River Jordan has never been happier to end a mission. Working for the feds is not his idea of a good time as a SEAL. But part of his assignment has involved a fascinating woman that he plans on getting to know better. Unfortunately, dead people seem to ruin first dates. Who knew? With the help of his family, especially those identical to him, they unravel the mystery, and River finds a new purpose. One as protector, lover, and maybe even husband.
It's not unusual to be a woman in the FBI. It's not unusual to work with other women. What's unusual is finding your partner dead and the only person who seems to care is a handsome SEAL who takes your breath away. Swept away for her own protection, she must now get used to seeing dead people, understanding unimaginable technology, and getting to know three-hundred of his closest friends and family. This should be easy.

What did I just read? 😂🤣 Apparently there is insta-love and then there’s OTT insta-love insanity and this one had it in spades. 😁
This is part of a series which I did not read and while A LOT of characters were introduced with several non MC POV’s, I don’t think I was too lost because of the crazy insanity and kookiness that was going on.
So MMC is a SEAL and FMC is an FBI Agent. They meet when he comes to her office (FBI) for some intel or something and how long he was there or what interactions MCs had during that time is never given other than that FMC gave him some good intel because her colleague (OW) would not.
So when the story starts, MMC’s time at the FBI office comes to an end when FMC’s horny colleague/partner (aka OW) invites him to dinner at her home (it’s implied for sex but OW is part of the bad guys and has nefarious reasons for the invite). MMC accepts even though he has no interest or attraction for the OW. He sees it as an opportunity to finally go after FMC. So in front of the OW, he invites FMC to come with him at said dinner and OW is pissed but she goes along with it because she can’t uninvite him.
So while OW leaves to go home and supposedly start on said dinner, MMC invites FMC for coffee to kill time and it is then that we learn that MMC has the hots and strong feelings for FMC because apparently his family all fall in love in an instant and find their soulmate. 🙄
He invites FMC to take a leave of absence from work and come home with him to meet his family and of course she agrees because who wouldn’t, right? Anyway, when they go to OW’s house for dinner, they find her murdered and they conclude somehow that her murder is related to one of them or both of them as OW lured him (and her) to dinner for some not so innocent reason so he whisks FMC on a plane where she meets some of his family members and we learn that MMC is an identical triplet. Triplets and quadruplets apparently run in his family with all of his family members from Great-Grandfather, Grandfather, Father, cousins, uncles, etc.
All his family are in one law enforcement branch or another and they all live in some compound or something with Belle Fleur magic. By this I mean we have some paranormal trope added in where there are ghosts living in this compound or whatever the heck it is supposed to be, and one can see & talk to them as well as touch them. They also give great advice and have some hidden talents which FMC apparently takes a liking to these “guests”. Alrighty then.
Anyway, back to the story. So in terms of the romance portion, they go from A to Z in a heartbeat. By this I mean, after weeks or months of him working in her office and not having any deep conversations or anything, in the space of one invite to accompany him to dinner & coffee, MMC is in love and found his “ONE”. FMC just goes along with it because why not, right? 🤣
So after she meets his family (all 200 of them or so) they accept her as their family now and know that MMC will marry her. That’s all in the first 2-3 chapters BTW. After this, they are a couple and by chapter 13 they are exchanging ILY’s and getting engaged with the actual wedding happening at the end after they caught the bad guys.
So in between chapters, there’s MCs getting it on (with some of the quickest and forgettable sexy scenes I ever read), some chasing clues to find the bad dude which we also get his own chapters with his POVs and The End.
So if you are into OTT kooky reads with zero braincells needed, you will enjoy. 😁
SAFETY:
Safe. NO OW or OM dramalama (except for the part of evil OW that I mentioned above which MMC had no attraction or interest for at all and only accepted the dinner invite as his chance to start something with FMC)
No virgins and no past history for either MC.
Likable characters with HEA and a wedding at the end with plans to start a family of triplets or quadruplets.
DNF 8 %. I have no idea how this book was published. The writing is terrible. It’s as though it’s written for an elementary level reader. Maybe it is 🤷🏻♀️. If that’s you - enjoy!
It's always fun when past actions come back into play and the "bad" guy feels like he needs to get retribution for what happened and any member of the family will do. This one covered that perfectly and in such a way that you didn't know it was going on for quite a while. River and Priscilla were cute together and I'm glad she didn't fight the Belle Fleur magic, but went along with it and found all the good things they have to offer there. She will be a great addition to the team.

The Shadow Warriors are cleaning up some of their family's old cases . River and Priscilla find this out when an agent is killed. She also learns things about her Dad, new friends are made and old enemies dealt with by the family. Excellent read like always
