Renaissance of a Boss: Notes from a Creative Reawakening - A celebrity memoir and hip-hop icon's blueprint for reinvention, creativity, and lasting success
I enjoyed the Audible version of this book. Ross has a voice I could listen to for hours and hours and hours. The talking in third person was a little insufferable though. The story was interesting. I was entertained. It was a unique perspective into a life. I will never know and he said a few things that sparked my interest that seemed a bit crazy to me and just reminded me I know nothing about the lives of the rich and famous, and we are on different planets. But while I was living my everyday life, it was a unique perspective into a window I wouldn't normally get a glimpse into.
Rick Ross, aka “Rozay”, is an icon. His music blends themes of drugs, hustlers, and money. There is, however, a philosophical side to the biggest boss in the game. A tame animal, hungry for more.
This book was all about creativity, something we all need to learn and know to be successful. Rozay mixes humor with real-world morals to create a story of the world and people around him.
Meeting ricky rozay was an honor, book wasn’t that good but not bad either. Didn’t feel it was worth cataloging a failed Kilimanjaro trip and tour bus road trip. Definitely enjoyed it and finished in a day, too ez
Definitely recommend, talks about how to find your creative side in unique ways and stepping away to find yourself deep down. Listen to this as an audio book at work, was easy to listen to while working.
2.5 - taking life advice from Rick Ross wasn’t on my bingo card this year but here we are 😂 had some pretty good moments but overall seemed like he wrote a book about not knowing what to write a book about lol I would be more intrigued to read his memoir
"The truth is, before you can think outside the box, you have to start inside the box. The box is your domain. It’s where you need to be proficient and put in your ten thousand hours of practice before you start looking outside it. The box contains crucial information. It stores history, techniques, and best practices. It’s where you find the fundamentals..."
I never review books but I am the 3rd person to give this book stars on Goodreads so it felt rude not to. Rick Ross watches Groundhog Day, decides not to go on a hike, and then takes a road trip to get out a rut - relatable honestly.
Did I realize what I was getting in to? Nope. Am I glad I randomly listened to this? Yes. Did I know I needed to read about Rick Ross traveling across the country? Nope. Did I enjoy it thoroughly? Hell yes.
