Wonderful! A very thorough guide to the comic series, Alpha Flight. This book covers all 130 issues of the Canadian super-team’s first series as well as their many appearances elsewhere during that time, in mini-series and other comics as well. He also adds some interesting opinions on each issue, and I absolutely agree with his assessment of the last issue where the publishers unfairly put the onus on the readers for the book’s cancellation. If you are an Alpha Flight fan, or just want to learn more about this unique super-team, this is the book for you!
An excellent resource and reference to one of Marvels more sidelined books that lasted 130 issues, but never quite hit the massive heights of other books at the time Covering each issue. And appropriate tie ins and extra issues, this is a perfect reference guide and primer for the book.
What a wonderful look at the first volume of Alpha Flight, including a lot of non Alpha Flight issues where the characters appeared. There’s so much care put into the issue descriptions and in the analyses of said issues and it’s clear the author really loves this book and it’s cast. Even issues I had already read were seen through a new light with this book. I recognize it’s something of a niche product, but if you enjoy comics, or really the creative process in general, I think you’d find much to like in this book.
