Imagine waking up, night after night in the middle of the same dream, so vivid that it feels like your real life, so that everything else is a lie. Paige, a biophysicist with top security-clearance as an elite, super-weapons designer for the US government begins to feel that she can trust no one. Worse, there are holes in her memory, and an aching, emptiness-- a sense that she might have been forced, or tricked, into making a sacrifice that's more than she can bear... With a vortex of deadly secrets swirling around her, she has only one hour each night to put the pieces together. Or face a living death. And she can trust no one. Not even the mysterious Elyssa, whose identity Paige uses during the day... On the other side of town, a young girl goes through her days as if in a dream. She doesn’t know how she is aware of this, but her life is like some sort of script, a construct where all the people closest to her are playing bit parts. She gradually realizes that she is in some sort of danger, and there might be no one in her life whom she can trust. The connection between Paige and this young woman is not immediately clear, but one thing is They must BOTH put together the pieces of their share of this deadly puzzle if they want to stay alive. Readers of BLOODPACT, another title by Valda DeDieu, will enjoy seeing Maddie, the Female Police chief of the (invented) SBPD, i.e. South Beach Police Department. Please there is NO SBPD, but the Miami Beach Police Department, which as far as I know, is still headed by a man. But one can dream... *Jess's full story in NOCTURNAL (Young Adult ).

Fractured

The idea could have been implemented much better. There were pages that droned on repetitively. It needed an editor and proofreading. Some words were completely missing, some wrong/typos.
