Yearning for the Yeti

Rate this book
A stormy mountain that might be sentient. A lonely yeti, sworn to protect a magical reindeer herd. A snow-stranded woman who just wants to be a writer. Over the Christmas holiday, fate brings them together--and nothing will ever be the same for either one.

When struggling waitress and aspiring writer Noelle Forrester arrives in a remote snowy mountain town for a writing retreat, she expected snow, solitude, and possibly a breakthrough. She certainly didn’t expect Vaktar—a massive, enigmatic yeti with molten-gold eyes and ancient magic in his veins. While the storm outside is fierce, and hunters lurk too close for comfort, the bond that starts forming between Noelle and the yeti protector quickly becomes impossible for both to ignore.

Wrapped up in snow-dusted forests, dancing northern lights, a Santa cameo, and a cabin full of warmth, this cozy winter monster romance will have you feeling hot and cold all at once. Perfect for fans of cozy fantasy, quirky romantasy, creature romances, fated mates, winter magic, and monster smut with a tender heart.

Such a cute winter monster romance! A very fast read with delicious and romantic smut! The plot was cute and entertaining enough to keep turning the page but the spice was hot! Wish the mountains would provide me with a yeti too!.

She came for quiet. She found magic, heat, fate, and him.

Noelle arrives on the mountain expecting solitude and a chance to write. Instead, she’s stranded by a storm and face-to-face with a golden-eyed yeti who saves her life and upends everything. The mountain feels like it's watching, like it wants something from her. And Vaktar, guardian of a glowing reindeer herd, is nothing like the monster she imagined.

In a hidden cabin, firelight and silence give way to slow trust and unexpected warmth. He’s quiet and strong, more protector than predator, and she's not as alone as she thought. As the storm deepens, so does their connection, pulled tighter by shared danger, quiet moments, and heat that refuses to be ignored.

But the mountain doesn't let go easily. Magic stirs, hunters draw near, and fate begins to move. When everything around them shifts, Vaktar and Noelle are forced to decide who they are and what they're willing to risk. The storm outside is fierce, but the one inside them might be stronger.

Noelle grows from a self-doubting writer into someone who finally knows her voice. Vaktar learns to let someone in and allow himself to be more than duty. Together, they find not just survival, but a love rooted in trust, vulnerability, and the choice to stay.

A steamy, snowed-in, fated mates monster romance with winter magic, only one bed, forced proximity, and a grumpy soft-hearted yeti guarding more than just a herd. It’s about identity, belonging, transformation, healing through love, the pull of fate, and the power of being seen. It’s about choosing connection over fear and finding home in the one who never turns away.

The Elevator Pitch: A stranded writer meets a golden-eyed yeti in the heart of a storm, and their collision sparks something wild, tender, and undeniable. Magic hums beneath the ice, desire builds by the fire, and fate refuses to be ignored. Wrapped in snow, heat, and ancient wonder, their love story burns through the cold.

Tabitha Lovelace has done it again with another amazing monster smut novella! Yearning for the Yeti follows Noelle, a starving artist who escapes to the snowy mountains to hold up in a cozy log cabin, hoping the isolation will inspire her to finally write her book. On her journey, she’s saved by the mountain’s guardian. A tall, muscular, beast of a Yeti named Vaktar. When a raging storm forces them to seek shelter in a remote hunter’s cabin, Vaktar vows to protect them both.

As the storm rages on outside, the tension between them builds, and once they finally give in to their desires, the stars truly align. 🔥

I’m such a sucker for monster smut, and hands down, this is one of my favorite series! Even though it’s short, every page is packed with delicious detail. The story never drags and keeps moving at a perfect pace. I just wish it was longer like always. Tabitha Lovelace absolutely excels at writing one sitting, can’t put it down reads, and this novella is no exception.

The spice is SPICY 🥵🥵🥵

This is Book 4 of the Monster Smut series but can be read as a standalone. The yeti and the aspiring author who comes to love him.

The plot was well written and pretty straightforward. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. All in all a great short story. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This is another fun and spicy addition to the series and I love how the forced proximity trope played out for Vaktar and Noelle. She's in the mountains hoping to ignite her creativity to finally write her book. However, the weather did not cooperate and she ends up rescued by Yeti, Vaktar. These two spend the storm in her cabin and they find they have an unexpected connection. Their romance unfolds with trust, healing and belonging, making it heartwarming as well as heat producing ;P I really enjoyed it and look forward to what's next by this author. Good fun!

Another thoroughly enjoyed read by this author. And another Yeti tale. Vaktar is the Yeti, a mountain protector of magical reindeer. Noelle works as a waitress but desires to become a writer. On a writing retreat, she's snowed in and through her time, meets Vaktar. There are elements that they have to overcome but a great quick read.

I absolutely ate this one up! I love the way that vaktar and Noelle cross paths, and then the way they both take care of each other. I am such a sucker for close proximity and one bed so this was MWA. I am never disappointed by Tabitha!

Noelle is an aspiring writer and she has come to the snowy remote mountain town for some inspiration. She wasn't expecting Vaktar, a yeti to become her protector.
