If you've read my novel, you know I'm no prude. I believe we are all embodied beings, and that sexual feelings are normal.

For crying out loud, though, it appears that author Angela Knight believes that people of the 23rd century do very little other than have bloody battles and bonk like crazed weasels. I reached the point where I just thought "enough is enough."

Really, it's unfortunate. This book had an interesting premise, with an Atlanta artist called Jess becoming the inadvertant target of an attack from a futuristic "temporal jumper" and the Temporal Enforcement team rescuing her by taking her to the future. Once she gets there, though, all she seems to do is have a lot of sex with the primary rescue agent, Galen.

So much more could have been done with this story that it just seemed like lazy writing after a while. I hope Knight matures as a writer.

Simply fabulous! In "Warrior: The Time Hunters", Angela Knight has returned to the world of "Jane's Warlord" and "Warfem" to bring us a smoking hot rocking good time of a read that takes place 200+ years in our future. Time travel is commonplace, but the Temporal Enforcers use time travel to try and prevent needless deaths.

Jessica is an artist. She spends her time and energy working on her paintings and scrabbling to make ends meet and keep herself in art supplies. When she's awakened by a monster with a knife at her throat asking about her roommate, she's terrified but determined which earns her a knife in the stomach. Suddenly her house is filled with huge people talking in a language she doesn't understand and fighting to the death. Now she's awake, healed, and apparently jumped into the future never to return to her time. And she's changing, developing strange powers she doesn't understand or know how to use. And then there's the hunky eforcer assigned to protect her. He's really hot, really misunderstood, and really getting to her...and she appears to be getting to him too!

Knight's new series is bound to be a big hit. I couldn't put this book down and devoured it in one sitting. My only complaint is there's not yet a release date for book 2!

Jessica Kelly is a simple, struggling artist in Atlanta, Georgia. She's waiting and hoping for her big break while taking care of her crack addict sister. Luckily, her roommate Charlotte Holt is an understanding lady and tells her not to worry about her financial situation. Charlotte seems like the perfect, understanding roommate until she infects Jessica with her DNA and sets her on the path of a futuristic killer. Luckily for Jessica, Galar Arvid and his team from the Temporal Enforcement Agency have been hiding in her bushes, waiting for the killer to make his move. When the killer attacks, he grabs Jessica mistaking her for her roommate, Charlotte. Jessica manages to get away despite a stab wound, and Galar and his team burst into her home, fighting off but not capturing the killer. They take her to the future where Jessica initially has a hard time with the adjustment. Galar thinks he's seen the last of the little native but his commanding officer decides Jessica needs protection and gives Galar the new duty of bodyguard. He is at first resistant but his pity for the terrified native turns into admiration as she strives to come to terms with her new life and the loss of her old one. The agency is unsure of who or what the Xeran battleborg assassin was after and decides Jessica needs observation, especially when she begins to develop incredible powers like telekinesis, precognition, and the ability to blow up a training bot. It seems Charlotte Holt was not who she appeared to be and has dragged Jessica into something that not even the Temporal Enforcement Agency knows about. With a mole within the agency stalking her, both Galar and Jessica need to learn to trust in each other and their abilities in order to help save something very special to the universe.

This is a sequel to Jane's Warlord and I loved that book and I loved this book too. Jessica has a spunky, feisty attitude and I loved her quick on her feet intelligence. Galar was supposedly known as a cold, unfeeling Warlord who after meeting Jessica, turned into as soft and gentle as any male in love. I loved how he took care of her. After her initial terror at finding herself inexplicably in the future, Galar downloaded the proper procedures into making her transition as smooth as possible. He took her on a 'date' surrounded by familiar foods and scenary and tries to sooth away all her fears. His fellow agents are astounded by Galar's change of personality with Jessica. Even though Angela Knight employs the dreaded Trust Issues device as a plot between them, they both get over it fairly quickly. In fact, Galar even asks her why she forgave him so easily and after thinking about it, Jessica replies that after having grown up as poor white trash, she didn't feel she deserved any better. I thought Jessica's answer was simple and heartfelt. It was surprisingly insightful into her character and it's possibly what drives her to help out wherever she can. I hope Angela Knight continues this series of Warlords/TimeHunters and Soon!

