This book follows the fearless FMC Mielle Solaire and a hot ruthless MMC Jared Kerrigan who'd burn the world for this woman. Its obsession at its finest.
Mielle is the first born child of the Solaire family who loses her mother and loses her chances of inheriting the family business. Her father a once fearless and powerful man has become withdrawn and a passive player in the family empire. Mielle has a mission to not let her rightful position of inheritance become devoid. She has watched and listened in the shadows and decides to slowly tear down the empire piece by piece and remove any unwilling players in order to rebuild it as her own.
Throughout her life she has also watched a particular family bodyguard and her obsession is absolute. Little does Millie know but that obsession goes both ways. Once her father assigns Jared as her personal bodyguard irs game on. She is not staying hidden anymore and takes what she wants and that includes marrying the hot bodyguard who once was her father's trained and trusted hitman. Together, they plot and plan with a select team to reshape the empire.

I got the great opportunity to be an arc reader for this book.
When I first started out reading the first few chapters I had to go back and reread thinking I missed something about why certain characters where doing things or did my eyes skipped over sentences, but to come and find out Lyselle is keeping it secretive and hidden until it hits you right in the feels.
The characters are written so vividly that I could actually picture Mielle and Jared standing right in front of me while reading.
Definitely would love to read more stories from this author in the future

I loved our main character, Mielle. She knows what she wants and she's going to get it. I loved how she had the mask to hide her true intentions and how perfectly she played it. I love a woman who is intelligent and relies on her own abilities.
The plot is good and moves at a decent pace. It did slow down a bit near the end to focus on Mielle and Jared, but it does set up nicely for the next book.

Definitely check your triggers. I am absolutely obsessed with Mielle and Jared. This book had me completely in love with both the FMC and the MMC. The plot, the way Mielle presents herself, and how strong and confident she is, everything about her just worked for me. Her relationship with Jared was solid, intense, and incredibly well done. It honestly had me melting. Ooooh and Jared well done Jared 👏and the spice? Top tier. Amazing. This was an easy favorite for me. Can't wait for book 2!

The chemistry between the MCs was phenomenal. I absolutely fell in love with both characters. The push and pull had me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed the consent suspense and the intensity between Mielle and Jared. I seriously can’t wait until book 2.

Very well written. Easy to comprehend what is going on. I like that it gets right into this what I’m doing this is why, but still shows confliction in Meille. Also the tension between her and Jared is yes. I love their development. The characters are relatable and most importantly human.
