I was eager to read this volume for a long time because this novel is written by a Japanese songwriter named Toshiya Miyata and is also getting an anime adaptation when the light novel series only have 2 volumes. So how was it?

I would say really good. I loved Kyouske and Kai throughout the novel. Especially Kai. Such an energetic character. Kyouske is the opposite of him. Seeing their friendship, it was great. As you can expect from a light novel, it takes some 15-16 pages too establish what is going on.

The genre of this novel is also Music. So you can see the conflicts of other characters about creating their own music as well. I really liked it. You don’t get many light novels about music these days.

Now one thing that I think the author could have done is flesh the light novel or the characters a bit more or making this volume a bit longer in a good way. It would have been wonderful if he could do that. That doesn’t mean this light novel is bad. It did what it wanted to do.

The novel relies on Music a lot, as expected from this genre. So I am happy it got an anime adaptation. I hope the songs will be great too.

Now I want to give a warning. Don’t look up to volume 2 of this novel because you might get a bit spoiled about volume 1.

My rating: 7.4 out of 10
