Welcome Back to Camellia, Louisiana

Dr. Rowan LaFleur has been waiting a lifetime for the perfect, faith-filled wife and a family of his own, until a tempting proposition from the sexy, tattooed stranger who saves him from anaphylaxis leaves him questioning everything. Claire Bergeron is bold, brazen, and recently divorced—the opposite of what Rowan envisioned for himself, yet utterly irresistible. Still, a one-night soulmate experience isn’t enough for Rowan to sell his soul, even at the risk of further damaging Claire’s tender heart.

Confident she’ll never face Rowan again, Claire reinforces her walls and puts the disastrous encounter behind her. But when the adorably wholesome doctor turns out to be her best friend’s brother and the newest addition to small-town Camellia, Louisiana, the awkward vibe is the least of Claire’s worries.

Rowan struggles with his fall from grace, but as his infatuation with Claire grows stronger, so does the call toward marriage and family. Meanwhile, Claire’s still afraid of falling short, especially with a walking green flag like Rowan. Discerning that she’s everything he’s ever needed in a wife is only the beginning—Rowan will need to convince Claire to give marriage a second chance, even if that means begging on both knees.Walking Green Flag is the fourth minty romance in Marie Veillon's Camellia Rom-Com Series. This novel also incorporates Cajun and Catholic themes.

I love the way Marie writes. Because her books are fade to black she relies completely on writing emotional intimacy into her relationships to make you fall in love with these characters. And what she does, she does well. The banter and yearning are top notch! I loved the glimpses of Rowan we have had in this series and diving deeper into his character was great! Claire and Rowan had such real interactions and watching them navigate their feelings while trying to stand on their convictions felt very accurate to real life. The healing they both had to go through was refreshing and even when judgments got away from them, I appreciated how they found their way back. The catholic themes are heavy in this book, but are very enlightening and encouraging!

This was such a sweet, feel-good read. Rowan is honestly the definition of a walking green flag—kind, faithful, and completely swoon-worthy. I loved watching him and Claire grow together and work through their pasts.

The small-town Camellia vibes and Cajun touches made the story even more charming. It was cozy, heartfelt, and left me smiling. If you love wholesome rom-coms with depth, you’ll love this one! 💚

ARC Review:

This is the fourth book in the Camellia series, and Rowan and Claire's story is one that genuinely stayed with me. Walking Green Flag was easy five star read, and I loved how much depth this story had, even while approaching heavier topics with care and intention.

A LITTLE SPOILER!

What stood out to me most was how the book explored faith, values, and love alongside Claire's fertility struggles in a way that felt honest but never overwhelming.

In reality the whole book was amazing, but one of my favorite parts was the extended epilogue, when Rowan and Claire realized that they had actually met before and were unknowingly connected long before they understood what they meant to each other. Learning that Rowan had prayed for her from the very beginning added so much meaning to their story and completely reframed their relationship for me.

I also appreciated how Rowan explained Catholicism to Claire in a patient and respectful way, even though she wasn't really religious. The romance being closed door never felt lacking because the emotional connection and banter carried the story so well. Moments like him lending her his drawers added warmth and humor, and the epilogue reveal was the perfect way to close the book.

All in all, I loved it!

Tropes:
- Catholic Theme
- Rom Com
- Fertility Awareness
- Small Town Romance
- HEA
- Closed Door

It's no secret by now that I'm a big fan of a good awkward meet cute. And this story? We get not one, but two awkward meetings... even if they never officially met the first time around. It was followed up by what could have been one of the most embarrassing first 'dates'... but was one that truly came across as completely endearing. I couldn't help but feel bad for Rowan from the start. And yet, there was still this immediate chemistry between them that was absolutely undeniable. Of course, the last thing they expected after a failed one-night stand was to discover that Claire was actually best friends with Rowan's sister. Talk about awkward! I couldn't help but enjoy the dynamic between these two... there was that awkwardness, yes... but there was also a tenderness between them... and plenty of moments to keep me laughing too. I truly couldn't help but enjoy their story.

