A small volume from 1964 that I found in my local library.
It is an amusing collection of folklore, and tales regarding Luck. I cannot speak to the present day use of any of these sayings, or activities, yet, these stand as a collection of the past beliefs and practices by the compiler- editor of the Standard Dictionary of Folklore, Mythology, and Legend. This volume includes an extensive annotated bibliography.
As one might expect with an older text, there are a few superstitions that are gender based that are ignored now. The author presents a few of them as "a boy has a right to kiss, hug, touch a girl". Thankfully, we have moved on from this ideology.
