Healing Together

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is let someone see you properly.

Alex
I know my reputation. Charming, a bit too confident, happier flirting than settling. It used to suit me. Then Emma turns up in Fellside with her soft curves, cautious smile and a habit of underestimating herself, and suddenly I am tripping over my own clever lines. She brings out the part of me that actually wants to try. I tease because it makes her blush. I stay close because she relaxes when I am around. And the more time I spend with her, the more certain I am that I would move mountains to keep her safe.

Emma
Most of my life I have been surrounded by people who made me feel slightly wrong, slightly too much or not quite enough. Moving to Fellside is my attempt to finally breathe without waiting for someone to tell me I am doing it badly. I expected peace. I did not expect Alex. He is confident and irritatingly charming, the kind of man who sees straight through my awkwardness. Even worse, he actually seems to like the body I have been taught to apologise for. I don’t know what he sees in me, but every time he smiles, I want to believe in it. I want to believe in him.

A blossoming romance, a village that refuses to mind its own business, and a moment on the fells that will test everything they are building. Healing takes time, but sometimes the right person walking beside you makes all the difference.

This is a re-edited and refreshed edition of the steamy small town story previously published as Blossom with Me, Book One in the Fellside Mountain Rescue series. The series has been lovingly revisited with polished writing, added depth, and a few updated story beats. Set in the north of England and written in British English.

Dani Elias

47 books279 followers
Dani Elias writes swoony, steamy British romance about women in their forties who are very good at some parts of life and quietly unravelling in others. Her FMCs are relatable, flawed, funny, and fully human. Some are plus size, some are not, but all of them are centred, desired, and allowed to take up space in their own love stories.

Set mostly in small towns, with the occasional city romcom, Dani’s books are written in British English and focus on emotional connection, lived-in chemistry, and intimacy that deepens the relationship rather than dominating it. Her heroes are usually golden retriever cinnamon rolls with a side of nerdy dorkiness, because frankly, that’s the dream.

Based in Carlisle (UK), Dani writes romances for readers who want grown up love, real bodies, real feelings, and proof that happily ever after does not come with an age limit.

This book means so much to me. And i hope it will to you as well. When an overworked corporate lawyer chooses to by her grandmothers flower shop with her bestie and move to a small town she definitely dud not anticipate falling for a mountain rescue/ carpenter. This book its the sweet spot with lighthearted fun and complex relationships with ones self. Not all plus size romance deals with confidence and fatphobia but this one does. And although Emma as done the work on herself, its had to dismiss the constant narrative fed to you. My heart felt this story in my core. Its absolutely beautiful and very well told.

This was super fast to read. Maybe not my fav out of Dani’s books but still 4 stars worthy.
It’s a novella length book, with characters in their 40s, British small town setting and super shy, plus shy FMC. I prefer strong heroines but with that said, I loved how Emma is written. She’s super shy and doubting her worth but at the end I think her character turned out to be pretty strong.
The love is very insta and I’m not at all a fan of this trope but I knew that going in and the story was overall so soft and cute that the scales were still tipped towards 4 stars for me, even with the insta aspect ;)
But a heads up: they literally know each other for 5 mines and went out 2 times and go for the iloveyous.

Alex and Emma are too cute. But that is to be expected coming from Dani Elias. Her stories that bring together MC’s in their 40’s. Men and Women that have lived a life before their later in life relationships. Plus size FMC’s. I mean, we all deserve love.

This is the First of Eight. An easy, quick read. A playboy, that everyone sees and a woman, that the right person hasn’t seen, until now. The feels you get when you read about individuals treating each other right from the get-go, and no third act break-up. Refreshing. I am definitely ready for the next ones.

Thank you to author Dani Elias and Happily Booked PR for the arc! Alex and Emma’s love story was so sweet and lovely. I love a reformed playboy especially when they meet the person for them and know that is who they want and Alex knew instantly there was something special about Emma. I also loved that Emma mostly ignored her insecurities that were brought on by what other people thought she was worthy of and that she believed Alex’s good intentions almost immediately. I also loved their group of friends who were supportive and encouraging.