Now, let's talk heat level/spice, shall we? If you've read any of Marie Veillon's Camellia Rom-Com series, you already probably know that her characters/stories aren't shy with the innuendo. While the story does take on a biblical/Catholic view of sex before marriage, it's still talked about pretty openly. A LOT. The door may stay closed, but again, this story starts with a failed one-night stand, and the physical aspect of their relationship played a big part of their story going forward. Marie calls her books minty (or PG-13 equivalent) and honestly, that fits them well. As such, it might not be one that all closed-door readers are going to find fits into their comfort zone, so do keep that in mind. There is also mild/moderate language throughout.

Walking Green Flag is the fourth book in the Camellia Rom-Com series. I have personally only read the one previous book and found I was able to enjoy this one just the same.

ARC Review - I’m so thankful to have had the chance to read this story before it comes out February 2, 2026.

“One kiss from you was more than enough to alter my brain chemistry forever.”

First things first, that prologue. Amazing. If you’ve read the first three books in this series, you will just about die laughing. It takes place during a scene from book two from a very different point of view, setting up the first few chapters of WGF perfectly.

Being inside Rowan’s head we see how fulfilled he is by his faith and family, yet struggling to understand why he hasn’t received his happily ever after as the last of this siblings still single. Newly divorced Claire has the need to bolster her tough outer shell while feeling everything, deeply and loudly on the inside.

This story was perfectly imperfect. It showed how two people with different backgrounds can meet, fall for each other, and yet let their perceptions and even unintentional judgments about the other impact a possible happy ending. They each learn hard lessons about themselves and trust in relationships. These lessons are earned through the time they spend with each other and in each conversation with friends, the rest of the Camellia Crew. I adored the moments each of them had, giving Rowan and Claire the opportunity to talk and get advice on how to navigate their feelings. And being with other loved characters made me laugh, giggle, and appreciate their own growth all over again.

Not a boring green flag ;)

This story was yes full of the usual butterflies and tummy flutters from all the steam and yummy moments between these two (still closed door but hot 🔥) but it still shines a light on the struggles of waiting, of distrust in God and forming genuine relationships. And it handles these topics beautifully and tastefully.
Rowan is supposed to be a green flag and yes he has all these wonderful qualities. Definitely not the bad boy type but he's not flawless. I absolutely love that this book highlights that. As a matter of fact his growth was the most exponential in this story. Good men - green flags can sometimes come off as plain & boring to the young mind but my guy here got some layers to him.

I would like to think I would better decisions than the MMC in some certain situations in this book but we do often forget how weak our flesh is when we try to fight some battles on our own.

There were definitely lots of laugh out louds, fan yourself moments in this book but I think this read was richer than your typical rom-com.

10/10 would read again.

The story of Claire and Rowan.
Set in small town Louisiana, this book shares with the reader the story of fiercely independent/walled off Claire and the “dangerous” virgin doctor Rowan.
Claire is so well developed that I truly felt like I was reading my own story on the page after going through such familiar struggles, but in such a way that I couldn’t stop reading to see how her story ended.
Rowan is the perpetual good guy who hears so often that he’s “just too nice”. There were so many times that their communication made me want to shake them because they each meant well, but the words didn’t come out right (and how often does that happen in real life… all the time).
The way Veillon weaves in the characters from the previous books, makes the reader feel like they also live in Camellia and these characters are family.

Mildly spicy with dirty jokes and tame make out scenes.
High Catholic overtones, but that didn’t feel like it was too much.

Such a great, wholesome, lighthearted read with fantastic banter.

This was such a charming addition to the Camellia series! It started with an absolutely adorable meet-cute that had me hooked immediately. I’ll be honest—the middle section (from about 10% to 50%) was a bit frustrating due to some heavy miscommunication. I wasn't always sure why Claire was so upset with Rowan, and the arguing felt a little confusing.

However, once the air cleared at the halfway mark, the story really took off! It became super cute again, and the spiritual element was handled beautifully—I loved how the gospel was shared. Also, Rowan might officially be my new favorite guy in the series. Definitely worth the read!

The Good: Rowan! He is top-tier and might be my favorite lead in the Camellia rom-coms so far.

The "Meh": If you aren't a fan of the miscommunication trope, the first half might test your patience. I spent a good chunk of the book wondering why they were even fighting!

