"Se devono morire così tante persone per ottenerla, non è forse troppo alto il prezzo della pace?"
La guerra dei trent'anni è alle sue fasi finali, gli schieramenti utilizzano tutte le loro pedine e mosse migliori per garantire la vittoria.
Questo secondo atto della trilogia si è rivelato all'altezza del primo, grazie al suo ritmo incalzante e ai suoi dialoghi brillanti.
I personaggi sono il vero motore della storia, il che mi ha ricordato lo stile dei romanzi di Abercrombie: caratterizzazioni al centro del racconto e ironia a palate mescolata in un contesto brutale.
Questa trilogia è davvero una bella sorpresa. Se anche il capitolo finale saprà garantirmi ore così spassose, il mio giudizio complessivo potrebbe raggiungere il massimo dei voti.

The Thirty Years' War is in its final stages, and each side is using all its pawns and best moves to secure victory.
This second act of the trilogy proved to be as good as the first, thanks to its fast pace and brilliant dialogue.
The characters are the true driving force of the story, which reminded me of the style of Abercrombie's novels: characterizations at the heart of the story and tons of irony mixed into a brutal context.
This trilogy is truly a pleasant surprise. If the final chapter also provides me with hours of such fun, my overall rating could reach top marks.
