On January 21, 2017, five million people worldwide united in 82 countries and across all seven continents, their voices echoing a single women's rights. The Women's March, born from this unifying force, swiftly expanded to encompass numerous issues debated during the 2016 U.S. presidential race, including immigration, healthcare, environmental protections, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, religious freedom, and workers' rights. In just 66 days, from the election to Trump's inauguration, 673 sister marches emerged globally. ABRAMS Image introduces 'Why I March' to celebrate this movement, support it, and inspire future activism. All book royalties will be donated to the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, the Transgender Law Center, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
