Good things come to those who wait, but great things come to those who claim.
Tinsley's and the maybe (😉) lawyer's book!
This small-town holiday romance features a wickedly charming billionaire, a virgin stolen bride with a case of mistaken identity, and a whole lot of secret surprises. Enjoy all the tropes you love this Valentine's Day.
DUAL VIRGINS! *happy happy dance!* Even better? They both know they are each others first, last and only EVERYTHING! The one and only trope that is the heartbeat of romance! *mini booty shake*
Quote (first intimate moment between them), "Pierce—" She squirms, not sure what she fully needs. "Be still for me, baby; I need to see you." I have no clue what I’m doing, but I’m a quick study. Her body will tell me everything I need to know. end quote.
Quote (they finally have sex but she thinks he is experienced so he corrects her assumptions), “Need your words, wife.” "I'll make this exception just this once because I have no idea what I'm doing, and you clearly have more experience." She narrows her eyes on me. Tinsley is full of shit. We both know she wants to pretend she’s in charge, but it’s an illusion, and it doesn't need to be spoken. She gets off on the line when I draw it. “I have just as much experience as you do.” Her eyes widen. Nice to know that I can surprise her once in a while. Then her whole face goes soft. Sex has never been a thing I indulged in. I always had a one-track mind with my focus. It’s how I made it so far in life. Now that focus is solely on her. “Well then, since I’m your wife, be my husband and give me what we both need. You’ve made us wait long enough.” end quote.
Quote (he loved discovering sex and intimacy with his fiery Tinsley), Tinsley and I might not have had experience all those years ago, but that had been half the fun. I don't think there is much we haven't tried together, and my once-upon-a-time Tinkerbell still loves putting her acting skills to the test. There has been a lot of role-play. end quote.
Safe No cheating No OM/OW (There is "OM" drama but let me explain: her side hustle is being hired by wives who believe their husbands are being unfaithful, so she traps men who are about to cheat on their wives, and she is paid to find out if they will, but she does nothing intimate at all! In this case, a man named Biff has drinks with her while his wife watches, they go to the hotel room and he undresses, but she grabs his clothes and gives them to the wife waiting at the hotel door. So no worries! There is no intimacy, no flirting, no touching, nothing! She even made a face of disgust when he undressed.) No OM/OW comparison No separation (maybe a week when he had to go to the city to work on something) No gross condom use No stupid third act break up HEA Rom Com, light, low drama
Tinsley, the firecracker of a pixie, is a spunky, funny, sweet young woman who busts into the office of where she trapped a man by the name of Biff, proving he was intending on cheating on his wife, but now wants payback. She will not tolerate it so she goes to the office of whom she thinks is his lawyer and starts to mouth off to him and then to Biff when he enters. Pierce is not a lawyer but with a knowing smile and hearts in his eyes, he just falls in love, hard with this spicy pixie with glitter on her cheeks and her hands on her hips, ready to go toe to toe with anyone and everyone! She is tiny and he is a foot taller than she is, but although she might be small, she is mighty! He just stares at her in awe, and when she leaves after their meet cute, he follows her to New Hope intending on finding out everything about her and making her his in all ways. It is a done deal for this entrepreneur. Before meeting Tinsley, he seldom smiled let alone laughed. He was always focused on his work to become rich, so he never has to worry about not having a meal. This was his childhood when he would bounce around from home to home, never belonging and worrying if he would skip a meal one day. Women were never on his radar, until he met Tinsley and Tinsley waited for her Mr. Right because she knows that is what she wants. She manifested her prince charming, and my goodness did fate deliver with Pierce! Pierce never wavered about his feelings, and whenever shenanigans would light up in her head, he would just smile at her and enjoy every bit of her craziness. It keeps him on his toes and gave him a now glitter sprinkled, brighter world that is interesting, very opposite to his boring beige world he lived in the city. He smiles more, laughs more, is ahead of Tinsley's shenanigans and meets her fiery temper with a kiss that melts her resolve like butter in the sun. He