Another excellent Knight novel!

Usually I have a really hard time with sci-fi novels, especially those that are focused in the future. I find some authors go overboard and it doesn’t feel real. Knight is exactly the opposite. The way the writes, everything feels comfortable, like you’re there, in the future and everything feels like it’s the way it ought to be. I really enjoy authors who can do that.

Jessica is an unrecognized artist who truly enjoys her work. Living with her roommate, Charlotte, she is trying to break out in the art world and isn’t having much luck. A strong woman, she uses her brain and fights for her life.

We learn that, in the future, she’s supposed to have been possibly murdered, although her body was never found. Galar is sent back to find out what happened, if it’s possible that a future collector of her work wants her dead so that her art is more valuable/worth more. The rules are that he is not allowed to change the past, that he isn’t only there to see what happened. However, looks and beliefs are deceiving, and the story holds a lot more than the obvious.

A Xeran battleborg is sent back in time to deal with the roommate - she is the object of his mission. But before he can complete his mission, Charlotte does something to Jess and hightails it out of there, leaving Jess to deal with what’s to come. A fight on her hands, her life in jeopardy, she is brought into the future. At first, she has a hard time, but quickly learns that it’s not bad.

She and Galar have formed a strong bond almost right from the first. It’s great to see that bond go beyond the norm. While you do get some answers, others are not, and I found this strange. Obviously, the answers will come in future novels, but I hate it when a story is left unfinished. Even the characters are left wondering the what and why of it all, not to mention the who.

Truly a great novel, except for that. One star missing, but I won’t miss the rest of the series because of it.

2.5 - Excellent worldbuilding and sci-fi/futuristic setting that started out really well but became a bit contrived when the sex started to take over between the hero and heroine.

I really like the description of the gadgets and the world. If it's anything Knight does well, it's create a wonderful SF world but her plots become drowned in too much (sometimes uncomrfortable) sex for my taste.

Warrior was pretty good in that the descriptive sex scenes were skippable without losing the plot but there were too many new characters introduced late in the story and the plot began to drag with erroneous detail. I may try the second book in the series to see how things progress.

Another great story from Angela Knight- who brought us Jane's Warlord!

Julie wrote a great review for this so I dont have to say too much, but this book was wonderful!

An intricately woven story from the future, this book has a great H/H and HEA ending!

I just love the men in Knight's stories- they are true alpha males ;-)

Cant wait for her next book "Enforcer" featuring Dona...

Warrior

In the first book in the Time Hunters series, genetically bred machine-like warriors, Warlords and Warfem (men and women respectively), come from the planet Vardon. Other than warring with the vicious Xerans, they police time travel to protect the people in the past, the present, and the future. The Warlords rely on their computer and sensory implants to do their jobs, which makes them tougher and smarter than most normal humans.
Temporal Enforcer and Warlord Galar Arvid goes back in time to 2008 to save artist Jessica Kelly from a time jumping thief/murderer, but the attempted murderer isn’t an art thief as Galar and his team believed. Instead, it’s a zealot, religious cyborg assassin from a Xeran faction, and he’s determined to kill Jessica and her mysterious roommate.
Jessica is a struggling human artist in her own time, but her supposed “death” rocketed her to stardom, and people three hundred years into the future are collecting her art. Torn between the life she left behind and the one awaiting her in the future, she finds peace and understanding from the man who saved her life. But Jessica is more than just human, and her newfound abilities—along with the fact there’s a spy on Galar’s team—threaten to destroy the happiness she’s found in Galar’s world.
Galar and Jessica are interesting characters, but I couldn’t relate to them. There’s desire, friendship, and trust between them, but then doubt destroys that trust. Though I understand why Galar purposely hurt and accused Jessica of espionage and murder, she forgave him way too easily, and that affected my liking of both characters.
Galar first appeared as a ten-year-old in the novella “Warfem.” In that book, he was a brilliant smart-mouthed kid who helped his parents fight the bad guys, but there was no brief recap about it in this story, which would’ve further explained his past and answered some questions.
Frieka, my favorite character from “Jane’s Warlord,” returned in this one, but he didn’t play as large a role. Riane, Dona, and Dyami were awesome characters, and I definitely liked them. The Sela aliens and the T’lir were confusing, and I’m not even sure what the T’lir is. There are unanswered questions and loose ends, but I think the plot lines carry over into the other books.
Overall, I enjoyed the time traveling parts and side characters, but I just wished I could’ve connected better with the H/h.
3 Stars

