤔The Non-Philosophical Review If you have a gay fetish (which honestly, please reconsider. I promise I am not judging… but I also said this is the non-philosophical part) Then congrats! 🎉 You've found a short sex book to get your kink going, or soothed …depending on how you define kink in the previous sentence.
😤 The “What the Actual Fuck” Review 🚩Issue #1: The “Authorial Experience” (allegedly) About the author: Edward Raines is an author of gay erotic short stories. Through his writing, he explores ideas of first time experiences, sexual awakenings, and adventures with other men. Some events are loosely based on his personal experiences and some are pure fantasy.
yeah… fuck no. 😐 Has “Edward” — and honestly I choose to believe this is not actually a man but a woman with a male pen name trying to sell gay erotica cz she has a kink or a man in denial trying to sell harmful propaganda — ever met a man? 🤨 Has he lived in this society? Because at this point, an alien could write better emotional and thought processes than this. 👽
🚩Issue #2: The Voice This reads as if Drew (PS I had to search for his name cz it's only mentioned once) was a woman, and the author “Edward” just switched the sex for the sake of the story. There is nothing about sexual awakening here. Nothing that resembles how real life happens. Nothing that even remotely feels like a real first-time experience.
🚩Issue #3: The Execution • harmful and unrealistic expectations • zero personality across characters • interactions that make no sense This was a wand-waving contest with absolutely no magic. (derogatory)
🚩Issue #4: The Logistics (or lack thereof) No lube. Questionable dialogue like: “Have you ever been sucked/fucked/you gone down on/by another dude?” Like… guys… you know that. “Say you’re mine” “Fuck you’re tight” What kind of twisted virginity fuck up is this? 😭
(okay Grace, breathe… we are calming down now…)
😶Final Thoughts This is too dehumanising. It turns a sexual identity into a kink and strips away: • feelings • expression • personality • identity • chemistry • and much more reducing everything to… anatomy and usage. And let’s not even get into this: Levi was the bottom → then Drew shows up → then Drew becomes the bottom → and Levi gets promoted?? Sir. this is not a corporate ladder. 💀
🚫 Verdict Eww. Please… Disgusting. Horribly atrocious. I mean, I asked for trash, but this is toxic waste.
-- Pre-read: Yeah yeah yeah, I know. You know I've been looking for trash this week, so move along.
Is a review really needed for this book? The cover and title are pretty self explanatory. It's a 69 page smut book about a guy who moves into a college house and one by one his 3 roommates introduce him to the no so straight life and the finale is all 4 of them getting their smut on in the end. The plot is basic but its a clear and easy read that can be done in one sitting and there is quite a few in the series if this is your kinda book. Not a bad Read and it fits the brief for an erotic Romance without being deep.
The slow building tension in this story by Edward Raines was really great. Professor Ryan is approached by Stephen, a football player in his philosophy class (who perceivably may have been eyeing him with a predatory glaze for months), asking for extra help over Spring Break. Professor Ryan reluctantly agrees and their first session in the lecture hall appears earnest until it is crashed at the end by two of Stephen's football friends, Jax and Marcus, who make overtly predatory comments and gazes leaving the professor feeling unsettled, embarrassed, and aroused. It's the perfect excuse for Stephen to convince Professor Ryan to move the tutoring into the more private space of his office the following day, and on the third day Stephen locks the door and makes sure to sit really close with his own laptop so Professor Ryan can watch the notes he is taking and offer any feedback. Stephen is very wicked and the poor professor never stood a chance really. His observations of Stephen's body during these three tutoring sessions, and his lamentations of never having had thoughts or noticed things like this about a man before in his 40 years of life are really hot, well-written, and make the build up to this first encounter with Stephen and the professor exciting. Afterwards, I really felt bad for Professor Ryan and his worry about the consequences for his job and possible blackmail. He receives texts from all three football players requesting "extra help" which he initially ignores, and he also experiences a humiliating stalking incident in the gym showers with Jax and Marcus. He is finally given an ultimatum, show up at their house to "tutor" them, or Stephen will have to speak to the Dean. No more ignoring the texts, they totally own him now. Time to face the music.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Drew moves into a room in a four-bedroom house. He's gay, but he hasn't acted on it yet. Connor, Levi, and Micah note his arrival, and his ass. Eventually, each of them fucks Drew, and he learns to love it. Great book, Edward.
So this was an ok read, but it fell into the category of not portraying sexy and safe dom sub scenes. Aftercare should be shown and this had essentially none. That being said the actual spice was good and the story was fine.
I fell down a rabbit hole and I'm not sure how I got here. Read a bunch of these one after the other, some were surprisingly enjoyable while others were okay.
There is zero plot, if you're looking for plot, these are not it.
DNF at 41% Honestly, it just gave me serious AI vibes. Repetitive language. Em dash in every other sentence. I just didn't get the feeling of any real human emotion being put into the book.
Okay, so I was literally just trying to pick up a third book for the month to help with my reading goal and was completely unaware that this was a short story.
Not even a story really... Just a 60 page smutt encounter. No storyline, no development, and definitely not a vibe. It's smutty don't get me wrong, if you are gere just for that here ya go. I didn't care too much for it.
