The Bound Blood: Veilborn Academy 2 by A.J. Moran absolutely delivered—and then completely wrecked me in the best way possible.
Going into this sequel, I was already hooked on Lindsay and her complicated, deliciously intense dynamics with Nolan, Kael, and Raiden—but this book took everything to another level. The evolution of their relationships felt natural, layered, and emotionally charged. You can feel the deepening trust, the tension, the push and pull between loyalty and desire.
Nolan continues to bring that steady, grounding presence. And their physical relationship just gives me golden retriever vibes in the best way. His innocence is enduring and somehow makes him more appealing. Kael adds depth and intensity that keeps you leaning forward. The angst of sexual tension between these two had me wanting to just shake them both. So when they finally just accepted it I breathed a sigh of relief. And Raiden? The slow burn between him and Lindsay is driving me insane—in the best way. I am so ready for them to take it to the next level. The chemistry is there. The tension is screaming. A.J. Moran, please don’t make us wait too long.
What really intrigued me in this installment was how Dorian begins to edge closer to the group dynamic. There’s something about him that feels like he could either strengthen the foursome or completely disrupt it—and I’m fascinated to see how he fits into their already complicated bond. For a moment, I even wondered if Auron might carve out a place among them… but after that betrayal? Absolutely not. The emotional whiplash was real. I went from curiosity to wanting to strangle him in record time. That twist hurt.
And that cliffhanger. Yikes. Just… YIKES. I literally sat there staring at the last page in disbelief. The stakes are higher, the bonds are tighter, and the danger feels closer than ever.
This series just keeps getting darker, hotter, and more addictive. If you love evolving reverse-harem dynamics, betrayal that punches you in the gut, and endings that leave you desperate for the next book, The Bound Blood is a must-read. I need book three immediately.

This was amazing. I loved it so much. I can't wait to read the next book after he way this one ended. It was so cool and I need more of the guys.

This book was good. I love pretty much everything I have ever read from A.J. Her books are always so good, so when I read this one, I knew it was going to be good. Yes it is most definitely a SLOW burn lol. But even without the spice this book was a 5 star read. I know in book two we will definitely get more spice and a lot more.
Lindsay is a human Who has powers so powerful. That she bound herself to 3 people, who she doesnt have to choose to love. But her powers and her men will be tested. Kiel, the demon prince is hiding something from her and pulling away, not trying to admit what she is to him, tell the very end. Then comes in the price of ghe fae. And, Holy Smokes, he flirts 🫦. In the end she gets betrayed by something she wasnt expecting to betray her. Can you wait tell book 3 to find out. YES, it ended on a some cliff hanger lol.
Definitely a 10/10 recommendation from Me

Then there’s Lindsay. Will she recover? Will she figure out what is happening to her?
This was a great addition to the first book. I love the character building that we continued to see in this book. The world building was also done nicely. Lindsay is faced sometimes with more questions than answers like in the first book. But it was nice to get the chance to see the other characters go through their growth moments as well. This book ends on another cliff hanger and I can’t wait for the next book to see what will come next in this story.

Now the veil calls to her
This picks up where book one ended.
Poor Lindsay just keeps taking hits. Being dragged into a world of magic she can't control and that too many people fear has not been good for her.
With every answer we find we get a bunch more questions. I did enjoy getting to know the men better and their relationships solidifying more. Unfortunately too many people are assuming they know what is best for her without ever giving her options or even the truths they know.
Oh sweet virgin Nolan. He gets a whole lot of new experiences and I adore his awkward nerdy self so much. He is the only one that doesn't hide things from Lindsay.
We also add in another part of the prophecy and meet a new character. Dorian is a Fae Prince and is definitely hiding some things.
The events that started everything into motion for the way this one ended were somewhat predictable. However, I did not expect that final scene and now I desperately need the next book. I know things are going to be a mess and I'm here for it.

Nolan remains my favourite, his intensity, and intentions shine through strong, loving, and true. Raiden, became more, overcoming his own shortcomings and becoming someone, Lindsay could trust and rely on and maybe even love. Kael, you broke my heart! Auron, at the end, a tear escaped.
Then there is Dorian, Winter Prince, who knows too much and seems to be only on his own side. And as more of the prophecy is revealed, Lindsay is being thrown deeper and deeper into a new world where there are more threats than ever. I felt how alone she was and how little trust she had in those who were supposed to help her.
I have no idea how A. J. Moran is going to get out of this but, gods, I need to know.