ARC Review

This was my first book that I’ve read by Dani. Overall, it was a quick and sweet novella read. I loved the dual point of view, the small town setting and the fact that the characters were in their 40s. I am not a fan of the insta love trope so I felt that may have held me back on loving this story to its fullest potential.

⭐️⭐️⭐️️⭐️/ ️🌶️🌶️🌶️

A quick, but heartfelt read. A story full of raw emotion, healing, and realizing just how strong you are. Healing Together, book 2 in the Together Forever in Fellside series, by Dani Elias is an overall wonderful read. A revamp of a previously published book, Dani gives readers more depth, romance, and connection in this story. Her characters are real, mature, and strong. The light she shines on later in life romances is always welcomed by this reader and I am never disappointed.

Alex is a long time resident of Fellside with no plans of settling down. He enjoys his life, drips with confidence, and just wants to have fun. All that changes when a new woman moves to town and makes Alex feel things he has never felt before. He is quickly captivated by the new resident and has a pull towards her. Everything about her is beautiful, even if she doesn’t seem to know it. His journey from being content with his life to realizing how much it is missing and who he wants is beautiful. He truly does change for this woman he is falling in love with.

Emma isn’t as confident. She has a hard time feeling accepted and believing in herself. Her quiet meekness is easily felt through Dani’s writing. She doesn’t need protection, but needs to know there are people in her corner. Being a curvy, plus size woman she struggles with her self-esteem. All that changes when she meets Alex though. He views her in a way no one ever has, makes her feel beautiful and seen, and allows her to share things about herself without feeling judged.

I will always love how Dani combines raw emotion, true adoration and affection, and her British charm into each and every one of her stories. Her characters are so much more than words on a page, but become people I want to see happy and successful. The journey she takes readers on to see Alex and Emma get their happy ending is a beautiful, awe inspiring one. A beautiful story that you will want to read over and over again.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Healing Together by Dani Elias is an exquisitely tender contemporary romance set in the close-knit village of Fellside, where charming flirt Alex—known for his confidence and aversion to settling down—meets Emma, a newcomer escaping a lifetime of feeling "slightly too much or not quite enough," and discovers the bravery in truly seeing and cherishing someone. This slow-burn masterpiece explores vulnerability, self-acceptance, and love's quiet power, with every blush, tease, and heartfelt moment drawing you deeper into their world.
Emma's journey captivates with raw authenticity: her cautious smiles and habit of underestimating her soft curves and awkward charm make her arrival in Fellside a breath of fresh start, evolving through Alex's persistent gentleness—from teasing lines that coax out her blushes to protective closeness during village gossip and fells moments that test her trust, revealing a woman learning to believe she's enough. Alex transforms beautifully too, his playboy reputation cracking under her influence; he trips over clever words, stays near to ease her relaxation, and realizes he'd move mountains for her safety, their chemistry sparking from flirty banter to intense, affirming intimacy that celebrates her body and quiets her doubts.
Elias layers tension with organic grace: initial awkward encounters bloom into shared walks on the fells, cozy evenings dodging nosy villagers, and pivotal tests where external meddling and internal fears threaten their bond, all heightened by the village's refusal to mind its business. The British prose shines with dry wit, vivid sensory details—like crisp fell air, Alex's lingering smiles, Emma's growing confidence—and steamy adult scenes that feel purposeful, intertwining physical passion with emotional breakthroughs.
Pacing masterfully balances introspective growth with swoony milestones, culminating in a hard-earned HEA that proves the right person beside you accelerates healing. This ARC is Elias at her pinnacle: witty, sexy, soul-restoring—essential reading!

*Healing Together* is a soft, heartfelt small-town romance about learning to believe you deserve love—even when life has spent years telling you otherwise.

Emma moves to Fellside hoping for something simple: quiet, space, and the chance to exist without constant judgment. After years of feeling like she was somehow “too much” or “not enough,” she’s trying to rebuild her confidence one step at a time. What she doesn’t expect is Alex.

