-A charming Regency romance built on a marriage of convenience and quiet second chances. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Vivian is strong yet vulnerable, while Thomas’s integrity and kindness make him deeply appealing. Smooth, heartfelt, and satisfying, this story delivers a lovely, well-earned happily-ever-after.
Lady Vivian’s first ball is a disaster & and grabs Thomas for a dance. Her X-betrothed is giving her trouble. It seems he’s looking for someone to help his business propositions. And marriage is next. They both love each other but are hesitant to admit It. So round & round he goes with his grandmothers help. He also has a secret & thinks he’s doing what’s best.
Although it took a while to get into this book, once I did, I found it an enjoyable read. I did think the idea of a curse put on a family was hard to believe, but the setting was a different time period when people were more superstitious. I enjoyed seeing Vivian's character grow stronger as the relationship between her and Thomas developed.
I have enjoyed this book although it took me a while to get into the story. I just wish the story ending was more conclusive about whether the curse was real or not. All in all a good read with a good ending.