More and more questions !
And a new character Dorian. I quite like him, I don't know how much he is gonna have a role but I am excited to see him more.
I am still on the fence with Auron, he is a walking grey area. We unraveled a bit more of him and the more I read the less I know of his future, I feel he is more a puppet on a string than a master.
Our kitsune finally admitted his feelings but now he is alone for how long ?
Kael, Kael, Kael.
I understand where he is coming from but someone will have a lot of groveling to do.
Nolan, sweet Nolan. Perfect but I wish we'd see him more.
But Kael and Raiden were at the first row so I bet that Nolan will have more time next book.

This is the second book in the series so we come from a cliffhanger and end in an even worse cliffhanger (why?!).
Lindsay will have to try to control her powers because the Council sees her as a problem and there is something/someone in the other side of the Veil that is trying to get her.
Finally we'll get some spice scenes that help building her connection with some of her MMCs but don't worry because there are just a couple of scenes so the focus is in the main plot.
We'll read more about the prophecies about her and we'll have some new male povs that maybe will be included in her reverse harem in the future.
Can't wait to read the next book.

I love the first in the series. The second had me left feeling unfulfilled. It just didn't hit the same way.
It did feel a bit confusing for some parts, and I did have to jump back pages to make sure I read it right.
I'm eager, though, to try again for the third instalment when it's released and give this series the chance it deserves!
I loved that Lindsay's character seemed to become sassy again like our initial introduction!
I may have had several verbal outbursts when Lindsay did Lindsay things!
I hope to see more character background in future instalments, I have so many questions I'm dying to know the answer to.

Lindsay and her Boyz continue their adventure but feelings grow deeper and the prophecy unfolds. While I enjoy dominant male characters, Lindsay needs to know everything and make her own decisions! Men who prop women up and give them support are much more valuable than those that just want to hide a person and protect them from everything. The male characters are seeing a lot of growth (thank goodness) and the spice is starting to develop.
There are a lot of loose ends for the author to weave into an excellent ending but right now there are more questions than answers (to be expected for book 2).

I don't usually leave less then 5 stars.
Really burned out on the the cliffhanger book sales method. I might end up reading the next. I might not. Found this one by luck of the draw. Stumbled through the to familiar magic academy story formula. Finally got to something maybe original and interesting. Oops, cliffhanger..
Hopefully, I forget my disappointment at the manipulative sales tactic. I might enjoy the next chronicle if I find it later. Really do miss authors that created a new character and brought me back to the same world from a different perspective in a different time.

GAHHH, that ending! Ok, backing up……. The Bound Blood picks up right after The Hidden Mark ends. Chaos is all around and Lindsay and her merry band of misfit magical boys are left with more questions than answers. Tamsin is the best ride or die best friend you could ask for. Her nicknames for Lindsay’s guys and her ability to bring humor to dangerous situations is beyond magical. I’m taking up a collection of legos for a particular character that starts with ‘A ‘and ends with ‘uron’. If they happen to be forged with the heat of lava, then even better. Impatiently waiting for book 3.

I was waiting for this book as soon as I finished the last one. And who doesn't love a good why choose, cause I am here for it. I liked watching Lindsay grow and I absolutely adore Nolan, I felt all emotions with Raiden, Kael definitely like him. Honestly I love a good "villain" and I'd choose Dorian and Auron. It was a fun read.... until a flipping cliff hanger, I really did scream cause what... now I'm in patiently waiting for the next book.

What a flipping fantastic 2nd book of this series! We pick up where book 1 ends and it’s pure magical chaos. Lindsay wakes up hurt, bound and confused as to what is happening. Reinforcements are brought in as new characters are introduced. Tamsin with her bestie quips and energy keeps you entertained as she, Nolan, Kael and Raiden try to keep Lindsay from being bound by the school. Lots of things happen in this book that I was totally here for. You had spice and yearning aplenty. That cliffhanger has me salivating for the next book!