Alex has a reputation in town for being charming, confident, and maybe a little too fond of flirting. But when Emma arrives, something shifts. Around her, the teasing carpenter with the Fellside Casanova nickname becomes patient, protective, and surprisingly thoughtful.

What I loved most about this story was the emotional core. Emma’s anxiety and inner dialogue felt very real, especially the way she actively challenges the negative thoughts she’s carried for years. Watching Alex slowly prove—to her and to himself—that he’s serious about her was incredibly sweet.

The small-town setting adds so much warmth to the story. Fellside feels like a place where everyone knows everyone, where friends tease each other mercilessly but also show up when it matters most. The Fellside Mountain Rescue team and the tight-knit group of friends added a lot of charm and humor.

And I have to mention Christina—she’s exactly the kind of best friend every romance heroine deserves. Supportive, observant, and not afraid to call things out when sparks are flying.

Overall, this is a cozy, emotionally grounded romance about healing, self-worth, and finding someone who sees you exactly as you are—and loves you for it.

If you enjoy:
• small-town romances
• confident hero × anxious heroine
• supportive friendships
• slow emotional healing with sweet, heartfelt moments

then *Healing Together* is definitely worth picking up.

Healing Together
By Dani Elias
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Healing Together is exactly the kind of romance my heart needed. Set in the cozy, rain-drenched village of Fellside, this story follows Emma, a shy Londoner who moves to the Cumbrian fells seeking a quiet life away from a toxic past and a family that never made her feel "enough". As a plus-size heroine in her 40s, Emma is incredibly relatable; her struggles with body image and self-doubt are written with such care that you can’t help but root for her from page one. She just wants space to breathe, but she doesn't count on the local "village flirt" making her his top priority.
The "storyline" is a beautiful slow-burn that transforms into something deeply steamy. Alex, an eternal bachelor and member of the local mountain rescue team, is the ultimate "cinnamon roll" hero. While everyone else sees his playboy exterior, he sees right through Emma’s walls, falling first and falling hard. The plot balances sweet village gossip and mountain rescue calls with a poignant look at how the right partner can help you see yourself differently. Watching Alex patiently and protectively coax Emma out of her shell—quite literally rescuing her at one point—was pure magic.
What sets this book apart is the lack of unnecessary third-act drama; it’s just two people in their 40s learning to navigate a "later in life" relationship with maturity and heat. The "found family" of the Fellside community and the meddling-but-hilarious best friend, Christina, add so much warmth to the narrative. If you love a hero who is obsessed with his woman and a story that treats healing as a team effort, you need this on your TBR.

10/10 Would recommend this book to all family and friends.

This was absolutely devoured. For a shorter novella, it packs in an impressive amount of emotional depth without ever feeling rushed.

One of the standout elements for me was how refreshingly adult this felt. These are characters with history, baggage, and scars that have not magically vanished. It made everything feel grounded and real in a way that is so easy to connect with.

Emma… where do I even start? She is going straight onto my “I would fight for her” list. For anyone who has ever felt like they are not enough, like they have to shrink themselves to be worthy of love, Emma hits hard. Her self-doubt felt painfully authentic, but it never reduced her. If anything, it made her feel stronger, more human. I didn’t just sympathise with her… I recognised her.

With a little push from her delightfully meddling friend Christina, Emma begins to open herself up, and watching her soften without losing herself was genuinely lovely.

And then we have Alex. The local flirt, the supposed heartbreaker… and yet, beneath all of that, someone far more genuine. I am always a sucker for a reformed rake, and Alex delivers. What I really appreciated was that he did not just change, he showed Emma who he truly was. There is something deeply satisfying about a character choosing vulnerability over reputation.

The found family vibes were exactly what I wanted, and the side characters have me fully invested in continuing the series. Honestly, the only real complaint here is pure greed… I just wanted more. More pages, more moments, more time with these characters.

Safe to say, I will absolutely be continuing with the series.

