This is a very filthy book. Its typical of old erotica in that the men are endlessly virile and the women baudy and voluptuous even if initially reluctant. The story is of a ship-wrecked sailor who finds himself given succour in a harem. The women tell him their stories, and then he screws them. That's it. Its rather well-written and if you enjoyed Fanny Hill, you will like this too.

An English sailor washes up on the coast of Morocco and finds sanctuary in a harem. He convinces each of the concubines to tell their stories of debauchery before diddling them all. Typical Victorian porn to be honest. The author didn't seem to know any other words beside crest for penis and sheath for vagina and I really didn't want to hear about sperm being balmy.

Should I be concerned about myself that I was feeling better to read this book after finishing 120 Days of S? The passion that I was longing for, and the admiration of the writing that was quite ambitious. This is what I meant by sensuality in terms of forbidden and taboo. This also can be described as a fun exploration, born of a wild imagination.

In 2018, 'A Night in a Moorish Harem' and other classic erotica are in the public domain and free on the internet. Before Stanley v. Georgia, people were arrested for selling this - just one of many materials in a long history of book censorship and obscenity laws. What else can I say about this book other than that it is STRAIGHT UP Victorian erotica? If you want to know what kinks people were into in 1896, look no further.

Aristocratic British pervert smut. Excerpts:
>her big womb pressed against my crest
>I seemed to have changed my sex and to be a woman actually enjoying the thrusts of her paramour
>We pressed our bosoms together and we squeeze together the little mouths at our loins
>I responded by giving her a deep, prolonged thrust, then I braced my toes in the hot crevices where they rested and rammed my shaft completely home again and again (he's toeing pussies here)

Classic erotica indeed. Saucy fun picked up in a second hand book shop.

This is clearly better than the first book in writing and the art is a tie- a group of artists who all did well capturing the time and place of the flashbacks tasked to them.

The writing was better because the sex he was having in the present was barely illustrated and more-so implied. Why? One guy, no longer a young man, going from one women to the next as their stories were told to him and giving EACH a "tribute" with the kind of voracity he had in the first book is absurd to anyone who knows how these things work.

The greatness of the book itself, in original and adapted form, is the variance in stories of the women from around the world- the different customs, taboos and settings that make their flashbacks so interesting. The sex in their stories is far more interesting than his unavoidably repetitive repetitions in the harem.

This book did well to feature 8=Sir Stunt Cock=D-- revealing his personal lusty endeavors of youth- a disclosure by him was overdue and he did well in telling two. They were just as good as the women's stories and, being in the center of the book, set the tone for the final women's stories which came as a surprise to both him and the reader- I won't divulge the who or wheres of the women but I will say that the last one is the most interesting of all that have led to it in both books!

I found myself wondering, even more than I did during the first book, why they're under the "Amerotica" imprint of NBM instead the more fitting "Eurotica". Americans made it you say? Not quite- there were enough U.K. creators to call a book that was entirely European by it's more appropriate name.

An interesting project where a group of amazing cartoonists (Mark Bodé, Eddie Campbell, Colleen Doran, Stefano Gaudiano, Molly Kiely) adapt portions of a classic historical erotica. Written in 1904 by someone using the pseudonym "Lord George Herbert", the book entitled "A Night In A Moorish Harem" served as a bit of pulpy storytelling about a shipwrecked British captain who ends up in the company of a Moroccan harem with many concubines of different nationalities. Each woman recounts their own story to the sailor, and in this graphic novel, each cartoonist takes up the task of drawing said story. While the stories themselves were entertaining, they also sort of blur together narratively. But getting to see artists like Mark Bodé, Eddie Campbell, and Colleen Doran tackle erotica was pretty fun stuff. Definitely an enjoyable read overall.

The book overall was repetitive and uneven. Only a few of the stories at the end captured my attention, but at the time it was written and released, I can understand why it was scandalous.
