All that you deserve, by: Jacqueline Whitney Andrea Recinos
To be honest I had never had the chance to read a mental health/poetry book and this book definitely left an impression. If I had to describe it in a simple word, I’d say “wholesome”. For it to be that short and sweet I can say I was surprised by the content it had, and the way you can feel each poem. It is a gentle reminder of self-worth.
I was not so clear how the book was supposed to be read but after trying to read it like a normal one, I realized it was in the poetry format and that is how I got to actually start to enjoy every page. It was a surprise every time you turned one just to discover a new page reminding you how it is okay to feel, okay to not know yet you deserve to be proud of how far you have come. I’d say I bookmarked almost every page because each made me feel so appreciated, this author reminded me how worthy I am of everything positive that shall come my way and be gentle with myself because of how much I have done and will do. Some of the reminders or quotes that I wrote down because they resonated so much are the following: “Hold your soul with compassion” “Scars don’t hurt” “Yes, your feelings are valid… ALL OF THEM” “You are brave for loving after love hurt you” “Give yourself all the time and attention you need to heal” “You didn’t ask to go through what you do and you are so brave for enduring it” “It’s okay to not know” And for sure the last page was my favorite poem of them all.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is struggling to find peace, to anyone who might be hurting, lost, confused, or overwhelmed. I know the comfort you will find in each page and I’m sure each word will be just as sweet as honey. You deserve all the love that is to come your way, you deserve to find peace even in the most chaotic times, you deserve to feel and not know whenever you are lost or overwhelmed but you also deserve to be merciful with yourself because you have come so far, you deserve to be loved by someone who has only unconditional love to give you. You cannot wait until things get “better” to start feeling better or the “perfect” timing as it will not come, instead feel and live every step you take in this journey of life, absorb from it, positive and negative.
It actually saddens me how underrated this book is because I genuinely believe everyone should get the chance to read it not only because I know all of us will relate to some extent but I know how much people, specifically in these times, suffer and struggle with their mental health. Yes, I know a book will not magically make you feel well but reading a page, a daily reminder, can give you the strength to carry on for at least that day.
As someone who is in their early 20s and just trying to navigate life, this is a great read. It’s a good pick me up when feeling like the odds are against you. Was more of a poetic book.
this is cute and all. it's like little poems and stuff, dealing with mental health and well being.
I would have enjoyed it if it was my first time reading a book like this. But to me it just sounded very repetitive. Full of pieces I've read already many many times, on tiktok, instagram, other books, and so on.
This is a nice book, at all.
"You should", "You will", "You deserve", ini tuh jadi perawalan kalimat yang paling banyak aku temukan di buku ini. Ya, hal ini memang seakan-akan mengajak reader agar tersugesti dengan kalimatnya.
Unfortunately, this book didn’t resonate with me. The content felt extremely repetitive, the same messages seemed to be restated on almost every page without offering any real new insights. For readers who have already explored topics like mental health or self-care, there’s little to take away. The writing reminded me more of postcard or Instagram captions, which doesn’t really carry enough depth for an entire book. Maybe it could work for someone completely new to these topics, though I find that unlikely. Overall, it dragged on and sadly didn’t manage to connect with me emotionally.
“Tell the people you love that you love them. Tell the people who have been there for you that you couldn’t have gotten through without them. (…) Be yourself, not anyone else.”
O primeiro começado e acabado do ano.
3.5🌟 There were so many beautiful moments in here and I love the cover of the book but it was so repetitive at times. I mean this literally like I actually read some of the exact same poems more than once in different spots.
"You are worth more than you know , you are worth more than anyone's opinion." "You are where you have to be and you will reach wherever you're destined to be. "
Such a positive and inspiring read! I encourage everyone to read this because everyone deserves to feel love, happiness, comfort, excitement, and peace 🤍
I bought this for my girlfriend who recently had a heart transplant. While portions of the book are more prone to breakups it’s a fantastic message of self love and being worth the journey and the healing. I read and annotated as a personal gift and there’s so many beautiful messages in here
