"In reality, none of them is winning. Not Clark, not Diana, not Mari, not Eel. None of them. Because what they don't know is that one last champion is among them. The king himself. Indeed, Darkseid has taken the form of one of them. So no, dear reader, this game is not beginning. It is already over."
Since DC K.O. came out I’ve heard only good things about it, I was so curious to read it and see if the hype around it was real so when Urban Comics proposed to send it to me, I immediately said yes. When I first started reading this comic my expectations were very high and I was scared it was just going to be a basic story about a battle royal but it end up being so much more. Darkseid is back but this time nothing seems to stop him. When the heart of Apokolips corrupts the earth, the Justice League’s only chance to defeat him is to participate in a deadly tournament where only one will survive and have the opportunity to fight Darkseid as King Omega.
If you want to see your favorites DC characters, both the hero’s and the villains, fight against each other, this is THE comic you need to read. It’s rare that I’m so immersed in a story but this one captivated me immediately from the start. If you know my book taste, you know I love battle royals and this one didn’t missed, it even became one of my favorite comic I have ever read.
My favorite part of this comic was the Knighfight chapters. Batman die in a fight but if you know a bit about Batman, you know he never truly die, that man is always two steps ahead. He gets resurrected in two alternative universes where he’s not the only Batman anymore but Nightwing and Jason Todd are the new Batman’s. This story has so much potential, I loved seeing Batman really scared for his life for once. He fought so many people, so many more dangerous people but none can scare him as much as his own sons because they know him better than anyone, they grew up with him, he thought them how to fight and they know exactly where and when to hurt him, both physically and mentally. Making Nightwing, the son who never wanted to be Batman and Jason Todd, the son who couldn’t be saved by him both Batman’s is in my opinion pure genius. (And Dilf Jason Todd is so hot)
I absolutely loved this first volume of DC K.O. and I’m so excited for the next volumes to come out, I have so many questions and I need to know who will be the winner of the whole adventure.
Thank you Urban Comics for sending me this beautiful copy, I’m so grateful for the opportunity !! (Service presse reçu gratuitement)