Thank you Dani Elias for providing this ARC of Healing Together in exchange for my review.

Book Rating:⭐ 4.75/5
Spice Rating:🌶️ 2.5/5

This was such a quick but deeply emotional read that I completely devoured.

For a shorter book, it packs in so much heart without ever feeling overwhelming. Everything felt very real and grounded, especially because these are older characters with actual life experience, baggage, and scars that have not just magically disappeared. It made the story hit so much harder.

Emma… I loved her so much. Her insecurities and self-doubt felt painfully real, especially the way she struggles to see her own worth. But watching her slowly open up, take up space, and start to believe she deserves love was so beautiful. I just wanted to hug her the entire time.

And Alex?? I was not expecting to love him as much as I did. He starts off as that confident, flirty guy, but there is so much more to him underneath. The way he sees Emma, supports her, and chooses to show up for her was everything. I love a man who falls and then actually proves it.

Their dynamic was so soft and healing. It really felt like they were giving each other something they had both been missing, and I loved how their relationship helped them grow individually too.

The only thing is I did wish it was a little longer because I was not ready to leave them yet, but honestly that just says how much I enjoyed it.

Such a heartfelt, comforting read with so much emotion and love woven into it.

Cheeky Alex Had Me Swooning Hard

Okay besties… if you love a cozy romance that wraps you up like a soft blanket with a cup of tea in hand, you need "Healing Together" on your radar. 🫖💕

Emma and Alex are both 40+, and let me tell you how refreshing that felt. Their story is relatable, sweet, and full of those little emotional moments that just hit differently. Their meet-cute had me giggling because Alex is such a cheeky flirt, while Emma is all nerves, cautious smiles and self-doubt after years of being made to feel “not enough.”

And Alex? We all deserve an Alex. Patient, thoughtful, romantic, and completely smitten with Emma exactly as she is. Watching him gently woo her while she slowly learns to believe she’s worthy of that love was honestly so heart-melting.

The meddling villagers add such fun small-town chaos, and can we talk about Christina? Everyone needs a bestie like her. Meanwhile Emma’s mom… whew, that woman is a whole piece of work.

Like all of Dani Elias’s cozy romances, this story leaves you feeling warm, fuzzy, and smiling long after the last page. I’m already counting the days until Christina and Phil’s story!

Besties… add this to your TBR immediately. 💕

This was a sweet and thoughtful story. From start to finish I enjoyed Alex and Emma’s romance and healing journey, it was a breath of fresh air and just perfectly written. I honestly stayed up last night just to finish it all because I knew I’d be thinking about them and what was still to come if I put it down. So either way it was going to be a lack of sleep so better to finish and then sleep with a HEA in my head.

Emma dealing with self doubt, insecurities, body image and anxiety was written with so much love and care, reading her struggles and then her transformation to self worth and love was perfect. I felt for that girl and all she’s gone through she definitely deserves the world and Alex.

Alex man that guy was perfection all tied up in a ribbon, his immediate connection to Emma was sweet, but his absolute determination, devotion and genuine care he had for Emma was the best. He made her feel seen, worthy, supported and desirable every single time. Even when she self doubted he listened and just reaffirmed his intentions.

I throughly enjoyed this Fellside Series, it had so much in such a small read and I cannot wait to read more of this series. Addicted!! Definitely recommend!

This was my first time reading Dani Elias, and I’m really glad I picked this one up. Healing Together ended up being one of those quick reads that had so much more than I anticipated.

Emma was really easy to connect with. She’s spent most of her life being made to feel like she’s not enough, especially when it comes to her body and relationships, and that kind of self-doubt sticks with her. She slowly starts to believe she deserves happiness and love. As someone who was always told I'm too much yet felt like I was never enough, that hit home and was honestly one of my favorite parts of the story. Alex was such a great match for her. At first he has that small-town reputation as the charming playboy, but once he meets Emma you see a completely different side of him. He’s patient, supportive, and really determined to show her that she’s worthy of being loved exactly as she is. I loved how gentle he was with her while she figured things out.

