This really took off in a direction I didn’t see coming, and I actually enjoyed how much it leaned into unpredictability and big fantasy shifts. It keeps a fast pace and there’s always something happening, which makes it a very easy book to fly through.

Caris and Torgrin’s dynamic continues to be a real highlight, very intense, very emotionally charged, and full of that push-pull tension that keeps you invested even when they are not on the same page.
There’s a lot going on in this book in the best way, romance, power reveals, battles, and high-stakes conflict all woven together, which gives it a really strong sense of momentum.

I did find myself wanting a bit more space to sit with Caris’ magic and backstory, just because there are some really interesting threads there that could be explored even further.
That said, the world and story still feel rich and engaging, and it’s very much the kind of romantasy that prioritises pace, emotion, and big reveals over slow exposition.
“I love you because you are brave and tender, because even after all you’ve endured, your heart still gives.”
It wraps in a really satisfying way, and the conclusion feels like it delivers on both the romance and the wider story arc in a way that ties everything together nicely.
Overall, this is a fast, engaging romantasy with strong emotional tension, great chemistry, and a storyline that keeps you hooked right to the end.

I just love having fantasy stories that are done in 1 or 2 books.

I love this series and I’m sad. It’s only two books I can’t wait to see what Ivy Cliffwater right next

Storm Weaver has released here in New Zealand, and I finally got my sneaky little mittens on a copy.
It picks up where Shadow Weaver left us.
Caris has discovered she is the daughter of Yaris, the Queen of Pedion and no longer just a legendary sword maker. She travels to Northcliff with General Toro and company to meet her father and long-lost twin after learning Torgrin is Cursed as a Storm Weaver.
Torgrin and Atlas have returned to Murus to protect Ania and Wolfe Warwick, and to restore Murus back to its original self, when King Hared arrives to negotiate an alliance and forces Torgrin and Atlas to become generals for him and send soldiers to claim back Capita.
The alliance causes power struggles, things become increasing volatile in the kingdoms causing Caris to have to protect the people she loves and fight for what she loves.
Overall, I enjoyed this booked. The world building is simple and refreshing. This book is great for those who are getting into romantasy books. The dual POV from both Caris and Torgrin was a perfect addition to show the character development and the duology was wrapped up nicely.

I struggled with the start of this book. Really struggled to enjoy it. I ain’t like storied where the main characters split, and once they were reunited I felt the story lift.

I absolutely loved The Storm Weaver. It completely captivated me from the very first page, and my interest never once wavered throughout the entire journey. When it came to the main characters, they received a genuinely beautiful and satisfying ending that wrapped up their personal arcs perfectly.
However, as the conclusion to a duology, the broader ending didn't feel quite as satisfying as I had hoped. I was left with several unanswered questions regarding the fates of the side characters and the final resolution for the overall world. It felt like a few too many narrative threads were left hanging—almost as if the story relies on the author expanding this world in future spin-off books rather than tying up the macro-plot right here.
However, as the conclusion to a duology, the broader ending didn't feel quite as satisfying as I had hoped. I was left with several unanswered questions regarding the fates of the side characters and the final resolution for the overall world. It felt like a few too many narrative threads were left hanging—almost as if the story relies on the author expanding this world in future spin-off books rather than tying up the macro-plot right here.

The tone of this sequel takes a darker turn from the tournament and love triangle in book one but it still worked, giving us more power struggles and high stakes action. Shit really hits the fan after halfway through. There’s a dragon, shapeshifters, prophecies, summoning gods..I didn’t think I could be so attached to a horse, Caris’ sassy Nightmare.
The ending was satisfying, I’m glad we were given a proper one for Caris, getting a glimpse into her future. Although I wanted to know more about the fate of the other characters too, especially Atlas and my new favourite character, her brother Theon! The only sad part of this is that it’s a duology, I’m not ready to say goodbye to the characters yet. Cillian will always be my favourite though.

I think that this is more of a right book wrong time situation!!
I wanted to love this book so much… but unfortunately it just fell a little flat for me. I really enjoy Ivy Cliffwaters writing and her world that she has created. My main issue with the series is that it should be literally double the length. Ivy Cliffwater 100000% has the means to create a super in depth and immersive world and I think these books are just too short for the world. Even as a trilogy this would have been amazing.
I will 100% be buying and reading future works of Ivy 🩵

I enjoyed book two, however it didn’t seem as ‘spicy’ as book one. IYKYK.
I wish Storm Weaver was slightly longer so we could further explore new family dynamics- at times it fell a little flat.
It would have been nice to have more detail toward the end of the book- I needed more closure to really wrap up and say goodbye to the characters I’d grown attached to.
All in all, I’ve really enjoyed both books in this duology and can’t wait to see what Ivy writes next!

We are back with kingdoms in peril and Caris and Toris being torn apart.
I should have read The Shadow Weaver again closer to this one to help refresh my memory but after I hit the half way mark the plot really picked up and I thoroughly enjoyed where it went.
One of my fave tropes popped up, love that for me and Caris also gave us an honest review of the One Horse Trope that made me laugh.

This book only came out a few days ago in NZ and I was HOOKED immediately. The Storm Weaver feels like a step up from the Shadow weaver and I could not put it down. I really enjoyed tabbing my favourite quotes and funny lines. There was great character development and I loved getting some more backstory to Tor. Honestly I'm really sad it's over I just wanted to keep reading about this world.

I did not want this to end 😫 I wanted to stretch this book out but at the same time I was glued to it. Seriously read this duet it was so enjoyable thank you thank you ivy cliffwater. I also love that she is a NZ Author.
