Leaving school (because she hated it) at fifteen and in the middle of the term Carole found herself a job in a drawing office and there began a career of sorts that took her from mapping pens and tracing linen to Apple Mac computers. Her jobs were varied, to say the least, and when she changed jobs, she liked to tackle something different. Thus we follow a course through garage, corner shop, mental health social work, hospital, school, catalogues and desk top publishing. Plenty of laughs along the way, and a story that illustrates how lives, and employment conditions, have changed over the course of almost four decades.