Trigger Warnings:
Stabbing, fighting (sort of graphic), beheading, drug use (told, not shown), alcohol use (told, not shown), cursing, religious zealots, murder, choking, and a sex scene that might make some people uncomfortable (he holds her down and she protests with giggles, saying it's the most she's ever been turned on. I would have called it rape except he has a mental implant that reads people's emotions so he could tell she was enjoying being submissive)

The plot was a pretty cool idea; future law enforcement goes back in time to track down aliens and other people who had committed crimes while going into the past. There's a whole other side plot going on and you don't really get it all figured out by the end. I'm still not sure what the T'lir was/is. But the whole idea was cool.

I would definitely call this erotica because there is more sex than romance. And boy is it graphic and steamy sometimes. Their "romance" is instant sex. But hey, if you were taken to the future and told you had to make a life there...why not get started? LOL.

The MMC (main male character) Galar, is your typical romance dude; tall, muscular, and dominating. Boy, that never gets old.

The MFC (main female character) Jess, is a spicy artist who learns how to roll with her situation and does a good job of evolving in the story.

Overall it wasn't a bad read. I would have given it a 4 if I had actually known EXACTLY what was going on instead of having a million questions at the end. maybe they get tied up later?

I'm to embarrassed to even admit I read this book on my page (or include it in my reading challenge) even though this book is without a doubt the most outrageous book I've ever read, the main characters are so ridiculous I thought it had to be based off some 1980's video game.

There is a character that is a fricken wolf for crying out loud! but its so stupid that I laughed my ass off reading it. I can't believe there are legit reviews for this book, some praising the author for actually writing a good book! the writing was beyond horrible though it is so laughable bad that it is enjoyable to an extent.

24th century genetically engineered Temporal Enforcer Galar Arvid is sent to the 21st century to determine if the murder of Jessica Kelly was by someone in her time or by someone who jumped through time. What he finds is much more complicated than a murder for greed. He brings Jessica to the Enforcement headquarters to try to figure out what is going on. Soon she becomes the target of an assassin, finds herself gaining unusual powers, falling for her guardian, getting dragged into a rescue mission and doing lots of fighting and time jumping. Looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

Galar is a Temperol Enforcer who goes back in time to prevent a time traveling crime, ends up saving Jessica and bringing her back with him to the future. He and his enforcers attempt to track down the Xeron trying to kill her and figure out why they are after her. Then she starts exhibiting alien powers and falls under suspicion. Interesting storyline, not everything is explained but worth reading more of this series IMO.

Will they survive Jack the Ripper

My favourite Angela Knight book. I really didn't like the "Master" series.
What does a time jumping cop and an artist have in common? The answer Jack the Ripper. How can he save her. If he does, can they ever be together? The wolf is a brilliant character as are the cop and the artist. Watch as they fight for their lives. For all fantasy lovers out their who love a romantic plot - this is for you. Highly recommended

Believe it or not, not as great as Jane's Warlord. I actually skipped over most of the erotica scenes. Several typos. The writing seemed lacking compared to its predecessor. Still a good book in the story though.

