Wow! What an emotional roller coaster ride! This series is so good! This book picks up right where book 1 left off with Vale being captured. The twists and turns that this story take you on is captivating and heard breaking at the same time!

Jo is trying her best to be a good Queen and keep her dragoons safe while doing what’s best for her family and her kingdom but the love she has for Vale is like none other and she will stop at nothing to find him.

This book has so many of the good tropes: forbidden love, found family, age gap, touch her and die. Andreas writing will suck you in from page one to the very end. This series is part of a bigger universe and keeps getting better. Each series in this universe is interconnected stand alones, but it will mean more if you start from the beginning and read through each series!

Love is dangerous. Betrayal is inevitable. Magic always demands a price.

Exhibition: The After Queen is a haunting, character-driven fantasy where witchcraft hums beneath the surface and every choice carries consequences. Andrea Huston weaves a story rich with forbidden love, fractured loyalties, and secrets sharp enough to draw blood.

This isn’t a tale of easy crowns or simple heroes — it’s about power earned through sacrifice, trust broken at the worst possible moment, and magic that refuses to stay buried. Emotional, immersive, and impossible to put down, this book lingers long after the final page.

My lord this book will break your heart multiple times!!! I havent sobbed like this since Under Your Scars. The amount of detail and thought that has been written in this book is astounding, it will pull every emotion from you and demand more. As our jo fights fot her heart and whats right prophecies are being revealed as are the traitors. Malik had his own problems that are beyond anything I could have imagined. Things are set in motion that will devistate many. Betrayals from those closet to the crown will have devastating consequences. The ending you will never see coming but I have hope wrongs will be righted in the next book. Bravo andrea this was a masterpiece and I look forward to it.

Josie as queen is someone to be feared as well as admired. She is strong and soft at the same time. Vale is rough and loving and you root for him through the entire book. This book is full of twists and turns, you will be addicted from the start and have a hard time putting it down! You will laugh and cry and get mad and love at the same time.

Andrea know how to tell you a story. I got pulled right back in. We jump right back in from The After Queen. We get love, Spice, betrayal, tension, jealousy, and war. Josie determination to get Vale back and what she has to go though is not for the weak. We get thrown down the ringer.
