Murder in the Archives: A Completely Gripping Cozy Murder Mystery

Rate this book
A book fair, a seaside town, and a killer plot twist.

Retired librarian Amelia Clark thought inheriting her Aunt’s cottage in Maple Shores meant peaceful days and seaside sunsets. But when the town’s annual book fair turns deadly, Amelia’s knack for noticing the details no one else sees pulls her straight into the middle of a murder.

With her Golden Retriever Duke sniffing out more than snacks, and Nora, her gossip-loving bestie, fanning the flames of small-town drama, Amelia discovers that everyone had a reason to despise Lyle Patterson, the visiting author found crushed beneath library shelves.

Was it Diana Winslow, the flamboyant shop owner with a grudge? Or Elliott Mustang, the humiliated local writer Lyle mocked?

Yet the trail doesn’t end with the townsfolk. Her aunt’s journals expose long-buried scandals tied to Maple Shores’ powerful council, and uncovering them draws the attention of someone willing to kill to keep the past quiet.

Time is running out to save her aunt’s legacy, because if she doesn’t the next obituary in Maple Shores could be her own.

This is another excellent written book by Kara Post. There are lots of twists and turns in this story to keep you interested in what is happening. Amelia Clark is just staying to get comfortable back in her aunt Eleanor’s home in Maple Shores with her golden lab dog Duke and enjoying her best friend from years ago Nora Bennett who owns Maple Crumb Bakery. When they get involved in another case of murder. There are lots of twists and turns to keep anyone interested in what is happening and the local Detective Mark Evans and Detective Jenna Reyes try to keep everyone safe. There are lots of suspects that have a motive for wanting the victim dead, so it takes a little while for everything to come out. If you enjoy fast moving murder mysteries this an excellent book to read.

Murder in the Archives by Kara Post

The star of this book is Duke the golden retriever.
Amelia is thrown into another mystery at the Maple Shores Book Fair. Lyle Patterson a not well-liked man is murdered. Tie that with her late aunt's journals and messages and you have a full-on mystery. There are lots of suspects but its up to Amelia to find the right one.
I really liked this book, and it was a quick and easy cozy mystery to read. This is book 4 in the series, and I hope there is more of Amelia and Duke to come.

As a retired librarian, Amelia loves books and is looking forward to the annual book fair. But suddenly someone is dead and it looks like murder. There seem to be no shortage of suspects in the small town or lack of rumors swirling and fingers being pointed. Can the killer be found before he strikes again? I love Amelia and her bestie Nora looking around town for clues along with Duke. Another fantastic adventure with the gang!.