Standing outside the heroines house, the hero waits for a murder. Traveling back nearly 500 years to witness the death of the famous artist who vanished without a trace, the hero waits to see if this is something he can prevent. It's his job to stop Xeron travelers from killing in the past to make more money in the future and if his hunch is right, a traveler will soon attack the heroine. He doesn't have long to wait before he is knocked out and awakens to his alarm going crazy, alerting him the heroine is in danger. He rushes in, him and his small team, but instead of encountering a standard traveler, they find a cyborg. He's already stabbed the heroine in the stomach and manages to severely injure his team before escaping. But the mission was a success and now they can transport the heroine to her new life in the future.

The heroine wakes up to the memory of bein attacked in her home and having a sexy cop save her life. But she's also got these alarming and confusing memories of a culture and a language she doesn't know. She's told that her life was saved but that the world as she knew it must believe she has died. Now, she's being given implants to help her cope with the fact that she's in the future and alone. Well, not so much alone. The sexy cop is close by being charged with the task of protecting her from the traveler who they think will try again to kill her.

Everyone tells her that the hero is a cold and ruthless man and though she catches glimpses of this personality when he's in soldier mode, with her, he's always been warm and helpful. Her lifeline in a crazy situation where she doesn't know what she's going to do. The hero has never been the warm and fuzzy type and to his fellow soldiers, he is a hard man with zero patience or mercy. The heroine brings out another side of him, a side that he had before his lover betrayed him all those years ago. But when the heroine begins to exhibit strange gifts and his superiors belief she may be a spy for the enemy, the hero must turn cold.

Even in his heart he knows she is innocent, he can't allow another scandal to affect his family. He can't allow another woman to break his heart.

This was better than I thought it was going to be. Strange how that is. I tell myself I am not going to like this book and turn out to. I got lost in the pages of this story and read it front to back in one night. Granted it's only 280 pages or so but the smooth writing style helped to push me along. I thought the world this novel presents is unique and exciting. The whole time travel Minority Report sort of feel to it was fun and the characters were enjoying as well.

The hero could be a gruff and very harsh man when in the presence of his men. His past of betrayal and made him doubt himself. As such, he refuses to allow any weakness in the missions from either his men or himself. But when he's with the heroine, he is soft and comforting and she sees a side of him no one else sees. It's why it's hard for her to sit there while he accuses her of plotting against him. It hurts him as well but it must be done. He must know who is the mole and stop a slaughter from happening.

The heroine took her situation quite well considering. After a few freak outs, she was generally content to be in the future and be with the hero. They fell quite quickly into a sexual affair but hey, when you've just escaped your own murder, you want to feel alive. She comes to depend on the hero but also she's strong enough to depend on herself as well. This book was a fast read and though I enjoyed it, I won't say it was spectacular.

There were times that I really enjoyed this story, and was looking forward to seeing what happened. Then there were times that I skipped pages, because they were having mind-blowing-I-love-you-but-cant-say sex yet AGAIN. If you peruse my books you will see that I am all about the sexy reads. But not so crazy about the gratuitous or repetetive stuff. It got to be tooooo much by the end.
The world she created and the characters she brought to the story were great. I love the warlords, aliens, cyborgs etc. It all felt really new and fresh for a genre that is kind of getting crowded. But I felt that there was more that could have been done with the story/reltionships. If the publishers and authors would just realize that the fans of paranormal romance can enjoy and really want nice thick novels that we can really sink our teeth into and get lost in, then these short blasts would be allowed to grow and realize their potential. Don't be afraid of the 800 pagers! If you have a truly great story, it doesn't have to be sex sex sex. We will stick with you through the whole ride. I often wonder what would happen it the publishers tried a little experiment. Publish a story in two forms - the fast, sexy story and the longer world-building tale. I would bet that anyone who claims they only like the fast read would rush out to buy the fuller version if they felt a connection to the story.
So in the end I think that Warrior is my second and last book by Angela Knight because I feel that even though I loved the other parts of the story I don't really want to read the same sex scene again. They all kind of sound the same because we keep hearing the same thoughts from those participating, just with different names.