feels happier and knows that it is all Tinsley. She resists him, because she is scared of heartbreak, and he figures that out, so he is resolute on showing her that their relationship is for life. He takes time to show her, and her being drunk and having the idea to marry Pierce was pretty hilarious. He doesn't resist one bit! She wakes up in bed and he just has this big smile again that she is his and he is hers officially. She thinks of getting an annulment, but in her heart, she doesn't really want one. She is just running scared but whenever she runs, she runs straight into Pierce's arms. I kind of wished that she didn't push him away so much, but the humour and light heartedness made it kind of fun and if Pierce was hurt by her then I wouldn't have like it. He loves that she pushes away and runs, because then he can chase her, catch her, and with a kiss show her that he isn't going anywhere. Still, I wish that she didn't resist so much. The fact that Pierce is elated that they share all their firsts together, is the most important character trait in a romance hero for me. We get that rare, gem of a hero with Pierce! Although they are both new, they are both a quick study, and enjoy experimenting. He loves control and she likes the chase. There are many sequences of events that unfold, and it includes very prominently Tinsley's best friend Katherine who is just a hoot! She is hilarious and her story comes next! I loved her to bits, but I wish our love birds had more alone time. It's ok though, the whole story was just fantastic and the people of this small town are hilarious and loyal to each other. Pierce fit right in. I am glad we see Hollis again, from book 1 in the series. I cannot wait Katherine's story next! Lucy Darling continues to deliver one true love romances with first timers, so for her, I drop everything to read her stories! I am left with a smile on my face and best believe I will reread this again and again! Happy reading everyone!
i didn't feel any chemistry between the hero and heroine. and i wanted more genuine emotion from them.
the heroine wakes up married to the hero, a guy she knows nothing about and has met, like, 3 times. in that situation she should have been genuinely anxious and uncertain of the future, and asked him questions about how this happened and what they're gonna do about it.
instead she kinda... flails about in a way that's supposed to show she's a quirky, whimsical person. and of course during this she flashes the hero a lot, because why not 🙄 of course she's naked and having a childishly dramatic reaction while the hero is wearing pants and is relaxed and cool-headed. it would obviously be terrible if the heroine had an inch of dignity and intellect (/sarcasm).
and then the heroine climbs out of a window. and i was still left with no indication of any actual hint of emotion from her - fear, uncertainty, curiosity about this man she just married, etc... im so tired of this sort of thing. where's the GENUINE emotion? i guess i expected too much from this.

This book had me rolling. I couldn't wait for Tinsley's story and it did not disappoint. Tinsley and her shenanigans are priceless. Add her best friend Katherine to the mix and you get the craziest ideas. Such a fun rom com. Pierce loves Tinsley's antics and at times encourages her. I couldn't put this book down. My cheeks hurt from smiling throughout the whole book. 5 stars!! Can't wait for Katherine's book next.
Love this book! Tinsley had a knack of getting herself in trouble but also getting out of it. When she got in too deep she had to go back to New Hope to lay low but now before making a huge impression on Pierce!
Can’t believe she’s all grown up. Her antics just got bigger and wilder. The banter between Tinsley and Pierce were hilarious. Adding Katherine, Tinsley’s bff, in the mix was the cherry on top. I hope she gets her story
This book is the perfect Valentine treat. One look at Tinsley and Pierce is hooked … going out of his way to protect her, but also allow her to be her sassy, nosy, chaotic, lovable self. Tinsley was sure he was the evil lawyer helping Biff destroy New Hope. The story of their back and forth, figuring out who and what Pierce actually was, was fun and funny; sweet and sexy and everything I want in a book. I always look forward to every new Lucy Darling book. Can’t wait for more from New Hope.
I love this series!! It’s so much fun! And what is more fun than Tinsley, the girl (now woman) who was always into everything lol. Nothing has changed, she’s just taking on more. Which leads her to her future. Pierce has one encounter with her and he’s done for. Then they are inseparable ❤️