The Fellside setting was also really cute and gave the story that cozy small-town feel. Overall, this was a really sweet romance and a great introduction to the author for me. I’m definitely curious to see what the rest of the series has in store!

I liked this book a lot and found it to be a really enjoyable read overall. From the beginning, I was drawn into the dynamic between Alex and Emma. Alex showing Emma what she’s been missing in life—and in love—was one of my favorite parts of the story. He brings this new perspective into her world, and watching her slowly open up to that was really sweet to read.

Emma’s journey especially stood out to me. Seeing her work through her feelings, confront what she truly wants, and grow as a person added a lot of heart to the story. It felt genuine and emotional in a way that made you want to root for her happiness the entire time. Those moments of self-realization and vulnerability made the romance feel more meaningful.

If I had one small problem, it’s that the story felt a little quick. I found myself wishing there had been just a bit more time spent developing certain moments, because the characters and their relationship were interesting enough that I would have loved to linger in their world longer.

That said, even with the faster pacing, it was still a really cute and heartfelt book. The romance was sweet, the characters were likable, and the emotional journey made it an enjoyable read from start to finish.

Healing Together by Dani Elias
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This novella is full of personal growth, sweetness and wuthering weather. Insta love in a great way, a plus sized FMC and a mountain rescuing MMC? Yes please.

Emma is shy and has a hard time with self worth because of a scumbag of a mother and reinforced patriarchal nonsense which has caused her to feel ashamed of her curves. You’ll want to wrap her in a blanket and push her mum off a cliff. No, I’m not being dramatic.

Alex is a once confirmed bachelor who’s lonelier than he lets on, he’s always been suspicious of the concept of forever but one look at Emma’s sweet face, curvy greatness and kind eyes and he realises he has been a moron.

I really enjoyed this sweet story of learning to love yourself and see your own worth despite the thorns around you. Dani has an uncanny ability to invest her novellas with warmth and emotional depth in a very short space of time and this doesn’t disappoint.

The yearning is adorable, I loved the side characters, particularly Bambi and the undeniably romantic and sweet moments will bring tears to your eyes. A lovely start to the series!

Healing Together is the first book in Elias' Together Forever in Fellside series. This contemporary romance features Emma and Alex.

Alex is one of the volunteers for Fellside Mountain Rescue (FMR). He is also a carpenter and a Casanova. Emma was a corporate lawyer in London, but when the opportunity presented, she moved to Fellside and now owns Blossom & Bloom flower shop with her best friend Christina.

Emma is beautiful, but has always been told that she isn't what men want. When Alex sees her, she is everything he never knew he always wanted. While there is mutual attraction, Emma is shy, awkward, and hesitant. She doesn't believe such an attractive, confident, charming man could be interested in her.

I really enjoyed this book and, as a plus size woman, found Emma to be a relatable character. I appreciated how her lack of self-worth was addressed, and how Alex never saw her as anything other than perfect.

This was a quick read but that did not diminish my enjoyment. I'm a fan of Elias' writing. Her books always leave me with a smile. I'm already looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.

A beautiful, quick, romance read.

Emma moves from the hustle and bustle of London for a quiet life in the fells. She takes over her grandmothers florist with her Best Friend. She’s painfully insecure and shy, following years of being told she’s never going to get a man looking like she does.

Alex is a local boy, part of the volunteer mountain rescue team. Best known as the local Casanova but he’s sick of the chase and is seeking more meaning from his relationships.

Alex is intrigued by Emma from the get go, but he’s got his work cut out for him. He decides to take it a lot slower than he usually would. He’s terrified of scaring her away but determined to show her she’s worthy.

A quick easy romance read with a decent plot. I don’t know how but Dani always managed to pack a good punch in such a short time. Her writing always manages to move me and I really felt for poor Emma. She manages to write her men as supportive and loving without being sappy and overbearing.

I really enjoyed Alex and Emma's romance story, highly recommend.

Thank you, Dani Elias, for the ARC copy of this book.

