Being a legend is overrated…

Captain Axel Finn is bored out of his mind being a peacetime hero, so when a murdered scientist's final message reveals coordinates to a mythical planet, he and the Trash Squid crew jump at the chance for a new adventure. They've got a small window to reach it before it vanishes—and they're not the only ones racing to get there first.

With hostile forces on their tail, the crew plunges into uncharted space chasing a mystery that's consumed civilizations and left bodies in its wake. Some legends are worth hunting down, others are better left buried—and Axel's about to find out which kind he's chasing.

This is a novella and is meant to be read after book 3, The Last Lion.

‘One mind with a billion extensions’ – High adventures in space!

Iowa author Nicholas Sansbury Smith, whose activities include a passion for racing (he is an Ironman triathlete), serving in the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management, working in disaster planning and mitigation, writes best-selling novels. Now infamous for his ability to sculpt science fiction themes into reality status, Nick continues his series – Galaxy in Flames – with Book 3.5 - The Last Legends. For those who are new to this excellent series, the helpful excerpt from the plot outline sets the tone: ‘Being a legend is overrated… Captain Axel Finn is bored out of his mind being a peacetime hero, so when a murdered scientist's final message reveals coordinates to a mythical planet, he and the Trash Squid crew jump at the chance for a new adventure. They've got a small window to reach it before it vanishes—and they're not the only ones racing to get there first. With hostile forces on their tail, the crew plunges into uncharted space chasing a mystery that's consumed civilizations and left bodies in its wake. Some legends are worth hunting down, others are better left buried—and Axel's about to find out which kind he's chasing.’

Nick’s highly regarded adroit mixture of high-speed adventure infused with cocky humor is evident as he opens this new addition to his series: ’The Dari Space Elevator rose like a silver thread connecting the planet to the heavens. The newly completed span stretched forty thousand kilometers from the Four Peaks to the refugee station in geosynchronous orbit. A monument to reconstruction, the Federation called it. A symbol of hope rising from the ashes of war. Axel Finn saw it as the galaxy’s tallest climbing wall…’ The characters are near visual in depiction and the pace of the ‘mission’ holds attention to the final page. Another NSS winner!

The Last Legends: Book 3.5 - oh, this is a good one!!

The 'Galaxy In Flames' series is one of the more creative and entertaining other-worldly literary adventures. It should be noted that like all space going ships, you are bound to pick up a few strange shipmates. If you've read any of the other books in the series, you know what I mean. I have read them all and was excited to acquire the latest. There is a lot of action and tense moments as they continue to be chased by their arch enemy, the Corinns. This time the encounter with the Corinns take on universal consequences.
In addition to a great read, there is also an Audible version performed by the talented Mark Boyett. You don't want to miss The Last Legends: Book 3.5 by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. - Mr. Bill
