In 2024, author and historian, Terry Diener, launched the website Susquehanna Footprints, focusing on the history of the people, places and events in the Susquehanna Valley. This collection of short stories features Montour County topics. Many were written over several years, finding their way into Montour Historical Society newsletters and newspaper articles during celebrations of our local heritage. Others are being published for the first time. This latest book, Susquehanna Footprints Through Montour County, is a compilation of those stories and articles. Other areas of historical interest include his portrayal of civil War soldier, Charles W. Eckman, who rose from the rank of Private to Colonel in the 93rd Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. During the Danville Heritage Cemetery tours, Terry assumed the roles of some of the area’s most prominent citizens.
