Elle’s coping mechanism is spicy romance, a little wine, and doomscrolling TikTok until her feelings shut up.
Then she watches a viral “you attract the kind of guy you read about” video, makes one reckless comment, and wakes up with Zander in her bedroom, her favorite morally gray obsession in the flesh, staring at her like he’s been waiting for her permission to breathe. Now he’s in her apartment, treating Valentine’s season like a sacred courtship ritual, and declaring himself her Valentine forever. The only problem is that Elle didn’t order a real man, and the magic that dragged him out of fiction is tied to something deeper than a fantasy.
Because the town’s unofficial glitch experts have seen what happens when the anchor shifts. If Elle’s loneliness fades too fast, Zander doesn’t just vanish. He corrupts, glitches, and breaks apart into static, taking her heart with him.
This spicy, funny, tender Valentine’s novella is for anyone who’s ever wished their book boyfriend could step off the page, and stay.
Kate Rozy you are amazing! I absolutely loved this book. It literally had me laughing so much. I loved the characters and the plot in this one. I love how they all come together.
Elle is wanting her happy ending but everyone has hurt her or ran. Elle loves to use sarcasm anf jokes to block it or from letting it hit her. She loves her books and the fantasy of them. Till one night she made a comment on a booktok video. She is lonely and wants love. Desperate for it even if she does not realize how desperate she is.
Zander a plot twist Elle didn't see coming.
I devoured it in a day! Kate Rozy books are so easy to read and bring comfort while reading them. They are cute, sweet, and really hilarious!
I am super excited with how it ended!!! I never want these books to end.
Elle was reading her book and dreaming of her own Zander before she went to bed. Only to wake up the next morning with THE Zander from her book in her bedroom. I love that this book took place in Michigan (my state!) at first Zander is too much. She didn’t actually want him. Then she starts connecting with him and also showing him how to do things. This is a cute little short read about your book boyfriend coming to life, adapting to you and getting your own HEA.
**ARC sent by author ** Wow! I think this is one of my favorite yet. A book boyfriend story like no other ! I love how feisty the MFC is 🥰 if you haven't read the whole series yet, drop whatever you are reading and RUN to them. You won't regret it
Such a sweet and entertaining love story between Elle and Zander. Elle is completely relatable in her loneliness, attraction to book boyfriends, and her wish to be truly seen in a relationship past the superficial. Zander, coming in hot & heavy with his obsession and possessiveness over Elle, is the epitome of a book boyfriend come to life (because, well…he is exactly that). His willingness to learn and develop into a better man for Elle makes him so endearing and swoon-worthy.
Favorite Quotes: “Just once, I wish someone looked at me that way, as if I was the only thing that ever made sense.” “You summoned me because your heart was hurting. I can feel it. You’re lonely.” “He’s intense, yes, and insane, obviously, but he listens…he looks at me like I’m not just the prize, but the point.” “You are my anchor. My choice. My beginning and end…because I say so. Because I want you, Elle. Every messy, human second of being yours.”
“Oh great. I’ve adopted a sexy medieval golden retriever.”
Apparently… be careful what you wish for….
“I’d burn the world for you.”
In Elle’s case, she’s managed to manifest a morally grey, obsessed cinnamon roll leading man… who just appeared in her bedroom.
“You’re fiery. I like that.”
I loved Zander and Elle! This might be my favourite of the series so far… so many laugh-out-loud moments (the ‘member’ names), swoony moments and take-your-breath-away moments…
I enjoyed this Valentine's Day novella. Elle loves books and happy endings, but still doesn't' have her own. In a moment of loneliness she makes a wish for her current book boyfriend. When she wakes up, she finds a very real Zander watching her sleep. She has to learn to be open to love, he needs to learn well how, to exist int he real world. While I do feel that it helps to read the other books in the series as those characters are present, you do not have to in order to enjoy this quick Valentine's Day read.
It was a story that perfectly describes what you sometimes long for as a reader.
The main idea is wonderful! And the author knows how to develop the story perfectly, focusing on the characters.
I loved reading it and enjoyed it immensely. It creates a sense of anticipation, making you long for the possibility of actually summoning your favorite literary boyfriend.
It's a short story, but one you instantly fall in love with.💗🥰
A cute twist on having a book boyfriend! I had no idea what to expect when I started reading, but this cute story had it all. It’ll make you laugh, almost cry, and giggle with the amount of magic that is there. A great Valentine’s Day read
I love getting these ARCs. I always enjoy them!! Elle is living every book lovers DREAM. I do love that this manifestation didn’t understand the human world like every body else did so easily. I liked that the character was different.

ARC review: This book was definitely a different twist on having a book boyfriend and it was a cute love story to match the vibes. I will admit it did confuse me a little at first but once you get into it, the book is pretty good. 😊
This series is a fun & interesting concept. This is my first book in the series and I will be trying to fit the others into my TBR. The dedication of "to everyone who has ever read one-handed before" is chefs kiss. I loved the story and the characters and the spice.
We all have our book boyfriends, right? But what if one suddenly appeared in your bedroom? Well that’s what happens here. It’s both entertaining, and hot. I like this friend group brought together by magic. I have read this out of order and plan on going back to read the rest.