The Verdict: Stick with it! After the 50% mark, the chemistry and the "cute factor" return in full force. It’s a heartwarming story that finishes so strong.

Walking Green Flag is a soft, intentional, and faith-centered romance that truly stood out 🤍

This story is about more than attraction—it’s about commitment, healing, and believing in marriage again. Rowan is the definition of a green-flag hero: kind, emotionally mature, and guided by his faith. Claire’s vulnerability and fear of opening her heart again made her journey especially moving.

The Cajun small-town charm, Catholic themes, and closed-door romance created a warm, comforting reading experience. The chemistry is there, but the focus stays on emotional depth, values, and long-term love.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ — a wonderful choice for readers looking for a wholesome, faith-forward romance with heart and purpose.

Rowan has been saving himself or marriage. When the perfect woman saves him from anaphylactic shock he finds himself struggling to remain in control and not give in to his temptation. Claire feels relief in the knowledge that she will not see her near one night stand again. However fate provides otherwise when she realizes he is her friends brother. Will Claire finally let Rowen in and give her heart to him? Or will she continue to push him away because she feels unworthy as a divorced woman with fertility issues. This was such an incredible love story. I loved it so much. I think it might be my favorite of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by bookfunnel.

Marie Veillon does it again! I adore this series and this story more than I can accurately put into words. The banter is hilarious and hot. The characters are lovable and feel so real. This story touches on some tough topics with the seriousness they deserve while staying light-hearted. I don't reread books often (so many books, so little time!), but this book reminded me how much I loved the previous books in the series. I'll be diving into a reread of this series very soon. I love seeing Catholicism portrayed in a positive and true light. Also, Marie, please write more quickly, lol. I need more of your books in my life.

Moderate cursing(no f* bombs), not spicy(no on page s*x), but feels spicy .

Recieved an ARC.

My favorite of the series so far!! I am so grateful I was able to read an ARC of this novel. I devoured it in one weekend despite being a mom of three boys 5 and under!

This one felt the most relatable in a lot of ways and seemed to have the strongest Catholic answers to suffering, temptation, and marriage. Rowan’s character is well developed and a refreshing take with having the male facing the struggles of temptation while waiting for marriage. This is a bit more than a sweet romance spice-wise, but no explicit sex scenes.

ARC Review - 5 ★★★★★

I was so in love with this book!! it was absolute perfection & it was gives me everything i wanted to see from this book. The chemistry between the all characters is amazing, but was especially amazing to see that the main characters/main couple of this book were actually taking the time to get to know each other without them having sex or also without sex being involved at all. But they did show their love for each other through all the small actions & quiet care which that really made their relationship feel even more special for me.

This is a 4.5-star read for me. Rowan and Claire have a funny meet-cute and are definitely part of a sweet rom-com–style story. They do, however, have to overcome their own personal battles.
This book is heavy with Christian (Catholic) faith. It’s the fourth book in the series, and while I do encourage you to read the others, it can also be read as a standalone.
I really related to Claire and loved her story! Marie does a wonderful job of making you feel emotionally invested in all of her amazing characters.

Such an enjoyable read. Claire is such a relatable character for me as a divorced person. As someone who grew up in a private school Rowan is very familiar character to me also. I love that he finds his person in someone that is not at all like he would have imagined but isn't that God's plan for sure. I love that he keeps pushing and showing up to prove that she deserves the world and by doing so she gives him his HEA. The yearning these two have for each other is amazing. Marie is the best author hands down!

So glad I was able to get an ARC of this book.
SLUTTY 👏🏻 LITTLE 👏🏻 GLASSES 👏🏻
I love every book in this series because the town and characters are so fun and different. We got a look into some more of the LaFleur family and got to see someone get knocked down a peg or two 👀 we got angst and lots of miscommunication, but the steamy chemistry is always a win!

Loved this one so much! I adored Rowan & Claire together. She was everything he was so not looking for, but everything he needed. Love being back in Camellia with the whole crew. And the boys text group and their growing friendship?! The best. Reader note: this is closed door but maybe more FTB, they definitely deal with temptation.