This story was great from start to finish. Like all of Dani’s books I’ve read, this book was well-paced. It had humour in all the right places, alongside the drama and emotional side.

The FMC has her insecurities when it comes to herself and relationships. She’s been put down by everyone she knows. She is a curvy FMC with a hilarious, encouraging, and confident friend and workmate.

The MMC is a ladies’ man known in the small village for being part of the rescue team. He is the complete opposite: confident, handsome, sure of himself, and what he wants. He can charm anyone.

I really liked the chemistry between the two main characters, and even though the book was short, the pacing was great, and you got straight down to the nitty-gritty with the plot. I found this book so relatable, and everything the FMC went through I felt within myself. This is the start of the Fellside Rescue series, and I look forward to reading the rest.

This was such a cute story about understanding, healing and believing in your worth. All her life Emma has been made to feel like she wasn't worthy because of her size and who she was, hearing her mother's words broke my heart, while I don't believe they came from a place of malice, it definitely resonated with my own struggles and are a testament to how words truly can have devastating affects on a person.

I loved that Alex helped Emma start to believe in herself a little more by just being there, listening to her and letting her feel what she was feeling in each moment, never diminishing or negating her feelings.

This was a quick read that had me rooting for both Alex and Emma (loved Christina and Phil as well and can't wait for their story!). I struggled a bit with the 'insta love' though, for a novella though, I'm not sure it could be helped. Regardless I still loved their story and am excited to continue the journey through Fellside. I love that these characters are older and I could see myself in them.

Thank you to Dani for the arc!

Emma is so awkwardly shy and clumsy, and Alex is exactly the determined and patient guy she needs to help show how precious she is.
Alex is a Fellside mountain rescue worker and carpenter, and Emma is new to town and owns the local flower shop with her bestie Christina.
She suffers from low confidence thanks to cruel comments from her mother and others, crushing her body positivity and making her believe nice things won't happen to women like her.
I loved how Christina helps gently push Emma to socialise and try to ignore her confidence issues, and helps guide Alex and Emma together.
This has sweet and thoughtful dates, minimal drama, genuine connection, and a daring rescue. It's a cosy and swoony insta-love romance.

Healing Together, book one in the Together Forever in Fellside series, written by Dani Elias. This is my first book by this author. When I discovered this series is about bringing together characters in their 40s, I was on board. It is hard to find a good series with characters my age.

This book follows Emma and Alex. Emma is so relatable with her body insecurities, anxiety, and, of course, self-doubt. She is more on the curvy side, which I adore. I see myself in her. The way Dani handles these topics with care. Alex, a handsome bloke, is instantly attracted to the beautiful and shy Emma. With his help and devotion, you see them both transform.

I love a story that transforms who the characters are and gives them the happiness they deserve. With everything going on in the world right now, we all need a HEA. I can’t wait to dig into the next book of the series.

Thanks to Dani Elias for gifting me an eARC of Healing Together. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A rework from the original Fellside series, following the volunteer team from Fellside Mountain Rescue. This is the story of Alex, former Casanova and Emma who has recently moved up to the small village from her big city job in London. Emma is a shy introvert who has issues with her self confidence exasperated by her toxic mother and doesn’t believe she’s deserving of Alex’s attention. Alex on the other hand is tired from his former fling says and is looking for more of a connection and longer term. It’s an instant attraction for him when he meets Emma and is willing to put in the work to help Emma out of her shell, cue the swooning because Alex is patient, romantic and total book boyfriend material -swooping in like a knight in shining armor to rescue Emma, quite literally!
Looking forward to reading the reworks of the rest of this series!

Healing Together

OMG, Dani has done it again. I love her work. Her books give me exactly what I want. I feel seen when I read her FMC's. Not everything is me but there is enough.

This time we meet Alex & Emma who are both in their 40's and whilst Alex has made the realisation that it time to settle down and it's actually something he wants to do, Emma strongly believes that she will be alone forever.