Sometimes I just want to shake some sense into an FMC. This is one of those times. Why so hard-headed, just because one of the MMC's seem to be trying to protect you? I feel like get over it and open your eyes, pay attention to what you just learned in the prophecy! Um betrayal....hello
So good, snarky, a bit more steamy, steamy build up as well. Great friends, love the budding relationships building with the guys. Can't wait to see who all she ends up with, and how she gets through all this. Loved it!

What a fascinating title for a book! It certainly grabbed my attention, leading me to discover the synopsis. The story certainly kept me entertained and the mystery kept growing bigger, yet it’s only book 2! Lindsay certainly has her hands full with school and the guys, along with some new characters that come on the scene. The Veil sure has some surprises that jumped out and made me gasp out loud while reading. Ms. Moran keeps up the humor and wittiness, such as one character being dubbed ‘Frostbite’ by another! This line is just one example that had me laughing and giggling.

This book starts where the last book finished and it doesn’t let up until we get to the next cliffhanger. Gahhh!
This book, to me, is where Lindsay gets pulled deeper into this world and very few questions are answered. This makes for great, but frustrating reading.

This series has been awesome so far. We definitely have a slow build & slow burn to the harem....but it kicks it up in this book. 🔥🔥 I love the world building & the MMC's. We get to peek into their minds with the multi POV. Our FMC is learning who she is, but also that trust is hard earned. There's so many secrets and twists and turns. I can't wait to read the next book. Definitely recommend this series!

reverse harem, female Harry Potter vibes
This is book two of a series with Harry Potter vibes and an enemies-to-lovers, reverse harem twist. Lindsay is starting to understand her powers… and her men, but something still doesn’t feel right. Author A.J. Moran adds new layers to this world, revealing more secrets and ending on a massive cliffhanger. I’m already looking forward to the next book and hoping we finally get some answers… preferably without another jaw-dropping gasp.

I knew going in it would end on a cliffhanger but OUCH it was a harsh one. 🥲
Nolan is still my favorite and I wanna hug Lindsay so bad. Poor girlie is really not given any clues helping her enough 😔
I just KNOW Auron is going to be a key point to understand the whole mystery around Lindsay and I cannot wait for the next book to be out !

Wow! That was a cliffhanger! If he ends up as one of her men, there better be lots and lots of groveling. I knew what was coming, but it still hurt my heart when it happened. On another note, Tamsin is one of my all-time favorite besties. I LOVE her and her snarky behavior. The nicknames she gives the guys, especially Kael, had me rolling. I know I shouldn't, but I think I like her more than Lindsay. I need more Tamsin! I can't wait to find out what happens after that ending.

This second book was an amazing, emotional read as Lindsay is drawn deeper into this world. The Council has tried to bind her magic but failed spectacularly. Nolan, Raiden and Kael are by her side as well as her friend Tamsin. New characters are introduced in this I really liked. I loved the humour, the twists and turns and the cliffhanger was jaw dropping. Looking forward to the next book.

i absolutely LOVE this series!
Im in love with this series so far! I love all the characters too i hope auron can redeem himself since he really didn’t have a choice and i kinda want to see her with dorian too! I hope we get a couple more books outta this series bc its soooooo good! I cant wait til nov for book 3! 🩷🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

WOW what a cliffhanger! This is book 2 and just as good as book 1. Characters are so developed, we all know these people. So much intrique, secrets, lies, love, true love, spice and friends. From the Winter Prince, Shadow Prince, Kitsune family and a nerd all over a young woman. I love reading these books about life and the choices they make and right or wrong. Good job A. J. Moran.

This series really keeps you engaged. I'm in love with all of the characters. Raiden was working my nerves at the beginning though. There were also a few moments where I was a little confused by the jumping perspectives while covering the same moments, but overall this was a good read. Mind the cliffie.

I absolutely love everything I have read by AJ Moran so far. Lindsay's story is no exception. While I am very much a spicy read lover, there just something in a slow burn that I need from time to time. That build up, and tension, yes please. I cannot wait for more!

Omg Lindsay has turned into one of those too stupid to live characters.
Her pride making choices she knows are bad is exhausting and annoying.
There are tons of partial truths told, semi discovered prophecies and funny friends.
I'm sad the actual school bit has pretty much disappeared though.
I'm definitely reading the next book.