BEFORE READ

I buy the secondhand edition of this book from my friend

She once told me that she never understand with so many science fiction aspect and words in this book..

Maybe its fine with me, because, one of my favorite genre is science fiction and future theme

AFTER READ

Dunno what this book telling about =_="

Like my friend, I'm confused with this book..

Angela Knight make a good story (with highly mature content, sizzling hot, and can make you fanning yourself *lol*)

But, the way she naming her character, beside the heroine name, Jessica, make me go, huh? :/
Can she make an easy to read, an easy to pronounce name?

The story is about Galar Arvid, a time jumper police, Master Enforcer.
He is from 23rd century and must come back to 2008, to save Jessica Kelly. Jess is murdered, and Galar want to prevent that, because he believe, that the culprit is a time jumper like him..

Galar finally can saved Jess, but the danger still lurking around, so he take Jess to his time. Jess is confused for the first time, but with a help from the technology at that century and from Galar himself, she can adapt, and no need a long time, Jess and Galar attrached to each other..

But there are a mole at Galar's base, and the murderer still targeting Jessica.
Jess and Galar doesn't know, that there are great conspiracy behind this...

Don't know, if I want to read the 2nd book...

Guardian (Time Hunters, #2) by Angela Knight

If it still confused me like Warrior, maybe I will read it later when I have a time...

Galar Arvid is from the twenty-third century. He has been sent to the past so investigate the death of a famous artist Jessica Kelly. He arrives in the year 2008, minutes before her supposed murder takes place. After an intense battle, barely saving her life, he takes her back to the future where her new life will be, as she can no longer live in her time. He has to keep her safe from the killer and she has to adjust to her new life.

I was very disappointed with Warrior. I read Jane’s Warlord and had really enjoyed it and was looking forward to more of this series, but Warrior did not live up to my expectations. I just couldn’t connect to Jessica and Galar. They seemed very superficial and sort of bland. Nothing about either of them really stood out for me. I did think that Galar was very thoughtful of Jessica when she was trying to integrate into the new world. She had a lot to handle and Galar tried to make the transition easier for her. Certain times he devoted a lot of thought and effort for Jessica and that made him sweet in my eyes.

The world building was more of the interesting part of the book, but it still lacked that extra something special to make it really stand out for me. I found the whole time-travel aspect very confusing. I don’t think it is explained very well. Jessica’s exposure to the aliens never really makes sense and the test they give her is never completely explained. There are a few holes in the plot overall. I really had a hard time finishing this book. Warrior was a big, fat dud for me.

I've read various descriptions of this author's style, usually containing the words "sexy", and/or "erotic". This book raises "erotic" to "soft-core porn". In an effort to appeal to the lowest common denominator, she gives us the literary equivalent of a summer blockbuster movie. Lots of action, time travel, romance, a drug addict, and lots of sex & violence. She has a fairly decent writing style, but the characters are either stereotypes, or cardboard cutouts. It seems she is prolific in the horror/vampire/romance genres, and this is her first foray into science fiction. She wrote a sequel to this book, titled "Guardian", though I don't expect to read it, anymore than I expect to read any of her stuff. I enjoy sex, and violence, as much as anyone, but I don't want to beaten over the head with it. Both these objects can add to a story, but in this case, both seemed extremely gratuitous. Read this book, if you must, but don't say I didn't warn you.

I really enjoyed this book ,it was a brand new world that I just loved visiting and I can't wait to see what happens next .

I totally love Galar ,he's just awesome ,I really liked that he was so drawn to Jess the first moment he see her ,and I thought it was great when he helped her understand the new world that she was thrust into ,plus all the steamy scenes they had together :) .