Emma has lived her whole life being told that she is basically worthless. Watching her find her true self with Alex's help was beautiful.

Dani's work is so well structured that you don't feel rushed at all even though the story is relatively short, more novella than novel.

This doesn't hinder the scope of the story at all. You still get that beautiful connection with these two characters and you start to get a feel for the side characters who I'm sure will shine in their own stories. A solid 4 stars for me and I am looking forward to returning to Fellside real soon.

I am in love with Fellside Mountain Rescue. I love this group. I love the adrenaline rush of the rescues. I love watching these guys work together as a team. I love them giving each other crap, but also being a support. The sense of family sinks in right off the bat and makes you excited for the rest of their stories.
Alex and Emma. Side note, Emma has the best ride or die friend. Christina is absolutely her person. She has her back, but isn't afraid to push her out of her comfort zone when it is necessary. She is the type of friend that every girl should have. Emma… this woman has my heart. Spend a lifetime hearing that you just aren't quite enough and at some point you believe it. I understood her at my very core. Enter Alex.. everything about this man makes me swoon. Reformed playboy, meets his woman and puts in the work?! 🫠! He just sees her and continues to show her he is everything she wants and needs.

This is quick and sweet.

Alex and Emma find each other at the perfect point in their lives. They are both looking to expand their horizons. Alex by finally having a meaningful relationship with a woman and Emma by step out of her comfort zone and taking a chance on her dream.

Alex is funny and caring. Definitely a guy you could depend on in a pinch. He confident, handsome and has a reputation around town. He admittedly deserves it.

Emma would be the quiet friend that always has your back, once she lets you in of course. Her self esteem has been shattered and worn down so much, she doesn’t believe when someone is genuinely interested in her.

Alex is just so enamored with Emma and he pays attention when she talks. He picked up on little things she said and made dates out of them.

Christina and Phil’s interactions were hilarious. Awww, Bambi.
I can’t wait to keep with the rest of the Fellside Rescue series.

- Small town romance
- Mature characters
- Instant attraction
- He falls first

This book made me feel so seen! I related so much to Emma, who has self image issues.

"I don't love myself. I'm trying not to actively hate myself, and some days that already feels like a full-time job. Poeple say confidence is attractive, but no one ever explains how you're meant to build it when every mirror, every photo and every carless comment from someone you trusted tells a different story."

But when volunteer rescue worker Alex sees Emma for the first time, he is drawn to her. Yes, she's shy, but when she speaks about a topic she loves, she lights up the room. And Alex can't stop thinking about her.

Their love is so sweet and made my heart so happy. Alex lets Emma know at every chance that he thinks she is beautiful.

I just loved this quick read!

💜 Opposites attract
🖤 Plus size FMC

This was a very cute but also very healing book. Alex and Emma's story is amazingly adorable. Emma is very insecure about herself and how others see her because she has been told she isn’t enough by those close to her, so she moves to take over her grandmother’s flower shop with her best friend. Alex is the complete opposite; he is a ladies’ man and has more confidence that is good for him, he is also part of the towns rescue team so a “hero”. The way Alex is determined to win Emma’s heart is cute, I loved the chemistry between them, it’s perfect for her personality. This book was short but also very well paced, not too fast and not too slow either. Dani is a great author, and I really enjoy reading her books.

Thank you, happily booked and Dani for the opportunity for this ARC. These are my honest thoughts.

Healing Together by Dani Elias is a quick, cute read that was easy to get pulled into. The FMC is a plus-sized, shy woman who has spent her whole life being told she should just settle because someone like her could never find a perfect man who truly loves her for who she is. Watching her navigate those insecurities made her very relatable and easy to root for.

The MMC is a mountain rescuer who has lived most of his life as a bit of a player, often having flings with women who are just passing through town. Everything changes when he meets the FMC in her flower shop, and their connection feels instant and genuine.

I really enjoyed how the story unfolded. The plot flowed well, and the writing was engaging enough to pull me in quickly. Overall, it’s a sweet, feel-good romance that makes for a fast and enjoyable read.
