Time Machine Circles, Triangles, Squares and more...., February 25, 2005
This book is excellent for young preschoolers and toddlers. The poetry may not be Shakespeare or even Jack and Jill, but it hardly matters. There is something about the colors, shapes and animals that youngsters cannot get enough of. My almost 3 year old son, for example, loves this book. He asks for it every night, and we have owned this book for over a year now.
For myself, I particularly like that there are other things in the drawings to talk about. For example when ovals are discussed, there is a a red bird (Cardinal) and storm clouds. In the circle pages (there are 2 pages per topic) there are many kinds of vegetables to point out.
Overall a good beginners book for shapes, and though we have now moved on to hexagons, my son and daughter still enjoy this book.
I really liked the colorful pictures incorporating neat shapes... not just circle, square and rect and triangle, but diamond, oval (which my 20mos learned by reading this book!!) and star!!!