I really liked Jess , she was great ,she's fun and I think she's what Galar needed :) ,they were made for each other ,I love that she didn't put up with his crap and that she wasn't a total helpless chick ,she was a pretty strong female lead and I was really happy with that .

I also loved all the side characters in this book ,from Dona & Dyami(who I hope get their own book) to Riane,Frieka & Wulf they were all great :)

I really liked this book and I plan on reading the others in the series soon.

For those of you who have read my other Angela Knight reviews you know that I loved JANE'S WARLORD. The futuristic warlord hero in that story is the father of one of the secondary characters in WARRIOR. Sure, there was plenty of sex in that story but at least there was a plot. After reading Jane's story and then diving into WARLORD I thought Ms. Knight changed the characters names, added a little more angst but less substance and then, I don't know what. Except to say it was less interesting. I wanted more of a connection between the H & H. Hey, even Frieka the wolf was written with more character in JANE'S WARLORD. It took me several days to finish this book and that is not saying much. Unfortunately I have already purchased GUARDIAN about Jane and Baran's daughter, Riane. Let's hope it is better.

This book was really awesome. I had a hard time putting it down and actually finished it in a few hours.
It's the first book in the new The Time Hunters series by Angela Knight and revolves around a Temporal Enforcement Agent Galar Arvid, a genetically altered Warlord, that jumps back to the 21st century to save a the pretty Atlanta artist Jessica from a time travelling hitmen who intends to kill her for profit.

Little did Jessica know that there was something as absurdly strange as time travelling and aliens that try to kill little-known artists for something as petty as money. But, while she can wrap her mind around something as out of the world as a handsome time traveler that saves her life, she doesn't yet know what her roommate still has in store for her.

A great adventure and thrilling read.

Starting reading for my local book meeting. This is a scifi romantica novel about time travel and a group of genetically altered Warlords 200 years in the future who travel back and forth to save historically important people from hit men out to make a profit. When Galar (the genetically mutated hero) spots Jessica (the beautiful artist) he falls hard and fast and will do most anything to keep her safe in between bouts of hot sex. I'm thinking I probably won't finish this one as I'm pretty bored but maybe my friends will talk me into continuing . . .

Later:Well, turns out I read the wrong book for the meeting. Figures. I have no urge to finish this now so I'll probably send it off to someone waiting for it over on paperbackswap.com.

Read first time 2013 June 16, and then on 2016 July 4. I reread the book as it is still on my bookshelf and I no longer remembered the details. I like when the hero is smart and unbeatable and the heroine is also smart. As I skip the sex parts the book didn't take too long to read but if you're into that then this book has many detailed pages. I had to look at my 'Goodreads Bookshelf' to see that I had read other Time Hunters series (which I also don't remember) and as I would like to know more of the T'lir I think that I will have to follow up with this series. I know that the cryptic messages from the T'lir won't hold my patience for long but at this point I'm willing to follow the other books.

The sequel to Jane's Warlord, Warrior continues the futuristic storyline of time-traveling Warlords and their deadly enemies. This time, our Warlord Galar is a Temporal Enforcer, a time cop, who goes back in time to save an Atlanta painter named Jessica from a temporal murder. The cyborg wolf Frieka has returned, as the companion to Baran's daughter, who appears as a secondary character and serves to tie the two stories together.

This book was immensely enjoyable to me, as it brought together two of my favorite genres in a well-written manner. I look forward to the next installment.

This one is very sci-fi. More than I usually enjoy but I really liked both Galar and Jessica. (The time traveling warrior and the painter). Jessica is just a good-ole Southern girl who finds herself dropped in another time period and the target of an assassin. Galar saves her life and she falls hard.

There are many trials and tribulations for both of them - both together and separately. A wonderful start to the Time Hunters series - kinda hard to follow and rather confusing at first but it settles quickly into a great romance.
